because I want to see what progression is like with all DLC installed from the start.

I understand wanting to experience it firsthand, but you could have just asked me :P

Answer: it sucks. I've been playing Gold since I had about 100 hours, and I still have 54 URs to unlock.

Having done the Alt account thing before it was fashionable.  I know what it's like to have next to no consumables and the mental anguish that comes from trying to decide should I use that last AP 3 or could we manage with me just using Cryo 2. Especially PUGing as that was what I mainly used it for.

If you don't have much it is understandable, but even still you can slap on a level 1 or 2 consumable to show that you are at least committed with what you can spare.

I agree, it's fully your choice to equip and obviously not all people who don't equip don't play well. It's just from my own experience pugging platinum, that the majority of those who don't use equipment are also not often willing to use gels. As FireRider mentioned, it sort of demonstrates your commitment to the team and to the game. Not using equipment (or missile glitching) is the only reason I will kick from a game. I don't care if they're N7 1 (ok i know, they may not have equipment at N7 1 :P), if they equip, I won't kick them. Gold or silver, well I don't really care.. I only pug plat :P

It depends on overall strategy as well, I had no problem using gels/rockets etc.

I am a speed runner, so like using rockets and I dont buy equipment packs I buy recruit packs for the experience.

I must say I never expected to go soo good with the new account but I guess the RNG gods love me, only 13 to go.
Wraith and Indra are racing to see which one will be the last UR.

I started doing speed runs, immediately after the game ran out. The group I played with (I was the only developer) started playing golds on day 1.

We set the gold speed run record back on March 22 with a time of 17:17 (I think it lasted about a week and a half)

I love old videos of what the game was at release.  Very interesting to see how some gameplay mechanics have changed over time.  It is a little crazy watching banshees get melted while in walking mode without ever putting up their barriers to projectile powers.

Also, funny seeing the vindicator in a speed run.  I do miss the days of biotic squads dominating the speedrun metagame.

Vindicator was pretty good before power creep set in. There was a time where it was the most balanced weapon in the game.

Not so sure on that.  It always felt out of place to me compared to many other weapons.  It's combination of lack of accuracy, recoil and slow ROF always kept it low for me in terms of quality compared to other options.  I will agree that it was better by comparison to weapons at launch, but it was by no means and ideal performer in speedrunning.

Keep in kind mind I said balanced, not best. Vindicator was the jack of all trades weapon. It could perform any role, but didn't really excell in any particular one.

I am not sure what you are getting at. I will be the first to admit there are people that are far better at this game than I

You will see this quite often on BF.  It is not a challenge, just a way of saying "let's play a game".

... I would always save my items thinking that their would be a point when they are more effective.

...

Time to recalibrate that viewpoint, old man*.  No way you'll ever use all of them and even packing a level one ammo amp will speed up game play.  Smoke 'em if you got 'em, I say.

I come from the background of old style RPGs where I would always save my items thinking that their would be a point when they are more effective.

You dont have to put up money to want to succeed.

You are free to kick me all the same, its your choice, as it is mine.

Who would kick a developer from their lobby?  :o  I would consider running into a developer as finding the Holy Grail.

I almost ninja joined brojo last night, but decided against it, since some people apparently hate ninja joiners  and I have no idea which camp he's in...

Just read the previous posts to find out. Oddly enough I wouldn't have kicked in that situation as it's just 4 random people getting together; you can't have any expectations. Maybe that's what the problem was, seeing the developer banner gives a higher expectation, so I naturally assumed the equipping of consumables, as experience tells you can't help but accumulate them and they are beneficial even at level 1.
