To actually contribute: I really want to see Dagna back. It'd be nice to see Lanaya too, especially if the Dalish boon was granted. Connor would be nice to see if he lived.

From DA2 it'd be nice to see some mage survivors of Kirkwall. Alain, Terrie, Ella? I'd like to see some Templars too, but I'm not going to name anyone.

I'm expecting to see characters like Anora/ Alistair and Bhelen/ Harrowmont, especially with the political side of the game, building alliances etc. It'd be interesting to see how the leaders my warden put in charge are getting on, especially with the current veil tear and Mage/ Templar crisis going on.

So I guess Sandal is out then?  He had an easter egg that was very loosely related to the plot that the player had a literal 1% chance of finding.  And he rarely makes any sense.

More on topic, I'd love to see Sandal and Bohdan return.  Sandal seems like a pretty safe guess, but Bohdan was getting up there at the end of DA2.  I hope the poor guy didn't have a heart attack and die off-screen.

Nah, Bodahn was just an old dwarf.  I doubt Sandal would have been involved.  He probably would have cried really hard, and need someone to hold him.

Sebastian. I think he would work really well in Inquisition considering how mad pissed he is at the end of DA2. I really want a vengeful "IN THE NAME OF THE MAKER" Sebastian with a big army who's just ruthless without being a looney.
