(For those playing at home, I'm going into the game blind never having played a Geneforge game and I'm playing on Normal, so don't mind me if I suck) 
 
The Backstory:

The BioMods have the ability to create posts in any form they choose. They can make living Drones that obey their commands, plants that can flourish in the harshest forum, and powerful monsters that can crush all who oppose them. The BioMods ruled the known lands, and any who tried to rebel or learn their magical secrets were destroyed.
 

 
But then their creations rebelled. Working with Haters jealous of their Masters, they stole the secrets of the Mods and created their own armies. They created and unleashed new, even more powerful creations and matched the BioMods in savagery. And now, years into the rebellion, the war has settled into a gruesome stalemate. The lands are scorched, first the Blogs, then the Polls. Subforum after subforum is burns to the ground, until even the Feed itself falls to the warring factions.
 


The two sides are so delicately balanced that one brave warrior can turn the tide. Will you help the Haters overthrow the BioMods? Will you help the BioMods regain their power, tempted by the incredible rewards they offer? You might be able to end this war. Which side will you choose?

Meet our protagonist, Renegade:

Renegade is a Lifecrafter, through his posts and his ideas, he creates LIFE! He is a true thinker, not requiring the blessing of a phony god, but driving himself to absolute euphoria when he beats down his opposition through reasoned facts and intelligent debate. He often celebrates his victories with a glass of wine, and tips his fedora in honor of his vanquished foes.
 

 

Because he fights so valiantly in the realm of the online, his physical prowess is not very developed. This doesn't bother him, because he knows that all the stupid dudebros and bonehead alphas with their shallow bitches will never wield the kind of power he wields. Renegade's power resides in his words and his intellect. He is ruthless, smart and he knows it.
 
While he is not a Wizard per se (Renegade is only 27), he is well on his way to reaching Wizard-status and has sufficiently developed Magical Abilities.

 
Renegade hates BioWare and all it stands for. He hates how BioWare have moved away from good games and are making dumbed down pieces of crap for the insolent masses and other degenerates. Being a hardcore gamer, he laments how BioWare games no longer have the grand complexity of games like Mass Effect 2, and Dragon Age: Origins.
 
But most of all, Renegade is a man of action. He prides himself on doing what needs to be done. Regardless of what the Paragons and White Knights may think of him. So he slams the "stupid plots", "unrealistic romances", "social justice agenda" and "dumb gameplay" of BioWare's latter games, Mass Effect 3, and Dragon Age 2, and spends his time educating the people on BWF on why their gaming tastes are wrong. All the while hoping that he could just burn the forums down to the ground. 
 

 
Let's begin.
 
CHAPTER 1:

"Mom!" 
 
Renegade waits for a moment, and tries again.
 
"MOM! WHERE ARE YOU?! GET OFF THE COMPUTER! I DON'T WANT YOU TO EMBARRASS ME IN FRONT OF THE BSN!"
 

 
Answers the question as best she can.
 

"I don't wanna go. I'm staying here."
 

 
Open threads. Renegade doesn't know if he can handle interacting with so many posters at once, let alone having to pacify them. He moves to ask if he can stop for lunch first.
 

 

 

"Who is Thrasher?"
 

 

"An Alpha Male? On my Forums?!"
 
Renegade ruthlessly flames the alpha male while his mother "distracts" him using a selfie avatar.
 

 

"I bet you liked Mass Effect 3! But that game was filled with more crap than a used colostomy bag! You probably like it because it's a shallow Gears of War clone. Protip you casual: GO BACK TO CALL OF DUTY IF YOU LIKE MINDLESS SHOOTING! ARE YOU PROUD BIOWARE? IS THIS WHAT YOU HAVE COME TO? PANDERING TO THE UNWASHED MASSES AND SOCIAL JUSTICE DEGENERATES?"
 

 
The battle is won, with the Alpha Male fleeing, and the other posters nowhere to be found, Renegade takes a moment to catch his breath and pops open a can of Pringles.
 

"Fantastic work. Now head to the Help section. That is where you need to be."
 

"Mom! Lemme finish this packet of Pringles first. And where's lunch btw?"
 

 
Renegade grumpily makes his way to the Help Forums. But before he reaches it, he is confronted. 
 

 

"Now then. Let's see what you've done. Do you know who I am?"
 

"Do you know who I am?"
 

"I do. I am a full member of the BioMod High Council. You are not. I command your help. I need more quality agents in my employ. First, I need to explore your abilities, and I have a very good idea on how to do this. We should return to my profile page. It is warmer there and more conductive to robotic thought."
 

