Favorate assault rifle: NONE!

Tried them all, they are either too heavy, too weak or run out of ammo too quick. What's your favorate assault rifle? Why and how do you use it??

Not a big fan of ARs in general, but if I have to pick one, it'd be the saber.

The Lancer. It has decent DPS, good accuracy and it never ever runs out of ammo.

Saber. Put it on the Turian Soldier, Quarian Marksman, or Geth Engineer and pop lots of heads. 

 

Runner ups: PPR, Typhoon, and a little bit of the Valkyrie.

Saber.  I think some people overrate it a little, but it does have a satisfying sound, hits hard, and has a decent amount of ammo for its damage/fire rate.

 

When I'm low on consumables, I go TGI Saber and Warfighter Package and always have a good game.

Edit: OP I think the Saber is the gun for you: it is light enough to be carried by casters without messing with cooldowns, has a respectable amount of reserve ammo and hits like a truck. My advice would be go for the head (duh), it may seem like common sense but with the Saber it's more critical than with any other AR. It's even worth taking a few seconds to line up a HS rather than let off 2 or 3 body shots.

For console gaming, the bit I've played, at least, my favourite AR is the N7 Valkyrie, because it doesn't let me use up too much ammo. I suck at aiming, you see.

For PC, Saber, followed by Mattock. Not the best ARs out there, but I have a soft spot for them and I am not exactly bad at using them with any characters that need to stay back, but not too far back. I have the Saber on my TGI and my QMI.

 

Look-wise, my favourite is the Revenant, but I stopped using it after I got its achievement.

Either the avenger, phaeston or lancer. They are all solid, reliable weapons. Jack-of-all-trades, master of none.

I'm not a big AR fan either.  The Harrier is probably the best.  I think that if I had the Lancer at X instead of I, it would definitely be my favorite AR.

Always the Saber - first UR I ever unlocked, first UR I maxed out. I pair it with my TGI, GE and when I'm running with a L1 character so I can still pack a decent punch.

 

Also honorable mentions to the Mattock, the Valkyrie and the Lancer. Unlike some other posters, I love ARs.

No doubt the Typhoon. I like machine guns and guns with huge clips. I use it on tanky characters who are not vulnerable to being staggered.

I've never not had a great time using the Saber or Striker. I also used to hate the Adas but I like it more than most guns on the marksman classes
