So I am counting down the grueling days until ME2's arrival and I am reading and watching everything I can until that time, which includes reading Mass Effect: Ascension.  If you haven't read it, the book itself goes into great detail about the Flotilla.

That information, coupled with what I have read and seen about it makes the Flotilla one of the most interesting aspects of the ME universe for me right now.

A society where everyone shares everything, the idea of hording material objects being as alien as they invariably are underneath their Quarian enviro-suits, and the way they all look out for each other.  It sounds so fascinating.  This idea of thousands of roving ships of every imaginable size and design moving together, surrounding three gigantic Lie Ships sounds like a wonderous sight.  One that i really hope ME2 does justice for.

It has given me a tremendous amount of respect for the Quarian race as a whole and I am extremely interested in traveling to the Flotilla as Commander Shepard!

The only real point to this discussion would be a good natured discussion of the Quarian race and the Flotilla, I just want to hear what everyone else thinks about what I find to be the coolest part of Mass Effect right now.

Edit:

Do you think a part of ME2 might involve helping the Quarian race find a suitable series of livable planets?  because that would be damned interesting.  I just found out that the Flotilla is slowly dying and in 80 to 90 years it will be failing completely.  I hope you get to help!

I'm Intrested,

Through all of ME1 Tali was our only Quarian,I'm intrigued to see more of them and espcially the Flotilla itself.

What I hope for most, Is the ability to recruit Legion first then Travel for Tali's Hearing,Ah I can see it now.

I haven't read any of the books, but just from the way Tali talks about it in ME1, you have to have a great amount of respect and admiration for the Quarian people. The strong bonds between their people and the way they all contribute to life on the Flotilla is really quite awesome....

Specifically, I'm excited to see firsthand what the Quarian people are like. To talk with other Quarians than Tali(Although admittedly Tali is the best) would be simply awesome.

I just hope we're given a decent sized area of one of the ships from the Flotilla to explore and not just a couple of repetitive rooms and corridors.

Probably not the best move taking a Geth to the Flotilla... but an interesting event for sure.
Personally I quite like the Quarians - not really because of their socialistic society - and the idea of a Flotilla sounds very interesting to me. A lot more interesting than a planet-oriented species at least. :P

Flotilla was a large disapointment, I was expecting something of the size of a starwars starcruiser or death star size?!

The quarians aren't filthy rich. They can't afford moon-sized, planet-destroying space stations. The liveships are extremely huge in their own right, but why should you want to run around endless corridors of identical hydroponic farms?

The area should still have been larger. Plus it should have been more populated then it was, and there should have been a merchant.
The story missions, that you go on in the Flotilla are great. The design just wasn't.

Why? You only were given access to the trial hall. Do you really think that the quarians would let Cerberus operatives run around their ships with impunity, allies or not, after what happened in the Ascension?

And the quarians don't have merchants in their vessels - if they don't need some items, they put them in a big pile, and anybody who wants them can just take what they need. Having lots of possessions is not beneficial in a ship where you are lucky to have two square meters to sleep on.

I was hoping at least to be able to buy equipment.

They spend all their time in suits and it would be next to impossible to sterilize a whole ship anyway.  They might as well have something nice to look at.

We have many examples of large zones, for example Omega, Flotilla could have been similar.

If you read the books, the portrayal of Flotilla in ME2 falls right in line with them. Saying you were expecting something grand or for there to be merchants on board goes against everything that is explained to you of Quarian culture.

Ascension explains that the quarians live in extremely crowded conditions; families share extremely small living spaces converted from former storage spaces that offer little privacy. In those conditions hoarding possessions is futile, since lots of stuff just means less space for you. Because of this the quarians share almost everything; anything they don't need at the moment is stored communally, and anybody can take what they need. Only food and medicine are carefully rationed.

Hence there is no commerce within the Flotilla, or any large empty spaces for that matter.
