And it seems only those who do not pay attention to news about this game can manage to avoid the misleading information and hype pitfalls of the franchise.

Praise be to those who remain unaware.

My best friend is this way. Precious little will well and truly risk disappointing any sort of expectation for him going in.

Well no Kirkwall. No mummies dancing in a creepy ballroom. :(

I'm mostly annoyed by the whole misinformation thingie, because I'd rather not having the devs spreading themselves too thin and visiting multiple countries = those countries would feel small anyway.

And so far we've seen interesting and different landscapes : desert , marsh ,simple  forest , jungle etc...it's still there. :wizard:

The devs already stated that we'll visit Orlais and Ferelden. They never stated that there's be other regions. We thought that they were hiding something, but it wasn't their fault that we thought that or that the damn magazine misunderstood (or outright put assumption as confirmations).

My assumption was based on the map shown in the demo showing Navarra and the Free Marches, never making that kind of assumption again

I made the same assumption, but I was never sure (until OXM <_<). They never promised more than Ferelden and Orlais.
I really wonder how the OXM assumed that info. Did they use the PAX demo map and assumed things?

Without reading the actual article with my own eyes it is hard to say. I would imagine Game Informer should have a preview of DAI this month so that should clear things up. I have always trusted their journalistic integrity.

Wait, that also means no Starkhaven! Boo! I thought for sure that Starkhaven would be mixed up in this, considering Sebastian's reaction at the end of DA2.

Ah, that's a bummer. I was looking forward to meeting the Pentaghast family. Oh, well.

Do these guys not have a tape recorder? Why are they making so many mistakes?

Sucks that we're not visiting Neverra and the Free Marches, if it were me I'd drop Ferelden and pick another new country to visit.

Wow, I am pretty disappointed. I got my knickers in a twist over Nevarra and now I have to untwist them.

I'm actually pretty enraged by all the mistakes the article's been making.

Morrigan's returning as a party member - NOPE.

Well be visiting Nevarra and the Free Marches - NOPE

We''ll be visiting each region's capital - I'm not going to believe that either now.

What's next? A dev telling us the Emerald Graves don't even exist and OXM making that up?

I mean.... have these journalists been sleeping during their preview session?

Also correct: that map is false. It was user-constructed just the other day based on the assumption of OXM fact-checking.

I vaguely remember similar map being shown at early presentations/talk of DA:I (with the DA2 area invoking much laugher from the audience) so the BS factor was there, and it's not just "incompetent journalists" at fault here...

They shown a map similar during the PAX demo, as a loading screen, yes. How is it a confirmation that Nevarra and the FM were in the game?

Not just a loading screen. It was part of the talk, along the lines of "DAO had this, map, DA2 had this map (lolol), in DAI you're going to travel all over thiiiiiis". If the information coming straight from the devs is suddenly not good enough to count as confirmation, then you may as well apply this logic to every single thing they've shown you so far. Including companion information and everything else. In any case the point was, the BS was there and as such maybe the blame shouldn't be put solely on reporters -- for all you know, they could report what they were actually told.

Nope, they didn't say that at all. They didn't event 'show' the map. It was a loading screen, during which they stated that DAI couldn't be restrained in a single contry. They never stated that we'll go to Nevarra and FM.
And the comparison with DAO and DA2 was made at the start of the game when they said that Crestwood (or whatever area) is larger than DAO and DA2.

No biggie if we don`t get to see Nevarra or the Free Marches (again) in DA:I. It just leaves more places open for future games.

Crestwood is just larger than DA2. Not Origins and DA2.

I'm not talking of PAX demo but earlier presentation.

It's a bit disappointing we can't go and meet Cassandra's family, but Orlais is huge so it's not that big a deal in the end. BW wants to let us visit the other countries another time.

Rather aggravating that OXM is handing out false information though.

I'm not talking of PAX demo but earlier presentation.

So you mean the PAX Prime 2012 presentation, when they shown that map. When the game wasn't even formally announced, or we knew anything about the game. And you count that as confirmation that the game would've been set in those nations?
Plus, I don't recall what they actually stated. I remember that there were speculations about it, but I don't remember that they stated that all those were DA3 locations.

Crestwood is just larger than DA2. Not Origins and DA2.

Sorry, I didn't mean that it was bigger than both. I mean individually (though I don't recall of they stated DAO).
