They're renegades, definitely. They're on the darker side of morally gray. But are they evil? I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

It won't just be 'We're fighting for humanity' and I have three choices that say "Though you make me sick..." "You're right..." and "Go Cerberus!!"

Thoughts?

Hah, nailed it.

"We (cerberus) are dicks! We're reckless, arrogant, stupid dicks. And the council are ******. And Harbinger is an ass hole. ****** don't like dicks, because ****** get F***ed by dicks. But dicks also F*** ass holes: ass holes that just want to S*** on everything. ****** may think they can deal with ass holes their way. But the only thing that can f*** an ass hole is a dick, with some balls. The problem with dicks is: they F*** too much or F*** when it isn't appropriate - and it takes a **** to show them that. But sometimes, ****** can be so full of s*** that they become ass holes themselves... because ****** are an inch and half away from ass holes. I don't know much about this crazy, crazy world, but I do know this: If you don't let us F*** this Ass hole, we're going to have our dicks and ****** all covered in S***!"

Their core belief is that humans deserve a greater role in the galactic community, and that the Alliance is too hamstrung by law and public opinion to stand up effectively to the Citadel races. Any methods of advancing humanity's ascension are justified, including illegal or dangerous experimentation, terrorist activities, sabotage and assassination. Cerberus operatives accept that these methods are brutal, but believe history will vindicate them.
Evil, no. Renegade, very much so.

Cerberus doesn't pretend to be some holier than thou organization of skittles & gum drops. It knows what it does is brutal, unethical, and often times callous, but they  understand that ethics and an unwillingness to do the
unreprehensible for the greater good, ultimately retards progress.

Cerberus would have dropped the bomb on Hiroshima in WW2, not because they're mean or evil, but b/c the projected casualties of an amphibious assault on mainland Japan were almost a million, and that the death of 200k civilians was an acceptable loss to end the fighting quickly.

News flash - was Hiroshima and Nagasaki necessary? No. Japan was done for. But US thought they need the show of force to establish their supremacy (vs Stalin mostly).
Please stop posting such nonsense.

And as for Cerberus and TIM. He does everything to further human goals in the universe. Its like "better to rule in hell that serve in heaven" doctrine. Sounds nice, every one can "rule in hell" right?  All fell for it but what it really means is that the Lucifer himself will rather rule in hell than serve in heaven.
Same goes for TIM imo -  humanity will be safe, we will establish new order with reign of humanity. With TIM speaking from the seat of power.

Japan may have been on the downhill run of the war by this time but they werent going to call it quits that easily, like the samurai, most of japan still obeyed the code of death before dishonour and it was only by such a tremendous show of force and superior technology (the atom bomb) that they were able to convince japan otherwise. I'm not saying america did the right or wrong thing but this historical event does show similar relations to how cerberus conduct their operations. They are trying to protect and advance humanity irreguardless of the casulaties to other races.

Good and evil are relative terms, and the greatest progress is always throught the most extreme acts. Such as testing the first vaccine (a smallpox vaccine) on a child without going through clinical trials and testing. Resulting in more lives being saved and so following a somewhat utilatarian approach. So cerberus are justified so long as they suceed, since "we want what is useful not want is true"- Nietzsche.

Its clear to me that he is going to be the main baddie in ME3 besides the reapers and Harbinger. Basically if I have the chance to put a hole in his head, I'll do it even if it lowers my paragon score. Based on what his goals are, he doesn't seem evil, yet the Illusive Man and Cerberus intends to do everything in their power to put humanity ahead of the other species even if it means killing a few colonies.  I believe in the renegade ending of ME2 the Illusive Man will still betray you in ME3 since Shepard is a tool to him, which will soon be discarded once all of his goals are accomplished.
