I've been wanting to fool around with the idea of a fully-dedicated melee Juggernaut for a while and to my surprise, it's extremely satisfying and doesn't slouch at all in effectiveness. Even without your measly durability evos, he can hold it down for the entire map. I've never taken the Juggernaut for a serious try without slapping adrenaline mods on, and combined with the speed boost melee evo, you get more than enough leeway to go absolutely apeshit on the field. Downfalls? Yes, there are some. Boss killing speed isn't going to be anything impressive, and you HAVE to make sure you don't bite off more than you can chew. Hex shield and the turret should be covering your flank when the going gets rough. Hell, abuse Hex Shield whenever you feel you need it. The damage boost is always welcome and it trolls stupid dragoons all day.

Probably the most fun way I've played ol' Juggy (imo)

I take no credit for the build, found this shi on youtube

I personally never enjoyed playing the Juggy (regardless of the builds I used), that character is just way too slow for my playstyle.

I dunno.. The last time I tried a melee build,I failed miserably... Which is all the reason why I find it surprising to see so many melee juggs

I don't always play a Juggernaut (*), but when I do, I'd rather take advantage of the weapon damage and stability bonuses rather than slowly stall one thing at a time and depend on teammates to do the actual damage.

(*) Hate the kit as too slow and boring, so pretty much only picked it up for Juggernaut or Spitfire challenges.  If I want to tank... well, now I've got the Kroguard, which is far more fun.

Who says?

Anyone who plays on a large map, such as Dagger, Condor, London, and Rio, with teammates who know what they're doing.

Unless you mean bringing the pain to yourself, in which case I stand corrected.

If you are using an Adas you deserve a time-out anyway.

What? It's almost like the Dubstep gun from Saints' Row IV, just not as ridiculously overpowered.

I only block warp balls/atlas missiles/etc with it, if anything. Otherwise, it's sitting there away from the action giving me my damage boost. Your misplaced tears sustain my lifeblood. And it's tiny, is there a problem here?

Isn't his damage bonus exactly the same as that of almost any other non-soldier character?

Does Batarian Gauntlet even work on Jugg (I don't have it so can't see for myself)? Does it not break the unique heavy melee mechanics of Jugg?

...make sure you don't bite off more than you can chew.

...

However, had you specced the Juggy in a sensible fashion ... there's no such thing as "more than you can chew" (except triple Scions spawns on Hydra or similar).

Really big gun, Incendiary ammo, Siege Pulse to detonate. *shrugs*

Either weapon platform or Batarian Gauntlet for the Juggernaut. Anything else is boring in my opinion.

Isn't his damage bonus exactly the same as that of almost any other non-soldier character?

Does Batarian Gauntlet even work on Jugg (I don't have it so can't see for myself)? Does it not break the unique heavy melee mechanics of Jugg?

No, the Juggernaut gets 15% stability and 15% spare ammunition instead of a headshot bonus. Additionally he is getting a 5% geth weapon bonus from Geth Juggernaut 6B.

The Batarian Gauntlet works on every character (even on Krogan Warlord). It just looks ridicolusly funny on the Juggernaut, but makes him unable to regenerate shield with its Heavy Melee.

Get rid of the turret. Max for weapon damage,

Siege Pulse for 40% damage reduction, max shields and fitness. make a large strong hex shield.

Put on a shield boost gear or melee and shield, melee or shotgun III amp, hard hitting ammo and Cyclonic modulator or adrenaline mod.If you are playing with decent teammates you won't need a cyclonic modulator as they will kill things fast enough.

All the mooks die pretty quickly to a melee jugg. Even a brute dies relatively fast if you melee, fire 6 pirannah shots into it, reload cancel by meleeing again and shoot again.....

I just grab a pyro, start meleeing it then cut it short and finish it with the pirannah and siege pulse. Once your powers are recharged, if its safe you should be firing that siege pulse at will, pirannah and melee all in harmony with a reload cancel on ps3 anyways...Same thing with phantoms and everything that isn't a boss.

...

And it doesn't take that long to kill a boss compared to some classes. If you had to solo against a prime (other boss) you will lose time in the fact that you have to take cover/dodge and recharge your powers and avoid his pinpoint accurate cannons. A jug stands there, melees, hits him in the face with 6 pirannah shots, reload cancels and melees again....Some classes go quicker than others though....

Holding down circle gets boring but its a guaranteed extraction in a platinum pug...

I have one hint about this. You are immune to stagger when in reload animations.
Now if you're using the reegar for example, then you are vulnerable to be staggered anytime while you're firing.
This is why I find claymore perfect for Juggs. The shoot/reload intervals are the same in length meaning either you'll be doing massive damage or, if you can r/c well, you'll be imune to stagger.
This way it's easy to brawl even with praetorians, and in addition you have less than 3 shots to make it fall back from full barrier.
The only thing I'd advise is to not enter melee with an empty barrel.
For mooks this means easy head shots and also OHKs.
