The last month in terms of creative outlets for Sony and it's flagship machine (PS4) and it's 1st party devs, is, at the very least. Dwindling. The latest layoff and departure is from the Precipice of Sony 1st party devs. The dev that many consider to have developed some of the greatest games ever made.

Naughty Dog. Now the creative Director (That would be like Casey Hudson) is leaving.....

http://www.forbes.co...es-naughty-dog/

This. Is. Not. Good.

Really not much else to be said. Being that the fiscal year is almost up, and layoffs are abound for the junk stock that is Sony, this on the outside, shouldn't be shocking.

However, Playstation is a different beast. It has always been profitable for Sony. ALWAYS. Now the PS4 is an incredible machine and Sony is literally throwing them at you for the price.

And that's the problem. Their ultra competitive price point, has literally already won them the fabled "console war" but its also hurting them.

They are not making a return.

7 million units, too microsoft's 4 million. That's pretty cut and dry and is indictive to where gamers are going this gen.

But........ Microsoft has MADE MORE MONEY on the XB1, they are seeing a larger return in revenue. BOOM.

Game. Set. Match.

PlayStation is in BIG trouble methinks.

Many think e3 is really important for Microsoft to "gain some ground" and "catch up to Sony".

WRONG. This years E3 is the most important E3 in the history of PlayStation. It's go big, or go home time for PlayStation.

Sony needs a turnaround. Cause it ain't looking good.

side note- I am not a fanboy. I own a PS3, XB360, XB1, PS4, and PC. Just the facts. The PS4 is without a doubt the better gaming machine of the next gen consoles. It's also the best deal and best "bang for your buck". Xbox One offers more multimedia services. WiiU.... Well, I mean. Yeah. It's there I guess, lol.

Thoughts???

My solution.

Everyone go buy a PS4.

No, no. Seriously. Go buy one now, while there still 400 bucks.

Cause..... a price hike is going to happen. It may, and very likely will come in a bundle, probably an uncharted or God of War bundle or the mysterious "Morpheus" tech. But it will be a price hike. You won't be able to get a PS4 for 400 bucks for very much longer. So the time to buy is now.

yep. Two from Naughty Dog and 1 from GOW series (don't know who). I was super surprised. Consider those 2 are directors for Uncharted 4, the games is probably gonna be delayed.

Seeing how big a deal Uncharted/Naughty Dog is to Sony, I don't like where this is heading. I hope I am worrying too much, but there isn't really much stuff going on for Sony right now. Infamous might be good, but it is not generating even enough buzz like Titanfall.

1) It's not $400 everywhere. Here it's more around $1000.

2) I'm not impressed with the line-up of titles so far.

3) They're bound to release a better version of the console with the feedback from users.

4) If they do raise the price... well, I refer you to my first point.

It's hard to tell if there is something internally wrong with Sony. Perhaps they just wanted a change of pace or there was something volatile going on in studio. Until they tell us why we won't really know, business is really confusing if you don't have the details.

Price hike?

Hahahaha!!

I'll wait for another year and buy one when it's $300.

Price hike?

Hahahaha!!

I'll add on to this sentiment with a "Lol what?" in reference to this mystical price hike. Not only is it stupid, but it's also stupid.

Never planned on getting a PS4 and I don't plan to now. I wanted an X1 from the start and I'm stickin' to it.

$400? For that much money, I could upgrade my PC to something that would do Crysis 5 or The Witcher 4 justice.

Were you not around for the PS3?

Anyways Sony has been in trouble for years and is trying to turn the ship around.

These could just be unrelated personnel changes that seem like something more because of problems elsewhere at the company. No reason to panic.

Sony has been doing well for the past few years, if I remember correctly, except for that whole hacking mishap and their initial launch price - otherwise, solid exclusives, hardware (except for that PSP-GO) and other aspects hold to them well.

I was never really a fan of the uncharted series, first two were excellent and I didn't like the third one, so as long as the team from TLOU is still kept intact, I don't really see this as a big deal, though I hope Justin finds something for the future.

The wait will also be worth it for the bigger hard drives.

First, PS4 is nothing special.

Second it is defiantly not $400. More like $600 which quite frank is a rip-off for a hyped PS3.

Third for the price of one of these new consoles, I could upgrade my PC from crushing XB1/PS4 to annihilating them.

IMHO PS4=PS3 with more p2p features.

First, it's true it's not, nor is any other console or PC.

I didn't pay no where near 600$ closer to 400, plus I already have a kick-ass PC - also by p2p, do you mean pay to play?

The one huge difference between PS3 and PS4 is that you have to pay a subscription like XB360/XB1.

PS3 was always free to play online.

I'm acutally leaning towards the Xbone.  :P

And I've no intention of buying either until a price drop.

How long did you really expect that to last?

I have had 3 XB360s.

They all in total lasted a year. There is no way I would sink anymore money in one of them.

So why didn't you use that money to upgrade that "PC"?
