I'm more inclined to check it out now since they brought race selections back, what they showed so far looks promising. I want to see more though.

Varric's voice actor was trying to sell me on it but I'll wait til it ends up in the bargain bin before I decide whether it's worth the money.

Maybe? I dunno. I actually thought DA2 was kind of cool, I see what they were trying to do. They did some good with it.

i hate how long it takes bioware to give more information after revealing a character

i really like how the frostbite engine looks in da3. the graphical change is exponential to the umpteenth degree

 

the gameplay looks identical to da2 though so im not sold yet

I've seen his name thrown around a lot, but have never played the games, so that's about it. Who is he to the fandom?

in da1, in the mage origin,  cullen interacted with the player. If the characer was a female mage, he had a crush on her, which you found out through ambient dialog, and him stammering when he talked to you at o]ne point

 

later on, in the main quest, you return to the mage tower that has been overrun by blood mages

Fighting through blood mages, through the ruined tower, you find cullen imprisoned and see hes been mindtortured this and is really unstable and mad

 

where you find him, is right before the final boss fight for the mage tower, and in the boss fight you have the option using this thing which dispels a blood magic ritual that turns people in abominations

 

or just fighting them, and killing them

 

gameplay wise, its much simpler to jsut use the magic thing, but, you know, in-character, how can you know it works? Kill these motherfuckers before its too late

so cullen wants you to kill them, cause hes really mad

wynne, your companion wants to save them

 

etc etc

 

 

even later on in the game.. well after the game is done, depending on your choices, cullen becomes the head templar of the tower, and  is really mean

 

or he goes insane and kills some mages

 

 

he appears again and da2, which basically voids both of these endings, and there hes pretty sane.

 

But basically,  cullen was a stammering cutie in da1 and peolpe invented all this headcannon about him

There is also cassandra, who is a seeker, which is a blackops templar basically, who we met in da2

there is a dvd about cassandra

bioware has alraedy invested a lot into her character, so shes gonna be romancable no doubt about it

People were (mostly) cool with Leliana's frenchness I think, so I dunno if that would be a problem unless maybe it accentuates the hatred they feel for the other things somehow
