or (D)DRM, or other EA spyware that installs without notifying the customer, in this game?

Don't get me wrong, I'm a great Bioware fan eversince the good old Baldur's Gate days and have purchased loads of their games. But if ME2 comes with the same ****e ME1 did, it's a no-go for me. And so far I haven't found any info. As opposed to DA:O btw.
Actually the game's site is so crappy I couldn't even find a note concerning it's system requirements...

There was a stickied post on the old ME Forums that mentioned a simple disc check will be the only 'copy protection'. Of course that doesn't include the whole logging in with an account to access the Cerberus Network legitimately for DLC and such...which could be viewed as a method of deterring piracy/copy protection.

Exactly.

But for the OP, there is no DRM outside of a disc check. I can't remember if it's a SecuROM disc check or just a standard one, but the DRM on it is minimal in regards to the game files. The chances are that it'll function like DA:O in-game, so to access DLC content you have to register and sign in.

I don't really care about copy protection. What I DO care about however is spyware being installed on my rig without telling me and a means to prevent it. Especially if it's also capable of wrecking one's system the way SecuFock is.

I was hoping that they'd just use the same method they used in DA:O. Also I wouldn't mind the one time registering for updates and DLC.

Altough I won't purchase any DLC as long as I have to be connected to the I-Net while playing because otherwise the DLC wouldn't show. I mean if I purchase DLC I want it to show up no matter whether I have a working I-Net connection or not. Otherwise it's not "downloadable" content, it's "online available" content...

because some copy protection, while designed to reduce piracy, tends to do little more than irritate the paying customers while the pirates bypass it entirely. in extreme cases the copy protection can be more than just an irritation and screw up the system

Yep, it rewards the pirates and screws the paying customer.

Yes...you can´t break it and it will make you miserable when you try to install it on your PC.