"I will not serve you. I have my own plans."
 

"You will obey. I am the Master of the Moderation Panel. If you do not believe me, I suggest you try resisting me. A brief demonstration will prevent a lot of tedious questions and arguments."
 

"... Ugh. I'll do what you say. For now."
 

"Good. Though we may have to fix your attitude in the future. For the meantime, head to the Help Forum. I have notified others of your impending arrival. They will show you what to do once you get there."
 
I guess Renegade has more bark than bite.
 
Renegade holds his tongue and his contempt for the enemy, clearing his thoughts and focusing on the slight bemusement in the situation, as he was already heading in that direction. His mother had fled the scene, not wishing to get banned. But Renegade didn't mind, as she was probably preparing lunch for him right now. A good womyn was Mehken, always in the kitchen cooking something or other. 
 

"Where she belongs, doing what women do best. If only I could find a girl my age who could do that for me. But I'm always being put in the Friendzone. Plus I have standards, I'm not going to date one of the deluded fangirls on BSN. They make my skin crawl. Oh well, to the Help Forum I go."

"Well, I guess this is the right forum for it. And BotMod #1 has his eyes on me. Perhaps I can help."
 

 
Renegade examines the poster causing issues. He wasn't a real intellectual, therefore could be persuaded to calm down quite easily. Just a roamer, moving from subforum to subforum, probably upset that one of his posts was deleted. This was child's play to handle.
 

"Is this what the BotMod wanted me to settle? It's beneath me. And I would rather channel his anger and bash the Mods, but... I don't want to get banned."
 

 

"My job is finished. Good sir, I bid you a lovely day. And to you, m'lady... what is your opinion on BioWare's games?"
 

 
Such is the life of the intellectual. No one wishes to engage with the truly brilliant minds. That slutty wench doesn't know what she's missing out on. Hell, she's probably a guy just pretending to be a woman.
 
Renegade browses the Help Forum for other topics in which he could render aid, but before he finds one that is appropriate, he is approached.
 

 

"Hmph. Servile. Is that the official word for Drones nowadays? Is ******** still a banned term? I guess they have to get around the filter somehow..."
 
Renegade follows Gevik's lead, and is promptly led to BioMod #1's profile page.
 

"I could've done that myself..."
 
Renegade is immediately met by the enigmatic ModBot #1.
 

 

"Do I call you ModBot, or...?"
 

"Rawal. You will call me Shaper Rawal, for I shape the destinies of many who frequent this forum."
 

"Rawal..."
 

"It's my name. Are you trying to marginalize me on the basis of my name? I won't have that. This is my profile page and I won't tolerate such dissident behaviour from my servant. You racist misogynist."
 

"You have mistaken one thing. I am not in your service unless I choose to be."
 

 

"What?"
 



"What have you done to me?!"
 

"It is called a control tool. A tool of my own invention, instead of being wasted on our creations or rogue spambots, it goes directly into your profile page. With a command, I can have it tear your account right open." 


 
"It is there, it is a fact, and it cannot be removed. You will earn great rewards for your service to me, but there is no escape. Now, let us address the next piece of business..."

"So many questions. I thought you were a hardcore gamer. Would you like a "skip combat" button? Is it too hard for you to understand? Figure it out on your own, or spend your time on the Infinity Ward forums."
 

"Ugh... well can you at least enlighten me, do all you BioMods call yourself Shapers or is it just you?"
 

 

"Why would you call them useless? I mean, besides the fact that they are incompetent scum who couldn't design or write their way out of a paper bag."
 

 

"They lash out in their own useless way? What do you mean by that?"
 

"Isn't it obvious?"
 

 

"Does Gaider know you feel that way? What do the others think of you?"

CHAPTER 4:

Renegade and Mehken take their leave of Shaper Rawal and look for Shaper Bruel. Renegade has been given permission to do the work of Shapers - to create or take living posters and bend them to their will. The idea filled with Renegade with a mixture of apprehension and glee. 
 
He worried briefly about moral implications of having his very own Biodrones, but he was being forced into servitude by Rawal, the control tool in his chest a constant reminder that he would be the BotMod's b*tch until he could turn the tables. And having his own minions might help swing things in his direction.
 

 

"I would like to be trained in the arts of Shaping. Allow me to create or alter life as I see fit!"
 

 
Bruel instructs Renegade on the art of Shaping, talking him through various techniques that the BioMods use to Shape their biodrones.
 
