Oops forgot to post my question....
Here goes:

Do you need xbox live to get the DLC content? I preordered the game for xbox360 but i do not have an xbox live account. I was never really interested in the multiplayer game scene so i never really need one.

Plus, I bought my xbox second hand and i remember the previous owner saying that it was modded or something like that... will that affect my access to the dlc content in-game?

Yes I think you need one since you have to go on the internet to download the DLC, but you can just create a silver account, it doesnt have to be a gold.

You need either Silver-enabled Account (complementary), or Gold-enabled Account (paid) to access anything on Live.

Is there a different alternative than xbox live? cuz i remember distinctly him saying that i might get banned if i even attempt to go on xbox live.

I mean, would i be able to just plug in an ethernet cable into the ethernet port and tell my xbox to search the interwebs? without the need of logging into live?

Unless they made a program on Disc that access directly the Bioware servers bypassing the need to log on xbox Live.

The only way you'd get banned for accessing Live, is if you have a JTAGed xbox or some other xbox mod that they can detect when in use on Live.


Buying a modded xbox was very silly. It may have already been banned from Live already.

But it won't be instantly banned, unless it is a very,very old mod. So you'll probably have enough time to get the free DLC in before you get the boot from Live.

I'm not assuming he bought a JTAGed xbox because those look OBVIOUSLY messed with, but it seems like he didn't really care about it being modded, perhaps in promises of free games? Also he seems to be a nooby to xbox anyway, so he may not have even seen one before,haha. Not that the latter can be possible unless he doesn't watch anything on TV with the billion commercials about them.

I figured theres no way he could ever mod an xbox with a question like that,so...

He could have illegaly downloaded ME2 and wants a way to get the dlc...Just a thought though.


Edit: Just realised he must have not downloaded it seeing as he is getting the Cerberus network, soz.

Why don't you just go online and find out? Either your box gets banned from Live, or it doesn't. If you already don't ever go online out of fear of it being banned, then what does it matter? Getting banned from Live doesn't lock the box out of offline play, does it?

Nope but you lose the option of installing a game in your hdd and there are some cases that this process messes up the system and you can´t even save the game.

One of my friends gave it to me a couple years ago, i didnt pay that much for it. I lost contact with him so i wouldnt be able to ask him if he can take it out or not. Im not sure if it is a JTAGed or not. It looks like a normal xbox imo.

other than the ones he gave me with the xbox, ive been buying my games ever since. ME1 only had a couple DLC - side quests etc. , so i really didnt mind. But ME2 with the cerberus network seems to be different. Id really hate to miss out on anything significant the cerberus network will give me.

Im afraid of the possibility that there may be a way to take the modded stuff out or turn it off, that i do not know about, and be too late to try.
