How is it Bioware's fault that you bought points for something that didn't exist?

Why would you even do that in the first place? There is no 'pre-order' bonus for add-ons.

Speaking personally, I bought them the day of the XBOX release after Chris posted it would be available for PC "later today."  As an East Coaster the idea was to buy my points before everyone else got home from work--in order to spread out the load on the servers.  "Later today" doesn't usual mean "vaporware."  Perhaps I should be more cautious in the future.

Seriously? Another thread? Have you nothing better to do with your time than agonize and complain over a false sense of entitlement for a 40 minute DLC that was bugged? Be glad the company DID pull back on the release for all platforms. I've known companies to just release it anyway, and allow you to suffer the effects of the bug while they work on it.

If that's your thing, then fine. Personally, I'm not into S&M.

You've all still bought and own the thing.  Now you just have to wait for "shipping."  Grow some patience!  Even in the information age, it's a virtue.

Anyone who buys something that's effectively vaporware at the time of purchase deserves precisely what they get. They (pointlessly) gambled on an ETA being accurate and lost.

Right, so people deserved it because they trusted an announcement on the front page? Which was confirmed on the forums?

Nobody deserved what happened, it just did. There's no reason to get all dramatic about it and there's certainly no reason to don the fanboy armour and declare war whenever someone complains.

RTO release was messy, customer service didnt show it's finest side and most of us have 400 useless bioware points. Annoying but all in all it costed me 3,50 and a sigh. No housed cought fire and no people died in the Chaos.

Anticipating the release is one thing, but the rediculous drama is another.

You know, when you wait for "shipping" the retailer tells you when the product will be shipped.

I can hear a card castle collapsing...

What false sense of entitlement? Generally when you give someone money for a product you actually get a product! Unless my logic on this whole buying thing is wrong?

I bought my points, and I'm not pissed. Why is everyone pissed? It's not like they cancelled RTO or anything...

Now if they actually DID... Posted Image

I'm caring less and less about this DLC, as Mass Effect 2 is so close. They effectively might as well have cancelled it unless they release it before Tuesday, at least as far as I'm concerned; otherwise I'll be waiting a few weeks to actually play it :\\\\.
Not necessarily pissed (anymore), just dissappointed.

Because when you prompt and encourage (and in this case even mislead) someone to pay for a product beforehand, basic ethics (and basic professionalism) would dictate that you'd give prompt and regular information on it's status and expecially on when the product would be released. Not to mention the fact that it would at the very least warrant a quite extensive apology if the product was delayed, thrice.
Neither of that happened, and the silence is getting ridiculous.

You did get the product you bought.  You have your game points.

There is nothing in any of Terms of Service or User End Agreement statements I can find that says that I've directly bought a DLC when I pay for points.  I've only bought an assurance that I will be able to get DLC when they come out, with said points.

What annoys me the most is that a leaked and fully working version is already out according to several obscure websites while we wait for this enormous bug to be fixed, submitted for release and probably being delayed again.

I just don't get it.

And if I could get a refund, I most certainly would. From what I hear about Ostagar, I am not even sure I am interested in getting it. I will probably end up using my points on it anyways since I doubt I'll be able to get a refund :)

Oh well, can't really sit here and yell too much at Bioware. They do afterall have the ban-buttons at their disposal and I do believe there ARE good guys in Bioware despite this incredibly poorly handeled sudden delay :)

I am not dissapointed or pissed I am just a bit...confused. They went from 'out later today' to 'delayed a bit wait for more news but there do not appear to be any issues' to nothing, nada.

Weird.

seriously... it baffles me how pissed people manage to get over one little DLC...

I admit that I face daily disappointment whenever I log onto dragon age and find the dlc as yet nonexistant... but I don't have to have it "NOW OR NEVER!!!1!". I just open up Red Alert 3 and kill some tanks... pretty fun.

No rebuttle about the actual thread, other than a thin attack with little substance, not unlike my own first post?

It's like that episode of the Simpsons when Homer trades all his real money for Itchy & Scratchy money and then no one in the park takes it :)

The RtO complaint thread was closed. I do not have an XBox. I think BW gave us open license to open as many threads as we want to whine about their total absence of communication skills. The title of this thread is in fact way more intelligent and amusing than anything BW or moderators on this forum have said this year.

I fear people now think that RtO will be amazing, and I'm quite sure that there will be a huge wave of disappointment after it's release. Calm down, 'tis really nothing special.

I guess I do not understand why you would buy Bioware Points if there is not a DLC to buy with them in the first place. You pay and the points appear instantaneously right?

Yeah unless it is the greatest DLC yet written it will probably not live up to the hype.
