No rebuttle about the actual thread, other than a thin attack with little substance, not unlike my own first post?

Mainstream american politics and media has taught you and I well.

aaaand too bad I'm not american, try again sir, more luck next time.

There's no real need for rebuttal, sinceit's already in what you quoted, but i'll elaborate for your benefit.

They misled us to buy points for RtO, by telling us that it would have been released "later today", there's a clear and undeniable cause-effect link between the two facts.
The fact that we still have the points doesn't diminish the problem, the fact that we have been misled, or the fact that they're not giving us any information on when we'll receive our money's worth.
The "but you still have the points" argument is exactly how i defined it, grasping at straws, trying to justify an unacceptable (and pretty disrespectful of the customer base, i'd add) behavioir with a mere and very ineffective sophistry.

I guess I do not understand why you would buy Bioware Points if there is not a DLC to buy with them in the first place. You pay and the points appear instantaneously right?

Well I bought them because I was under the impression I'd be downloading RTO on 5 Jan. Image my surprise when it wasn't there.

I fear people now think that RtO will be amazing, and I'm quite sure that there will be a huge wave of disappointment after it's release. Calm down, 'tis really nothing special.

'tis really nothing special that I paid for, ergo, I'd like to have it, or at least to have some clear information on when I'll get my money's worth.

Yes. After how infamous it's become from this entire comedy of QA / release date / communication errors, RtO could never measure up to any expectations at this point. It could be Return to Nude Dwarf Tossing and not make a blip.

How is it Bioware's fault that you bought points for something that didn't exist?

This kind of condescending comment is getting rather stale. When a representative of a company tells you a product is going to be released "later today". It's pretty much safe to assume that the products exists, and it's actually ready to be shipped. Ergo, the ones that were misled into buying the points are entirely justified.

You strike me as the sort who has problems with letting things go.

It's a DLC.  It's not a full expansion.  It's not $40 spent.  It's not the "be all, end all" of downloadable content.
They expected to release it that day.  They found an unexpected bug that caused what many thought of as a severe problem.  Not wanting to suffer having more complaints about people "paying for broken material" they pulled it and are working on fixing it.

What's not hard to understand about this?  Cut them some slack, already.

I'm sure they'll make a mod for that, probably before RTO gets released Posted Image

Is there any logical reason why we should let Bioware get away with this debacle and with continuated silence? Just curious.

Tell me, how was your relationship with your mother?

Isn't it lovely when someone runs out of arguments...

It IS very nice, actually, thank you. She says hello.

Just a side effect of having us buy Bioware points to be begin with.  It simply doesn't make sense to me...why not just charge me the $5 instead of buying points for $5 and then buying the DLC with the points.  Seems like a useless step to me...and then it makes unfortunate things like this possible.

What debacle?  You've never had to deal with a delay or unexpected problem?  Life is full of them, and they often happen with things far more important than a $5 addon to a video game.

There's never going to be a middle ground that everyone can agree on, in this situation.  Some don't believe that this is anything worthy of getting worked up about.  Some are understandably upset over the way it's being handled, and want the company to know that they are.  The two are mutually exclusive, and I'm backing out of thread.  I should know by now that internet forum arguments are the worst place to undertake a debate.

You did get the product you bought.  You have your game points.

There is nothing in any of Terms of Service or User End Agreement statements I can find that says that I've directly bought a DLC when I pay for points.  I've only bought an assurance that I will be able to get DLC when they come out, with said points.

Esteemed Ladies and Gentlemen, i present you the next attraction! The man grasping at straws

Actually he's totally right, *Treason1 that is, not Abri* the ones who think buying Biowarepoints that are useable to buy ANYTHING they release that costs Biowarepoints equals buying the DLC are grasping for straws...
FFS use Your brain for a second! :alien:

You DID buy Bioware points, NOT the DLC.... That's a simple FACT!
WHY you bought said points has NOTHING to do with said fact!

Like stating I should get a refund for Buying a prebuy busticket useable anytime, because the bus is late! :bandit:
As if? Likely to happen? Anyone think it even is a fair request?
Not likely no...
Same here, it's Biowarepoints not the DLC You bought, sorry but that's a simple fact!
If You traded those POINTS in already THEN You bought the DLC, but otherwise no... :police:

"Making this situation possible" is the whole and exact purpose of Bioware Points. Instead of demanding a refund (which I'd have a legal right to if I was paying for a product directly) I'm forced to sit and wait for something -anything- to spend these stupid points on.

At this point I'm pretty much writing Rt:O off as vaporware, ala Duke Nukem forever. My best hope is that after getting ME2 on the secondhand market, I'll be able to buy some DLC for it down the road.

To that end, here's the Goozex link for ME2.

Remember, letting a company treat you as unimportant only justifies their behavior. The -only- way to make them listen to your grievances is to hurt their bottom line.

I deal with unexpected problems and deadlines every single day of my life for a living actually. Three delays in a row? That's quite a lot more rare.
Three delays in a row, misleading into paying for a product beforehand, a bugged patch, and on top of it (and this is the worst part), absolutely zero informative communication to the customer?
You can pretty much assume that I make sure that that would NEVER happen. At least not with my clients. They dealt with this situation in an abysmal way, and they still didn't make up for it. People are absolutely justified for being rightfully pissed.

Too bad that for everyone of us that bought the collector's edition there's absolutely nothing else that those points can be spent on.
I'm sorry to have to burst a bubble here, but the cause-effect link works in physics and even in courts, i wouldn't know why it shouldn't work here.
There's a clear and undeniable cause-effect link between them telling us that the product was to be released "later today" and us buying the points. Denying that link, is indeed grasping at straws to fanboyishly defend an undefensible and unprofessional behavioir.
