Hallo everyone,

I've stumbled upon the following mod for DA:O some time ago:

Male Romancible Alistair - dialogue and VO

which edited remarks by 'stair to the Warden as being female, and keeps the original romance intact.

Seeing how I've been running DA:O with Equal Love and had my Warden missies hook up with Morrigan for quite a while now, I was wondering just how I would go about extracting VO of dialogues where Wardens are referred to as males, to change those in like-wise manner the other way around. Myself, I would be content to simply do a sound-replacement of the VO rather than get into scripting the way the above-linked mod did, as I do not play male Wardens anyway.

Looking around, I already found this thread on the old boards, which covers .fsb format-files such as the one that contains in- and out-of-combat lines of party-members upon selection, generic taunts etc. Looking through toolset, I haven't seen any function as simple as extracting dialogue VO in .fsb format.

I also stumbled upon this thread, which outlined editing dialogue's text and was easy enough to follow, yet did not cover how to directly extract the original campaign's VO. The most obvious method n00b me found in toolset, having the VO extracted with auto-generated bot-voices obviously won't quite do.

Anyone have any pointers on this? Or has anyone already set out to do just this, edit Morrigan's dialogue and banter to change references to the Warden being male accordingly, and I just haven't found that?

As I am away from toolset and PC I'll try to give a quick response from the top of my head.

Download the DA Companion WAV via http://social.biowar...t/2449/#details
The resources seem to be still available on mediafire. The project resources include the extracted wav files for the companion.
This is the easiest approach.

In case the links are broken or the resources would not be any longer available you would have to follow these steps:

- Get Aezay's fsbExtractor which is linked in the first thread you have mentioned
- Look for Morrigan_main.fsb and party_ran_banter.fsb which contain the majority of Morrigan's vo lines. To be found in a subfolder of your installation path (modules - single player - audio - vo - en-us . (The sound sets are located in a different folder under packages)
- Open the fsb files with the fsbExtractor and extract the wav files which you want to alter. If you double click a single a wav file it will be extracted and played. (Side note: Media player usually can play fsb files)
Btw - Extracted wav files will not be 16-bit, which is required to be readable by the toolset. Audacity supports batch conversion.

Optionally FYI 2 further links:

Good evenin',

Just what I was looking for, much appreciated! Mediafire-links of the one project-page still appear to be up, too. I should have had the bright idea of checking the main-game folder some more for loose VO-files, thanks for pointing me that way.

At any rate, guess I got everything I need to give this a shot, thanks again for the help.

Edit: Minor note for whom it may be of interest: the linked archive's VO-files' extension needs to be changed from .wav to .mp3 in order to import them into Audacity, I found.
