How long did you really expect that to last?

I never said I expected it to last. The thing is that on PS4 you have to pay for the exact thing that is free on the PS3. Same community. Same quality.

So why didn't you use that money to upgrade that "PC"?

Because I had a piece of crap at the time and I hadn't pulled my head out of my butt to realize how much better PC is.

Mine has lasted me a long time and yes the PC is better, but the 360 is just fine.

My opinion is probably more biased though because I loved my PS2 dearly and used the crap out of that brick. The 360 is very unreliable IMHO my controllers were all worn out and the damn RRoD claimed all three of them.

Well it's all subjective experience. My 360 has been going strong for 5 years now without many issues while a friend of mine has been through 5 of the damn things.

All I know is compared from the jump from PS2 to PS3 was HUGE.

The jump from PS3 to PS4 was like maybe 1 or 2 steps.

Where in the article did it state the amount of capital sony or microsoft made, for you to make your assessment that microsoft is doing economically better with their gaming platform, despite selling less of them? Assuming there were less units sold by microsoft, since there isn't a source for those numbers as well. Though that I will give you the benefit of the doubt given it is most likely publically accessible knowledge.

My solution.

Everyone go buy a PS4.

No, no. Seriously. Go buy one now, while there still 400 bucks.

Cause..... a price hike is going to happen. It may, and very likely will come in a bundle, probably an uncharted or God of War bundle or the mysterious "Morpheus" tech. But it will be a price hike. You won't be able to get a PS4 for 400 bucks for very much longer. So the time to buy is now.

Why the hell would I want to buy one of those damned things when I have more than enough gaming stacked up on my PC to last me for years? And why would I give a fiddler's fart about Sony? Seriously, of all the companies on the planet, Sony is probably the top of my list of  "avoid buying this company's products if at all possible".

And yeah, $400? With taxes, the best I've seen it around here is closer to $500. Not that I care, mind you.

The system is 400 bucks here in the states. I don't know about UK or the rest of the world.

That is cheap, I think both next gen consoles are cheap.

I play PC, and when I here all the PC guys say it's cheaper to game in 1440p or "4K" and play all the games on Ultra, and so on and so on.

I laugh.

To do these things, for say, Battlefield 4, to run the game on Ultra at 1080p and 60 frames.

You would need at least a 760GTX. The 2Gb version is around 270 bucks. Then you need a quad core, probably an i5 to avoid bottle-necking and probably an ivybridge 3570 would suffice. That's another 230ish bucks.

Okay, so now we've passed 500 bucks for just the GPU and CPU. Throw in a quality MOBO, PSU, RAM, peripherials, good chasis, and you're looking at easily 1,000 bucks.

Now you could building a "gaming" pc for probably around 600 bucks that could possibly run BF4 at 1080p on maybe, MAYBE medium or high setting depending on if you tweek things. But.... Yeah.

And console exclusives are better than anything on PC. We got what, Starcraft and some MMO's..... All the once PC games have gone to consoles long ago. PC has great indie games like Insurgency(masterpiece) but... Yeah.

Steam is the real kicker tho. And is the only thing PC related that is a bargain compared to consoles.

But that is going to change, especially for PSN.  No digital distribution service will ever be as good as steam, but I can see PSN making a little headway in the future.

like I said, PS4 delivers the most bang for your buck.

I did actually back in september build a PC for a bud that was 650 bucks give or take that can run BF4 at 1080p, medium/high setting and 40-60 frames most of the time-

GPU- 650ti OC 2GB, think it was by Gigabyte.

CPU- intel core I5 3350p

HD-WD blue 1 TB

RAM- 8GB corsair vengeance.

PSU- Corsair builder CX 430 watt

Mother Board- MSi B75ma P-45

DD- Asus 24x DVD

cooling- Corsair Master Hyper

Case- Rosewill Dual Micro ATX mini.

The above is for a point. That build was about 650 bucks give or take.

Kicker is.

