Agreed.Rather aggravating that OXM is handing out false information though.
Nevarra and The Free Marches will not be visited in Inquisition.

I count it as information released about the upcoming game, the first info released to the public about it, in fact. If you don't even remember what was stated and what wasn't, why do you waste both yours and my time arguing whether it could be taken as confirmation of things to come or not?So you mean the PAX Prime 2012 presentation, when they shown that map. When the game wasn't even formally announced, or we knew anything about the game. And you count that as confirmation that the game would've been set in those nations?
Plus, I don't recall what they actually stated. I remember that there were speculations about it, but I don't remember that they stated that all those were DA3 locations.

Sorry, I didn't mean that it was bigger than both. I mean individually (though I don't recall of they stated DAO).
No worries. Just felt I should point that out. And they never said DAO. Their exact words were along the lines of "This area of Crestwood is larger than all of DA2 put together." or something.

Because I commented about the case they said we'll visit those locations. I didn't say that I don't want know what they said but the they didn't confirm it: I addressed the possibility that they stated that we'll visit Nevarra and the FM, and the said that I don't remember if he said it.I count it as information released about the upcoming game, the first info released to the public about it, in fact. If you don't even remember what was stated and what wasn't, why do you waste both yours and my time arguing whether it could be taken as confirmation of things to come or not?

Thanks for starting this thread Jeff. I knew I had read awhile back that we were not going back to Kirkwall. A shame about Nevarra, but I would be a happy camper if I never had to go back to Kirkwall ever again.

Although to be honest, when they say stuff like "In the next installment, the player will be visiting Tevinter" I just take it as "one or two levels in a quest will be in Tevinter" I don't actually believe that we'll be exploring a lot of areas in Tevinter like a "real" open world thing, maybe a one or two cities.

I know it's important not to take these articles at face value, that details might be wrong, outdated, or misinterpreted.
But man, these screwups are especially egregious.

Thaaaanks Jeff.
I'm mostly disappointed about not being able to go back and see what happened to Kirkwall. But like someone said up above, it does leave more spaces open for future games. We all loved DA:O and that only covered Fereldan, which is no where near the size of Orlais.
Chins up, everyone! There's always DA4/5/6/7/8...

I think it's a good thing. If we go to lots of places, then we have less time to give those places depth.

I'd rather go to Nevarra than Orlais. Especially since we have a Pentaghast in our party. That's like having Alistair but not going to Ferelden.

Too bad. I really liked the idea of going to Nevarra. I really wanted to visit Cumberland.

Well, I'd have preferred to go to Nevarra too, but Cassandra is not very related to Nevarra. She's not the heir of the throne (she could've very well being very low in the succession line), and she lived in Orlais for decades. I'd say she's more similar to Leliana than Alistair.

Oh, but you can. The county (okay, now it is part of the region called Cumbria) or one of the several cities or rivers of that name?
Cumberland Falls in southeastern Australia (Victoria) also seems nice
.
I'm not disappointed. I never liked the idea of short, superficial visits to multiple countries, but a lot of fans seem to have thought that the maps used in the presentations (as loading screen or not) indicated we were going to visit at least half of Thedas. Of course, until now there wasn't really any concrete information to say otherwise, so that illusion sort of hung on...but, well...Maybe the plans got pared down, who knows?
As a matter of fact, I am wondering how much of Orlais proper (outside the Dales, a stretch of desert / savannah and possibly a Dwarven outpost?) we are going to see. So far, it seems there's going to be at least one fortress / palace (with ballroom?) in it, but how much more?

I'm glad at the news to be honest.
I always thought covering 4 countries in one game was a bit odd if true. And when I saw people expecting (really expecting!, not just speculating) to visit Val Royeaux, Kirkwall, Starkhaven, Cumberland, Denerim and Tevinter I just shook my head.
I'd rather visit one country in a game and become really invested in it, than jump all over the place for a quick visit.

Bummer, This probably means little to no Sebastian, which makes me sad because I liked him.
Nevara seems like a country whose problems will be solved in an Awakening sized expansion, not a full game.
Also, anywhere is better than Orlais, pompous gits the lot of them.

I'm actually pretty enraged by all the mistakes the article's been making.
Morrigan's returning as a party member - NOPE.
Well be visiting Nevarra and the Free Marches - NOPE
We''ll be visiting each region's capital - I'm not going to believe that either now.
What's next? A dev telling us the Emerald Graves don't even exist and OXM making that up?
I mean.... have these journalists been sleeping during their preview session?
That should be the plot to a twilight zone episode
