How about it guys? Are you willing to acknowledge this was a communications MFU of monumental proportions and refund our money (or at least give us some throwaway content to spend it on and cut our losses)? Or will you continue to circle the wagons, flip your customers the bird and maintain the wall of silence?

How is it Bioware's fault that you bought points for something that didn't exist?
Why would you even do that in the first place? There is no 'pre-order' bonus for add-ons.

This kind of condescending comment is getting rather stale. When a representative of a company tells you a product is going to be released "later today". It's pretty much safe to assume that the products exists, and it's actually ready to be shipped. Ergo, the ones that were misled into buying the points are entirely justified.

Believe me, I'll -never- make that mistake again, and I'm glad I'm only out the cost of 400 points. Bioware however, is losing my financial support for DA:O and the initial release of ME2. Depending on how that release goes, I'll consider paying for the ME2 expansions.

I am unsure what ME2 has to do with DAO DLC, what with them being different parts of the company and all
When Dev teams start putting their names on the side of the box I'll start caring about which team developed what game. So long as Bioware is developing both games (and putting its reputation on the line with both teams) I'll continue to treat it as one company. While the distinction may be lost on some, I assure you it is not with the Bioware PR guys. They understand that a communications debaucle for one game reflects poorly on the whole company. They know the average consumer doesn't distinguish between dev teams. They read "Bioware" and think "Bioware."
I didn't take the near unprecedented step of preordering two titles because EA is distributing it. I preordered (and purchased every DLC for DA:O released to date) because Bioware had a rock solid reputation in my experience, built on amazing games like KotOR and Mass Effect. I buy less than five titles new per year, and three weeks ago, a Bioware pedigree was enough to move a game to the top of my "must buy" list.
The way they've handled communications for Ostagar has burned through nearly all of that good will. My sincere hope is that if ME2 sells under expectations, the Bioware higher ups consider why and make the decision to get their house in order.

Bioware in itself hasn't been exactly "rock solid" with DLC's in the past.

Safe to assume? Really? Ever hear of Mysteries of Westgate? Vandal Hearts 3 perhaps?
It is never safe to assume that a given ETA is 100% accurate. You should never, ever pay for something that is not yet available (unless you get a bonus for doing so).
Anyone who buys something that's effectively vaporware at the time of purchase deserves precisely what they get. They (pointlessly) gambled on an ETA being accurate and lost.

Bla bla bla, condescending bla bla bla.
Actually, I bought Mysteries of westgate at retail much after it's release, and no, i never heard of Vandal Hearts 3. I don't think a customer has the responsibility to be knowledgeable about every single distribution debacle of the latest 10 years.
Sorry, but when a developer gives such a close ETA, the responsibility for anyone putting their hand on their credit card lays on them. It's that simple. There's no excuse for bioware here, and the ones that bought the points are entirely justified. At least that's what simple logic tells.

Ostagar but this type of thread doesn't do anything to speed it up.
Yeah, communications have been messed up. That's life. There are lots
of circumstances that just get out of control. Seems to me Bioware is
trying hard to get them back under control and they've said several
times that because of the mess ups they aren't going to say anything
until they really have something to say. So no communication seems to
mean they don't have anything to say. I'm willing to wait and not worry
about it but take the time to do other things with my life. I just
can't see why this is so important.
Sorry but no. They would have a LOT to say if they'd be willing to. Unless you assume that a developer is completely clueless about the status of their own product, and about their road map and schedule to get it released.
So yeah, if they're silent is because they want to be, not because they have to.
And this is exactly the problem.
Edit: My bad though they DID post some information (buried, for some reason, in the xbox 360 technical support forim):

Play it and enjoy it if you purchased it. As Sidney said, the issue is the title update, and not RtO. It works fine.
But try not to lord it over the other Xbox players and PC/PS3 players. They'll resent you for it
So, if it "works fine" why are we not playing it?

Also, there's a thread about this already. Read it, post in it, stop opening new ones.
By the way, the original and, thus far, still true release date is the end of this month.
