Okay, so I was replaying Dragon Age 2 when I realized something. Even though the shem caused modern elves to lose their immortality, some elves from the age of Arlathan are still resting in Uthenera. Merrill does state that they are no longer resting peacefully.

So that implies that they can be waken, right? I'm sure there's a Dalish ritual to do so that had been forgotten by the Dalish. I'd like to see a quest to find an elf in Uthenera in the Dales or elsewhere. I think it would be a really neat quest for those of us who love Elven lore.

Hmmm, nice idea. Seeing as we are visiting the dales it does seem like a possible and interesting quest. What would be really interesting would be the implications. what would these Elves think of their race's current position? would they bring back ancient knowledge? Would they incite their race to have a revolution?

That would be a great way to work on freeing or keeping the elves imprisoned (depending on the PC's choice).

It would definitely be an interesting edition.

And if it's too late to add it to the main game, a future dlc a la Legacy that allows the PC and their party to travel to a new land and uncover new secrets would be great.

Very good idea. Also a very good opening to add something downright creepy into the story. Those sleeping elves might not be pretty or nice, anymore...

I imagine those elves would look gaunt and possibly mummified.

I imagine that uthenera is just a death myth that the Dalish confused with immortality. There is still no proof that elves actually used to be immortal and until there is I refuse to believe they were.
