[Wrex.the.next.spectre]

As far as I could recall, there was an unofficial poll on which characters was the most well liked, and Wrex won it by a landslide. So if people hated Wrex, it would be news to me.



Now Krogan I can understand. Not my favorite species. But Wrex was loved by many.

I loved Wrex. He is da man. Along with Kaidan, he was always in my Infiltrtor's squad.



I actually wish my Shep could have stuck up for Wrex on the make-or-break issue at Virmire. No matter how understanding I tried to make her, I think she still came across as somewhat jerkish. Wrex's consternation at the issue was just so natural. Even though it was necessary to win him over, I just wish it could've been done in a more understanding manner.

Wrex is probably the most popular character in Mass Effect. He's the Proud Warrior Race Guy, man. And for some reason, people really like Proud Warrior Race Guys, paticularly if they're snarky. Having said that, I think the Turians are more interesting then the Krogan and I enjoyed HK from KOTOR and Shale from DA more then I did Wrex. Doesn't change the fact that almost everyone adores him, though.

I never met anyone who doesn't think Wrex is an awesome character. I'm sure they're out there, but not very many of them.

Clearly you don't need another person to post saying how much they like Wrex, because plenty of people have already done that. But I will anyway. Wrex rocks. He's everything that Grunt is not, sadly. I love the krogan, but I think it's a shame that after making a krogan as nuanced as Wrex, BioWare decided to go with the plain, dull thug that Grunt appears to be. Hopefully he'll prove me wrong though, and be as interesting as Garrus and Wrex are in ME1.

Since when did people hate Wrex? Did something happen when I was away? Isn't Wrex commonly considered the fan-favourite character of ME1?

I don't hate Wrex.  I have one good reason I should, though.  He seems to be detached enough to kill whomever for credits.  I find that morally repugnant. 

Otherwise I do like him.  I have never killed him on Vermire and I always get his family armor.

I smashed a plate that my wife got as a gift. I truly seen her angry side that day. If she found out people were bad mouthing Wrex...wowza!

I wouldn't want to be there for that.

I just finished my first play, and while I don't hate wrex, I did blow his face off.



Sorry, but he drew / pointed his gun at me and threatened me.

He also disobeyed me and killed that mobster guy. I let that incident slide, but drawing down in me was a death sentence, and his second act of disobedience/insubordination.



Sucks to be the krogan, but I've got a universe to save.

I always thought Wrex was quite popular? Like him anyway, even if a few of his lines (eg. This story's just beginning) are a bit cheesy. He has a lot of depth and character.
People who don't like Wrex just wish they were as badass as him.

hmm.... aside from Maviarab I've never seen anyone say that they hate Wrex and I've also seen no reason to hate he is a well developed character and you gain real insight to his personality when you talk to him and being one of the few here who actually think the genophage was wrong I all for wrex trying to unite the krogan could you please show me any of these anti-wrex threads you've seen because so far all I've seen are positive views of wrex

Wrex was the best squad-member in Mass Effect 1. His skillset is pretty good (always took him along with Kaidan as my main infiltrator Shep). Biotics + shotgun = win.



So why do people relish killing him off on Virmire? He got angry when you said that you would destroy the genophage, but it is a natural response from him, since he cared about finding a solution to help his people from their primitive ways.



Not to mention that he has more personality than Garrus and Tali put together. (Just to clarify, I do like Garrus and Tali, but they were stale in ME1 in comparison to ME2)
