Out of all the squad members you target one that is actually one of the most popular because of maybe one or two threads? obviously some people may dislike Wrex and they should burn for such thoughts but I would say without a doubt Kaiden gets way more hate and is killed off 5 times for every Wrex death so Kaiden deserves this thread because he actually suffers at the hands of Ashley fans because they want to get in her pants. Kaiden: " I died because Shepard wanted to get laid"

I think I've got some band news for you then....

I shouldnt be surprised since Bioware has changed everything else I liked about the first game anyway... :crying:

You mean reinventing the stiff and dull combat and improving the graphics? Me too, I loved the texture popping and now it's gone! :(

You know what he meant ODST....not the things that needed to be improved, but things like more inventory customization, squad armor...what a shame.

But it looks like it'll be better than Mass Effect 1 anyway, can't wait..

Hate Wrex? That's because people are jealous of his badassery.

I liked Wrex, but I killed him. Yet he proved to be a threat to the mission, and a loose cannon. The mission is more important then his personal objectives concerning the Krogan genophage.

Which is why you must convince him otherwise! I bet he can help you some way in ME2...

No, I played through more then once with different characters. My paragon let him live and used him as a squadmate throughout the game.

I love Wrex. Want him in my squad again. And also, i don´t mind the shotgun to the face. he had plenty of reasons for that. Hell i wanted to kill sheppard too for not stepping up on Wrex defence.

2) Well he DOES betray you. If you can't talk him down or kill him he'd put a shotgun round through your face. Some people don't take kindly to that.

Pfft, i respect how strongly Wrex stands behind his beliefs... hes not just a badass krogan, hes an older, wiser badass krogan.  Hes the krogan miyagi, a lizardlike qui-gon jin, a green sean connery (ala highlander, or the rock, or the league of extrodinary gentlemen, or finding forrester).

Im willing to give grunt his chance... because as much as i respect wrex, my shep wouldn't mind being the mentor for a overly enthusiastic youngin'.  His vigor reminds me of my naive youth, me and Wrex will be able to talk about how he reminds us of when we were younger.

Wrex is the best character in this series, my heart hurt(not really but i was still sad) when i found out he isn't a squad member in the second game. Hopefully he will be a squad mate again in the third game.

Have a playthrough with him and garrus together.. you'll have a pretty fun time! expecially in the elevators of the Citadel :D

Wrex is a very deep and complicated character.. his racial "badassness" covers most of his personal feelings which you touch, and get to know, developing that friendship with him..

I've mostly liked all the characters.. besides Ashley and Kaidan.. they always leave me something of a subtle sensation.. expecially Kaidan..

I mean really, I don't understand it. He's a really strong character not too mention a total badass, yet people hate on him and celebrate that they killed him. I wish to understand this view because the concept of hating this character escapes me. <_<

I dont hate him...in fact, I respect the guy and my Paragon Vanguard Shep actually talked him down on Virmire.  My Renegade Soldier Shepard however, looked at the whole ordeal as a betrayal and shot him without hesitation because "The mission comes first..."  This same Shepard also left his LI on Virmire to die because of this same philosophy...The mission comes first at all cost...Regardless the cost.  But again, my paragon shep saved her Image IPB

Of course, from his initial perspective, what Shep basically wants to do is wipe out the cure for the disease that is erradicating his species.  Loyalty to some guy you've known for a few months, or loyalty to your species?

Honestly, although I understand why Bioware setup that exchange the way they did, I probably would have wanted to put a load of shot into Shep, too.  The obvious solution would be to try to save the research THEN nuke the site, or even let Wrex go into the site himself to recover it and hope he makes it to the Normandy in time before the nuke goes off.  Instead, it was an either/or situation that wasn't very satisfying but... yeah, had I been Wrex, I'd have been pissed, too.  And, to his credit, he asked Shep to give him a reason to trust Shep and an opportunity to talk him down.  (Granted, he pulled a shotgun while doing it, but come on... if you had four testicles you'd probably be jumpy, too.)

I dislike Wrex if for no other reason than that krogan are an example of my second most despised sc-fi trope, the "warrior race". That nonsesne makes my eyes twitch, and it has ever since the 'TNG's klingons when I was but a young, very nerdy, child.

Wrex, judged on his own merits, might not be so bad, but almost everything about him is also about the krogan, and that ****'s tedious.

Yeah, on first glance you could take it that way. But if you spent a lot of time engaging Wrex up to that point you would realize that no matter how bad you talked to Wrex he always backed down to Shepard or just shut up if he got too mad. With that in mind, and the scope of his beef with Shepard, I felt like the commander owed it to this badass Krogan to at least make an attempt to talk him down.
Sure, Shepards life was in danger, but thats gonna be a given when you are dealing with a hardass killer thats doing missions with you. Shepard knew that he had all of Wrex's respect and this was his opportunity to give a little of that back. Blowing him away only showed that Shepard is a poor, and selfish leader.
