Of course. It would be nice to do something like this that I did in the ME trilogy
Anyone planning a "worst choices" world state?

I wanted to do this for Mass Effect so badly, but Bioware kept retconning out all the damned interesting plot branches.

Harrowmont + any ending is a bad one for the dwarves.
Pretty much all of the other endings are in a gray area about whether or not they're bad. Though I don't like Branka one tiny bit so I never save the Anvil no matter what.

I tried to play a world state where I killed all companions and picked the, in my opinion, worst options for the world. I couldn't hack it and bitched out like a little girl. ![]()

Nope can't do evil.Really sick people on the forums(Smileys won't work).I don't agree with Harrowmont + any ending is bad. My Dwarf noble got Harry to adopt his kid, later was reinstated as head of the Aducan (sp) clan, then later made a Paragon. When Harrowmont does kick the bucket, I should be looking pretty.

Ah, well then... Harrowmont plus any non-noble dwarf origin then.
All of the endings I've seen with him resulted in Exalted Marches getting called down on them or getting swallowed up by Darkspawn after shutting off the surface.

In terms of past companions does anyone has a list of who we can kill or turn away..

That would be pretty fun. Didn't save redcliff, killed all the dalish, sold out conner to the demon, sold out the little girl in shales village to the demon, killed shale to make more golems, made harrowmont king, made alistair a wandering drunk instead of a warden or king, killed zevran on his first attack, left sten in a cage, didn't let leliana join, killed all the mages
Killed all the elves again in da2
Man I don't even remember all the ways things can go absolutely terrible

I think some choices people just assume are bad. I killed The Architect in Awakening on the assumption that he was bad, but after DA2, I'm not so sure. Nathaniel implies the Wardens have a type of alliance, or at least line of open communication, with the intelligent darkspawn. It seems very possible that they're more morally grey.

The worst choice is mages in Circles and Chantry in power.

I'm actually hoping that many things that we think are optimal, can come back to bite our backsides as the Inquisitor. Of course, not in a "Haha, Katlyn's foundry was a disaster and it blew up and killed everyone in Denerim and now the game is a 1000x harder" type of way, but still. ![]()

Well many of the decisions are debatable as to which is the right decision but yes I may do this. My first play through is generally a "bad character although ofc he doesn't just make every evil decision for the sake of it. I base the decisions on the character, so some "good" decisions are still made, like saving the circle, not letting the elven slaves get killed and not killing companions when it can be avoided.
Anyway seeing as we have the keep I might try a play through like the one you suggest at some point.

I don't think there is a "worst choice" world state either, but here is my take on what might be the most complicated for a Inquisitor in case we have to face them:
DA:O
Annuling the circle: At least as far as mage support goes. I'd assume that this event will spice further opposition towards any institution.
Letting Zathrian live and killing the werewolves: Zathrian is a vengeful ahole and the epiloge mentions that his further existence doesn't actually benefit anyone.
Destroying the Anvil of the Void and Making Harrowmont King: This world state is more than lightly to make Orzammar to erupt into a civil war at some point.
Alistair executed and Loghain dies to the Archdemon: A more likely state for Ferelden erupting into armed conflict, without a beacon like Alistair to stand behind. As an exile he can at least not want the throne. As a Therin martyr he might be a problem for Ferelden.
DA:A
Recruiting Velanna, not befriending her and killing the architect: She will not do the world any favors.
Burning Ameranthine: Since it can be saved and the Vigil will be rebuilt faster.
Letting the Architect live: I just don't trust that one.
DA2
Killing Bartrand and letting Varric keep the idol: What I assume might effect him. And without Bartrand to use it on it might harm him more.
Both siblings dead: I hope that a surviving sibling might have some positive pull within their institution, so both dead = bad.
Letting the Arishok live: Just because not standing up to the Qunari is a bit weak.
Sparing Anders: He's posessed and it angers Sebby.
Siding with the mages: Kirkwall is left without any leadership.

Kirkwall is left without a leader in all cases as Hawke ditches that dump for mysterious reasons much like the Warden does whatever his/her ending is.

The problem with Origins is the world state is pretty awful for any origin other than your Warden. =p
Of course, when it comes to the Ferelden monarchy... there is no bad choice there. Anora is loved and respected no matter what the choice. Alistair is either capable, well-loved, or ruling jointly in harmony.
The only bad ending there would possibly be shutting Anora away and then letting Alistair die fighting the Archdemon?

Fergus would be King faster than you could say "Hail Cousland". Head of the most powerful Noble family in Ferelden, already groomed as heir to what amounts to a throne given the scope of Cousland holdings, proven capable of producing an heir (unlike the previous monarchs), and recently widowed through base treachery, making him the sympathetic vote and the practical one, since he's now available for a political marriage.
Add in potentially being the sibling of the Hero of Ferelden, and he's all but elected.

Doesn't Alistair specifically say that if he dies, Anora gets to be queen because the country will need a leader?

Yes he does, that's why he puts her away in the first place instead of executing her.
She also does become the Queen if Alistair dies, she holds the ceremony congratulating the Warden afterwards.

Not sure what really qualifies as a "worst" or bad choice in DAO (and I don't have many choices in DA2 anyways). Even the distasteful choices could have upsides. What if Connor is dead? Might save some trouble.. what if he becomes a liability? Not saying you should kill him, but I can't think of many thing in Dragon Age that give me a definite sense of failure. It depends on your perspective. Besides that, even if you killed Companions, they're alive anyways. Mass Effect has truly bad choices because you can kill off characters permanently. That doesn't seem to apply to Dragon Age in some cases.

Hmm, in DA2, I think the more, I guess "evil choices" would probably be somewhere along the lines of making Feynriel Tranquil, killing an nonnegotiable Fenris if you side with the mages, killing nonnegotiable Merrill if you side with the templars, siding with any of the templars in the end because despite each having good points, participating in ordered the massacre of people not involved in a singular terrorist act is pretty friggin' twisted, massacring the Sabrae clan if you can't talk them down, executing the Starkhaven apostates even after Grace is killed, possibly giving Varric the shard of red Lyrium, giving Isabela to the Arishok, ruin the life of the Gaurd-Captain, I feel like there might have been more there, but I don't remember what, not counting the DLC, because a lot of what happened in both of them is a given of things to come in either Inquisition or any other DA games/DLC's/expansions after that
