Am I the only one who thinks it would be, at the very least, extremely fun to have been able to persuade the Clone to join the Normandy to fight? Admittedly, it's a bit ridiculous, but the clone would make a great combat squadmate and could bring something of a nice dynamic to the Normandy crew.
Yes, it would mess a few things up, but think of some of the situations it would make possible, all the interactions.

Imagine all the jokes my crew can make on me because of my clone...
And, I am not sharing my LI with him !!!!! But I would love to store him in a stasis pod in case I need organs to replace with......

The clone sadly to say is the only one in the story less heroic than Shepard.
I would like Shepard to have had the option to give the keys to the Normandy to the Clone, and then take a vacation.
"You want to be the hero? Fine, be the hero! I'm going on vacation!"

Tell the clone to pick destroy so the real Shepard can survive without having the breath scene.

It's all fun and games until the clone tries to sleep with Shepard's LI and sitcom shenannigans ensue.
"Twins, Basil... Twins!"
I posted in another thread that cloneshep should have survived and assumed the identity of Solomon/Alison Gunn.

Only if the clone gives up that snazzy CAT6 armor.

TIM: Shepard, you're in my chair.
Clone Shep: Am I?
Illusive Man: Why are there two of you?
Both Shepards, in unison: Hello, Timmy. Come play with us, Timmy.
Illusive Man: Goddamnit Miranda.
Both Shepards in unison: For ever, and ever, and ever.

I think about it everyday, I even have their theme song as they bludgeon the Reapers (including the Catalyst) to death with the epicness:
Let's see, a singular Shepard can manage to chase down and kill the galaxies best Spectre, defeat a reaper in hand to hand combat(ala Saren Husk), cause a chain reaction which destroys a reaper, come back from the dead, personally defeat and annihilate an entire race of technologically advanced beings, cure the Genophage, create peace between the Quarians and Geth, destroy every Reaper, and boast the universes greatest model ship collection.
What could two do?

No. **** that guy. He broke the galaxy's one rule.
I'd have ventilated the back of his head via his face if he wasn't such a ***** when his hand got stomped on that he lost to gravity.
And Brooks sucked at outrunning a bullet as well.

The clone Shepard plot would have been so much better if there was a mess up at the lab and the clone was the opposite sex version. Make it a love interest and you bring true meaning to the term "go **** yourself".

That's one level below the main characters having a baby on the list of show killing jump the shark moments.

Heh, I actually think it would have been awesome if Ashley/Liara had Shepard's baby in between the events of Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2

No I too think the clone would have made an awesome squadmate. Or at least should have been able to serve aboard the Normandy.

Is it possible to mod Clone Shep as a squadmate? Or is it out of the picture?
I've never modded for ME, is adding squadmates possible?

I looked at it as my Shep having a identical twin sister which I thought would be awesome since she didn't have any family for several years. Having her as a squad mate would have rocked. As for ME3 mods there are not that many over on the Nexus and the ones they do have are mostly casual outfits. Over the years BW has become less supportive of the modding community which is sad.