By the end of Bruel's extensive lesson, Renegade is more than ready to "recruit" a minion to the cause. He picks out his unsuspecting victim, and begins his nefarious work.
 
As he does the dirty deed, Renegade starts to understand why the BioMods were obsessed with their power. That they didn't just Control the poster, nor did they Destroy them. But instead, they created a new form of poster, they were able to form a Synthesis between their fans and soulless husks, knowing that the new creation would be completely and utterly devoted to them. It was a work of genius, and the feeling it gave... it was like tasting the sweetest ambrosia. It was, simply put, Euphoric.  
 
Renegade didn't even bother to hide what he was doing, and stunned bystanders like J. Reezy could only look on in sheer terror at what they were witnessing.
 

 
A large crackling sound was heard. The Shaping was complete. 
 
Renegade, Mehken and Bruel move closer to our protagonist's new creation. While Bruel shook his head, Renegade was certainly proud of his handiwork. 
 

 
A small and fierce lizard creature, Whitefang has an excellent mix of melee and missile ability.
 

"I can't believe you dragged me into this. Fuuuuuuuuuu..."
 

"Hush. You belong to me now, and as my servant, I'll have you do most of the heavy lifting."
 

"Really? Really...? Goddammit. Well answer me this, neckbeard. Do you even lift brah?"

CHAPTER 5:

​Renegade, Mehken and Whitefang step into the Promenade. They had no idea where on the Forums they actually were, all they knew was that the Promenade would lead to the Foundry. And the Foundry was there they needed to be.
 

 

"We're probably on the French forums or some bullshit."
 
Before the group travels deep into the Promenade, a soldier spots and greets them.
 

 

"So what exactly is going on here?"
 

"Rogues. There are pockets of Rogue creations all over the place. Even worse, the pacification pylons aren't working for some reason. They broke down and we have no idea how to fix them. Hey... speaking of which..."
 

"What do you expect me to do?"
 

 

"Why don't you do it?"
 

"Because Shaper Rawal told us you'd do it. Don't want to do it? Fine, go forth and multiply."
 

"..What?"
 

"You heard me. Walk away. The exercise will do you good."
 
Whitefang guffaws at that last jib, and Mehken is forced to hold an enraged Renegade back. Our protagonist storms off in a hurry, stamping his feet and cursing under his breath. Private Savage truly lived up to his name. What a crass barbarian of lower intellect.
 

 
Clearly, Mehken was not pleased about returning to the Promenade.
 
Whitefang and Mehken lead Renegade around the place, hoping that the walk would indeed be good for him. Renegade has a fierce temper, and being the Alpha Male that he is (though not the douchey kind of Alpha Male that stands in front of the mirror lifting all day and showing his pecs off to shallow women who deserve better), he is definitely a confrontational type.
 
They eventually find a supposedly abandoned thread to hang out in. Take a few minutes to browse, read and calm the mood down. It works at first, until they explore the thread deeper and realise they are not alone...
 

 

 

"This isn't your thread. Boobs or GTFO!"
 

"Krog no want fight. Krog want hide. Hide from Shapers. Hide from death."
 

"Why would you need to hide?"
 

"Krog have Theory about Mass Effect 3. Krog think Shapers Indoctrinate fans. Krog think Mac Walters is genius."
 

"I dunno if Walters is a genius, but you lot certainly aren't. You'd be lucky to have two brain cells to rub together. Collectively."
 

"Krog say you no appreciate storytelling mastery of Mass Effect 3. Krog not alone. All people here follow Krog. All loyal to Krog."
 

"Hah! I'm with the baby raptor, you are all crazy. BioWare couldn't write their way out of a wet paper bag submerged underwater in the middle of a flash flood. They are overhyped, overrated and overly admired by casuals and fools who are too dumb to understand that the Mass Effect games are shallow Gears of War clones that are more restrictive than a strait jacket and have the narrative depth of mud puddles. Though I do admire the way you are annoying the BioWare hierarchy with your opinions in the face of overwhelming evidence, logical thinking and common sense."
 

 

"You know what? I'll let you go. I won't flame you. We'll be better for the experience and I see no reason to get rid of people who are a thorn in BioWare's side. BotMod#1 won't know what happened here if you guys are quiet and don't cause a ruckus. If you run away, and start your own forums, you can be free to type up whatever conspiracy Indoctrination nonsense you can think of. Go."

 

 

"Good. They're gone. Now we have a free moment before we go back out and fix the pylons. Who wants to play Dota?"