The PS4 version of BF4 too me.

Looks better than this dudes rig can run it.....

He... doesn't like to hear it, lol.

And we're not into peripherals and control and sound (apart from frames of course) are the "it" factor is separating scrubs from skilled player in FPS, especially on PC.

All said and done, he dropped around 800 bucks to join the "PC master race".

like I said, "bang for your buck" you can't beat PS4.

"Bang for your buck" - you can do so many things on your PC, bangin' - that you can't do on a yee-yee ass console, just sayin' and this is coming from someone who already owns a PS4 and I don't regret it.

Also, I can run BF4 on Ultra with my 660ti - plus, overtime, you can pratically spend 600-800 dollars on a really good PC, just making sure you find good sales, get money back, etc.

There is no way in Sony's right mind they are going to BRING up the price, when look at their "competition" - X1 - the price is not helping.

Regardless, this shouldn't be a console war, each system has certain things, more so "games" that people consider more than hardware itself, at least in my mind.  My PC does way more than gaming exclusive, so...

This is just shamefully stupid on so many levels. Just stop talking. Bang for you buck? That's just the system itself! Selection right now is AWFUL and the games are all pricey.  Games are the BANG, not the cost of the system. I'd have to pay $520 for two half-decent games with the system. Plus tax. It's a horrible financial decision.

Next, I don't CARE about running everything on max settings.  I really do not. Consoles are more convenient to use, but that convenience has been fading away, more and more by generation. I already have a decent PC, I can do stuff on it besides game, and I don't have to pay $60 for subpar nonsense because nothing good is out yet for it. I don't have to worry about the generation barrier, and I don't have to worry about always online nonsense.

Right now its $400 for a damn near useless brick.

7 million units, too microsoft's 4 million.

Those were your exact words OP.

It cost 400 for a PS3, and 500 for a Xbone.

500 X 4 = 2000

400 X 7 = 2800

2,800,000,000 for Sony, 2,000,000,000 for Xbone.

Sony made 800,000,000 more then microsoft with their system.

"Microsoft has MADE MORE MONEY on the XB1, they are seeing a larger return in revenue. BOOM."

Shameful Display.

Shameful Display. Don't even try to pull that manufacturing cost bullshit either, we all know its bullshit, they cost pretty much the same to produce, in fact the xbone with its required kinect software might make it a wee more expensive to produce then a ps4.

It's hilarious to see the self-proclaimed "PC master race" in such deep denial about the irrelevancy of their platform.

Every time they ruin another conversation with their bitching about "fps this" and "resolution that" I just laugh because I know they will never EVER be getting more than 0 fps and 0p in great games like Red Dead Redemption, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Dragon's Dogma.

Enjoy Goat Simulator while the rest of us are playing games of the generation like Final Fantasy XV and Metal Gear Solid 5. Don't even bother Kojima with a port begging petition, after all 685,000 signatures couldn't even get you GTA V.

As you drown under a tsunami of Greenlight indie garbage and washed up MOBAs, remember that you guys did this to yourselves. It was your greed, your refusal to ever stop pirating games, that destroyed PC gaming to the point that Gone Home, a pretentious walking sim, was your 2013 GOTY.

by the way, I just bought BB stock.  So everyone go buy a new blackberry because they're the most secure.  Given the price drops on the Z10 & Z30, their ability to  sideload android apps on BB10 OS and their super sexy polished finish; they're clearly the best bang for your buck right now.

Plus when your boss sees your phone, you can make comments like "I wanted a phone that would focus on work and productivity, not a toy".  which will land you that raise, company car and life you always wanted.  So go buy one naow!

(disclaimer: I actually really like the Z30)

This is nothing more then a Xbone fanboy thread. Sony sells 3 million more consoles and Xbox makes more revenue? Lololol! Laughable.

$500 x 4 million
$400 x 7 million

Mathematics.

Is that really ruled out though? A later PC release is common with GTA.
