Probably not going to make anything new today. I feel so exhausted still from being sick last weekend, I don't think I could weld two verts together.

 

I was however wondering if anybody would like a video showing how to manually make a super basic tileset from scratch. I could go through the motions and make a simple 2-3 texture rolling hills base set, over a few videos. I could walk people through the SET file layout in a text editor, and then use GMAX to create maybe like 30 tiles or something to get people started. Kinda sounds fun. I need to purchase a mic so I can make this easier on everybody.

My boy is sick, and will be staying home today. That kinda makes recording anything impossible. So maybe monday, or if I get lucky, this weekend. In the meantime, I am already working on the text part over on the new vault.

Well, I guess planning makes perfect. The tiny test I did today to see how the mic works was a failure because I have the dishwasher going in the background. Yay. I will try again tomorrow and see if I can make some better progress. At least the first part of the video keeps getting easier and easier to follow script for. I'll be an actor in no time.

How about holdable bags? There ain't no holdable bag in the game, yet! It could use the same animation as the large tools in Project Q, holding a bag over the shoulder like this picture, or just holding a bag in the hands using the default?

well, that is an hour wasted. file corrupted while mixing the audio and video. I had that one good too!

 

Ok, so you guys that do videos, how do you best time yourself so your video is smallish? I want videos that are less than 10 minutes, closer to 5, so the upload time isn't in days. Should I use an audio timer and just wipe it from the end of the video afterward and continue with the next video? I'm seriously new to video making.

I have no issue with purses in NWN But sacks and other gear would be just fine too.

 

Ok, the first video in the tileset series is on it's way to space as we speak. It claims the world can see all its glory in 10 hours, which is total bs. I need to turn down the quality on my videos unless I am showing something that needs high quality.

I was actually thinking of making a polearm group and doing a model for everything from the 2nd ed phb and supplements that had not already been made as a set. I'd put in all those farm implements I was planning.

Noooooooo!!!!!  You had to do it!  You just had to go there!  Don't listen to him MD!  He's trying to subvert your mind with the insidious pink nightmare!  Just think--you agree to a Hello Kitty purse, and the next thing you know we'll be hip deep in floating eye searing neon pink beholders.  Just imagine that horror of horrors!  Then, THEN there will come the ubiquitous pink stinkers festooned on every shield, weapon, and breastplate!  I won't even mention what could happen after that!  It's simply too terrifying to even consider...
