i got deeply disappointed in everyone on DA team during this particular pregame and i feel like a complete ****** cause i used to defend them after ME3

Which is not to say I don't like them, but none of them really seem to be my type of romance. I am a heterosexual who is agnostic, and I generally like to roleplay my characters within those boundaries. Which is to say my religious beliefs are important because I treat the chantry similarly to how I treat such things in real life. I feel like Cassandra/Cullen will be too religious for my tastes, and of course both of them have been portrayed thus far as a bit hardened. I don't see a ton of emotional resonance coming from them.
Sera is the only one of the romance interests out of the 6 revealed so far that looks like a fun romance for me, but she's a lesbian. Which is of course not to say I mind homosexual romance options, I don't. It's just I feel like the romance options available to me are fairly thin. I'm also disappointed by thus far revealed romance options because this more or less confirms I won't be able to have the love interest I choose on my party.

i love that everyone already wrote a whole tome of fanfiction about their fake OCs and people object to characters being this and that and the game isn't even remotely out and we have almost no idea of the plot even
why dis
it does not make sense to be such a stickler for your agnosticism in a setting where all of the ancient religious prophesies reliably play out in very specific terms
this is like how there's always somebody in your D&D group who will get mad if they can't play an atheist character even in settings where the gods literally walk around and do things, or where players can reliably visit the afterlife.

It apparently plays like Diablo 3 with dungeon crawling and loot, with pay 4 premium type stuff like in the ios game heroes of da. Paying for better weapons if you can't loot it and whatnot.
I liked the dungeon crawling and looting bit but lost me at freemium transactions

I was thinking of reading it even though I read some of the spoilers already. There needs to be an option to burn Orlais to the ground, and let the city elves party hard all day, everyday.

what did she do
Well a lot of it is in small details of how she thinks so i won't be able to translate that but plot tl;dr incoming anyway
One of the major characters of the book is elf Briala who was a daughter of the servants in Celene's noble house or whatever they called it. They practically grew up together and had developed a close friendship. It's heavily hinted however that Celene being human and Briala being an elf it was a somewhat abusive relationship until some point. When Celene hit 16 her parents died because of some court intrigue, very tragic. She took a Grand Old Lady Manipulator of the Orlesian court as her mentor and somehow managed to get rid of the then emperor and take his place, but Briala's parents were killed supposedly by some rival noble.
Anyway Celene became an empress and Briala became her first maid and they got into a romantic relationship (with crushing lips and all of course) and maintained it for a very long time. Briala used her influence to make Celene slowly give elves more rights and freedoms and i guess it was working out pretty well for her, except we keep seeing Celene thinking of elves as some dullwitted cattle that she as a human savior must struggle to uplift. Such an underhanded elf rights campaign.
The coup starts with an uprising in an alienage over a human noble killing an innocent man and hanging his body parts all over the place as a lesson. So Briala tries to quietly lead the local elves to murder the noble in question so that the situation doesn't get more violent, but Celene gets manipulated into burning down the entire alienage to avoid losing the support of the nobles who aren't too fond of the elves. Briala gets arrested everything is very sad blah blah.
Through their next adventures Celene continues to be very reasonable about what happened and spectacularly fails at empathy. In the end Briala finds out that it was actually the empress who ordered her parents killed because they might have overheard Celene's plotting against the former emperor. Very invigorating.
And through this whole gross dynamic Celene just keps being condescending and manipulative and really not a good person. I was actually very happy with the ending because Briala really one-upped her and got a cool powerful thing i'm too lazy to type about.
And you know, there's not a single moment when she had a genuine remorse about anything. Hard decisions happen, but when a character remains completely uncaring after they slaughter an entire district it gets suspicious.
If you plan to **** up the person's entire life at least find the decency to not start a romantic relationship with them based on a bunch of lies about something that is so obviously important to them you know
