still useless
It does look a lot better. Unlike how he used to look, but thats understandable since he didnt really have a custom face before I suppose?
His armor is really terrible. i can't understand its purpose.
It looks like a mabari or lion. It's alright, I guess. I think his outfit conveys ferocity, authority and civility. The art direction in general seems a lot more flamboyant, high fantasy.
I hope traps are more useful. For some reason they are associating that with Varric, but I will make my PC trap specialists nontheelss
In DA1 on my first playthrough I used traps but not all of them were usefull cause of the low physical resistance checks and the effects they had were easily repeated by mages.
Also in the console there was not an infinite amount of metal shards. You coukld make infinite health potions from the dalish vendor who sold elfroot, but there was no such vendor for traps. This made it even less viable cause the more advanced ones, which again werent that good, used more shards per trap... it just meant, using large claw trap over and over, until you ran out
i can't honestly remember any game where i found traps useful. although it's a nice concept
mines were really useful in kotor
also in fallout games
it can be done
in kotor i always felt like it's too much trouble for something i can do twice as fast without traps
well, it was the best way to kill people - especially bosses - if you'd gone for a tech/skills build, which I did sometimes in KOTOR 2. Since kotor games didn't really have the degree of formal rogue combat mechanics that some other rpgs have.
in absolute terms yeah, it was more efficient to be a lightning-spamming consular or especially a dual-wielding guardian with points in Force Speed.
well kotor gameplay was very uninspiring in general
I just realized that cullen and that really wimpy templar you meet just before the final boss fight in the circle's tower are the same person.

LOL yeah
I don't know if it's a good or bad thing that Solas is giving me some serious Thane vibes. At least where first impressions are concerned, they seem really alike.
how
They're both older and mature, about 40ish, are intelligent but introverted, have something similar to "out of body experiences" (visions, dreams in the fade), have their own experiences and opinions on topics which are morally incomprehensible to most other people (assassinations, spirits in the fade). It's not said anywhere but I suspect Solas might also believe in a total separation of responsibility and accountability between the mind, body and spirit.
Those are just my first impressions. I could be totally wrong
solas is more of a nerd
thane was way taller

it's the fingers isn't it moss
thane was handsomer ![]()
it's the fingers isn't it moss
oh yeah
you see, they're trying to do something
thane was handsomer
yeah he was
edit: nvm what did i just say
some people are comparing him to mordin since weekes wrote both of them
i can sort of see it
i don't understand all the incessant comparisons fandom feels like making
