Are you having more luck with the new manifest, more bad luck or is it the same?

It seems that in my case everything is just like before. Maxed my old manifest in just little over 700 hours, and I'm currently at 640 hours with 8 more to go. That sounds approximately equal.

How about the rest of you?

I've only been playing on my second account for about 250 hours and I have more ultra rares than I had on my first account at 250 hours. In fact, I don't think I even had my uncommons maxed at 250 hours on my previous account. And there were less things in the game then.

Playing with a new account is entirely different with some experience behind you. I played bronze / silver for a very long time, and after I was just comfortable with gold, my husband bought the game. So I played a lot of silver with him before he was comfortable with gold lol. This time, (he bought a new copy with me at Christmas when it was on sale dirt cheap) we jumped into gold as soon as we had a few good weapons and mods. So it seems to be going way faster We could probably get there faster, but neither of us enjoys Plat much (too much of a grind).

Those fancy URs sure help, but a little experience can get you a long way, too. It's challenging to pick up those old, previously unused weapons (and characters) and give them another go. And since we both got our alt accounts at the same time, the competition is fun Also, we've decided to not promote the new accounts; we're going to leave our N7s at 120. Just to mess with the pugs :whistle: After all, one BotB banner you never wear is more than enough....

I tried really hard to keep my N7 at 69. It was soooooooo dumb but it made me laugh!

I managed it for about a week before I unlocked a character card on a deployed class, and have been at 120 ever since. I will never promote again! :rolleyes:

Ok, this might be a really naive question, but how do you start a second account when you're saddled with Origin? Doesn't it tie the authentication/authorization to your account?

You simply make a new origin account. You will need a new email address, but taking 5 minutes to open a new yahoo / hotmail account is far from demanding.

However (and here's where it gets weird) if you have single player DLC installed in your DLC folder, you will be spammed with messages when you log into the alt account demanding that you pay for the DLC you stole from EA. Or something like that anyway.

The DLC installed message is easily bypassed; just click OK and it will let you in the game. However, I've noticed a minor "glitch". When you log back into your original account and go back to a single player game in progress, any DLC weapons you may have had equipped will be removed from your loadout, and you'll have to re-equip them (went into a few missions with just a Predator because of this bug). Otherwise, I've had no problems.

Hmm, well I've been maxxed since last year, and don't miss unlocking things one bit. I love being able to jump into a match without caring about weapons or consumables, and always making a profit in consumables through packs.

Had the most fun now when I can enjoy the combat and not care about inventory management.

Funny that about the eagle - at one time that could have been considered a blessing!

Edit: Ah yeah, that makes sense Jeremiah - I can understand for the purpose of playing with people on different platforms.

But I like inventory management

I was annoyed by my lack of an eagle even when it was considered a blessing :unsure:

Overall the second time around, you need less luck with the store in my opinion.

You know what is exactly out there, and you know how to use it. With my second account, I knew what I was going for (generally speaking) so my account is a lot more calculated in terms of what I am going for.

Path was:
A few recruit packs to get some mods and upgrade mantis

A few reserves packs to get a character I play good with (along with getting challenges)/at least 1 useful gold gear

Recruit packs until I was done upgrading common weapons (plus more weapon mods)

Veteran packs to get the rest of common mods.

I have said before when starting out: (For ease of acquisition/level of power it gives)

Level > Common/Uncommon Weapon > Mod > Gear > Consumable limits > Gold/UR Weapon

The mod types that I found made the biggest difference on both of my PS3 manifests were the Ammo Piercing mods for the weapons. I found that unlocking those had a bigger impact than unlocking any individual weapon or Gear (well... maybe unlocking the Acolyte is comparable. :lol: ) I had forgotten about the consumable limits, though. It's so easy to forget how important they are, until you suddenly don't have them anymore.
