In the entire game there's only two 12-charm checks, of which one can be lowered by using charm/intimidate earlier (Saren on Virmire).

 

-Yeong (or however that's spelled) at Feros

-Saren before the final battle (which thus be lowered to 10 or 9 when charming/intimidating on Virmire)

 

This is irrelevant though, because there are so many instances in which you get Paragon points for free. Saving the Feros colonists (+2 each), doing their missions (+8 each), helping Kirahhe (+20 total).

 

Well, you forgot about an assignment 'Noveria: Espionage'. I usually refuse it for extra paragon points but generally it requires 12 Charm/10 Intimidate to complete it.

 

I know that during and after Feros I get a lot of Paragon boost. What I meant is, if I want to complete Feros before Noveria (because it feels right in terms of story and gameplay), I CAN persuade Jeong if I have 10 Intimidate (Renegade - 25%) but there's no way to accumulate 75% Paragon for 12 Charm without using Console if I want to let him live on my first mission world.

You can actually complete Noveria: Espionage without using Charm or Intimidate--or at least with a minimum Charm/Intimidate to pass the first check, then by picking the right responses. Alternatively, you can accept the quest from the Asari, then give the device to the guy, then go back and use Charm/Intimidate on the Asari for extra credits.

 

As for Jeong on Feros, I usually do that mission near the end of the game to ensure I have enough Charm/Intimidate to pass the check if I want to pass that check. (Sometimes I just feel like shooting the guy so it does not matter,)

Noveria: Espionage requires 6 charm or 8 intimidate at break-in (no, that's not a mistake. It requires more intimidate).

Lorik Qu'inn requires 5 charm/intimidate.

 

You're right on Jeong though. I've never charmed the guy. If you're dead set on charming him, you better do Feros as late as possible.

Yeah I tend to do Feros last these days.

 

Dunno why Ethan Jeong is the hardest check in the game.  10 Intimidate or 12 Charm.

I do Feros first and if I can't get Jeong to stand down(only been able to once) then I have no problem killing him

The one time I used intimidate on Jeong I didn't like the dialogue. Decided to just off the dude from then on, even if I had the necessary persuasion points.

 

Story-wise, Feros seems like a logical first destination since 1) we know for certain there are Geth there and 2) a human colony is in danger and we might still be able to get there in time to do something about it. Noveria seems to be the least pressing destination since all we have are rumors of Geth activity there.
