At least Hellgate:London (Resurrection) is comin' to life now .. Maybe we'll just have to wait a year or two !! BW must have a different perspective on the term "Deadlines" !! Or "Information" !!!!!

Should I teach a class on how to alienate a customer base I will use Bioware's DLC history from ME1 and DAO as examples.

RTO isnt a lie, I played it, I was quick enough to download it. Be patient, and tbh RTO isnt that awesome :/ I mean it took me 30 minutes to finish it ...

I wonder what your good feeling is based on. Personally, i've ran out of good feelings for the moment, expecially after being bombarded by Ray Myzuka and and Greg Zeschuck spamming everywhere about how Mass Effect 2 is gonna be oh so great, while not sharing a single word of apology for this debacle.

Reposting from one of the many locked threads:

At this point I'm pretty much writing Rt:O off as vaporware, ala Duke Nukem forever. My best hope is that after getting ME2 on the secondhand market, I'll be able to buy some DLC for it down the road.

To that end, here's the Goozex link for ME2.
http://www.goozex.co...fect_2-PC_Games

Remember, letting a company treat you as unimportant only justifies their behavior. The -only- way to make them listen to your grievances is to hurt their bottom line.

And to clarify, my problem with Rt:O is not the delay. Delays happen. Ubisoft's delays are the stuff of legend. My grievance is with the way Bioware chose to treat the customer in handling the problem. Monkeying around with release dates and deleting previous comments does not make for good will. Nor does maintaining the wall of silence.

Imagine if instead the devs had posted something like this on late Jan 5:

"Wow, we monumentally screwed up. Here's the forensics on how this whole mess happened: (insert the specifics here)... Here's why we thought we could release the PC version today (insert) and here's why we can't (insert). We blew it, and we're really sorry for letting you down. For those who have already ordered the 400 bioware points, you have the option of taking a refund now or buying the game for 300 points when it's released. Now we're going to get back to work so we can fix and release this DLC as soon as possible. We don't know when that will be, but we'll be giving you a daily update from now until the release day discussing our progress. Again, our sincere apologies. We know you're excited about Rt:O and you want to play it. We're just as excited and we want to give it to you. Please be patient."

Had we heard something even close to that, I'd have kept my preorders for both Awakenings and ME2. I'd have quietly sat on my points, and waited patiently for the release, keeping the occasional eye on those daily updates to track their progress. But most of all, I would have quietly thought - "Yep, that's why I keep paying retail for Bioware titles." and kept telling friends that Bioware is a great company that makes great games.

But until the higher ups step in to clean house, feel free to keep the wagons circled, that finger high and proud in the air and the wall of silence strong and intact. It seems to be working really well for you.

I don't really care if it's as short as posters are saying. I also don't care that it costs $5. What really gets me into a fit of rage is the lack of communication.

very well said Jsoftcheck. Only thing I'm not that interested about is the "300 points" part, price is definitely not an issue here. Communication is, and a real apology was the very least they could post. Yet, the only apology (and very mild) I read is towards the 360 users that got the bug.

They screwed up majorly, and they don't even have the professionalism and humility to apologize and make it up with a bit of actually informative communication.

We get the fact that now you feel like you're the big kids on the block, Bioware, but remember that without us customers, you'd still be coding in a basement.

Ohhh man... this is the first I've heard about RtO not coming out :( then again, i suppose if it did i wouldn't be able to get it anyway seeing as how EA also doesn't want me to be able to buy points!

On the flip side, you could always use those points to Buy something for Mass Effect 2. With the released date pushed back to Holiday Seaon then again to "Later today" now finally nearing end of the month. I think it's safe to say just move on, it's

A minor 35-45 minute of killing darkspawn from what I read on the information with just few new digloge. Now focus on the expansion coming out, that suspense is killing me

Hang in their guys , my good feeling is based on that they failed on 2 confimed release dates, ruined 360 players campaign, disappointing fans that paid for the product AND failed to update product. cant get any worse . there is no way this company can keep up with this performance.

For which many of us already paid.
It being "just a DLC" doesn't in any way justify Bioware's abysmal behavioir with communication (or lack or thereof) towards their customers.

the "300" points amounts to a measly 1.25 off the original price. But I threw it in there as a gesture to the community. It might not be much money, but it would preserve enough goodwill that people like me wouldn't feel as bad about sitting on those points and might be less likely to take the knee jerk refund.

I don't think anyone cares much about how big it is or what it is anymore. The issue is how the situation was handled, all the delays, the lack of communication, the blatant ignoring is customers. It leads to worse things than people not buying the DLC.

This would greatly upset me more than the delay. Lowering the price AFTER I bought the points due to their False Advertising would just leave me with extra points that would never get used. And they would never get used because I will never purchase more points and buy anything from them thru the online store.
I am sure I will purchase more games of theirs, they do actually make good games, but I won't purchase any DLC from them again.

Personally, the more I hear them spamming about Mass Effect 2 without sharing a single word about RtO and Dragon Age, the more I'm getting turned off towards Mass Effect 2 itself.

I just hope it won't be disappointing due to the extreme overhype like Mass Effect kinda was.

I'd rather weekly updates, and them working more on fixing bugs, than daily updates, and no game. I can wait for RtO.

According to Victor Watcher, nothing.

Victor Wachter wrote...

Play it and enjoy it if you purchased it. As Sidney said, the issue is the title update, and not RtO. It works fine.
But try not to lord it over the other Xbox players and PC/PS3 players. They'll resent you for it ;)

Of couse this was buried in the xbox 360 tech support forum.
Makes me wonder. If "it works fine", Why am I not playing it? :innocent:

Well, for me, this whole RtO and DLC discussions are starting to bore me. The only reason I am still looking for info here is my waiting 1040 Bioware points to be spent. The most annoying part is that there aren't any SERIOUS official news/updates lately.
