Ok as far as I know the canon race for DAO was the dalish elf, and in DA2 Hawk was supposed to be a blood mage or just mage idk.

 

I think the canon race for DAI should be a dwarf or at the very least a qunari mage (not because they are the newly added race)!

 

I think that the qunari would make the most sense though, despite my favoritism towards the dwarves. I mean the plot of the game is "saving the world from itself" and bringing "order" to all the chaos and who knows more about order than a qunari or ex- qunari!

 

Who do you think should be the canon race? Why?

What do you mean canon though, like just in terms of cover art? I actually didn't realize the canon race for DAO was elves. Hmm.

Bioware canon is what I believe they are referring to.

Bioware doesn't have a canon. They have a default that they use for other media and that the game is based on if you don't import anything yourself.

what I meant was the race/origin that would have the most influence and the topic of there origin that would come up the most! Like how the dalish warden origin affected DA2 the most!

I think the Human Mage Warden was mentioned as much in dialogue. If not more.

I'm pretty sure they will use a human for CG trailers and for the default inquitor.

If Bioware has to pick a default race for the trailers and marketing I hope they'll pick the Qunari. It would be unique at least.

I think what the OP is asking what race will the default Inquisitor be for outside media or for those who don't import any world state in for future games.

In which case, we have a female Dalish elf in DA:O who completed the US and a male human Mage who sided against Meredith and the Templars.

Really?? hmm I didn't know that!  I know of only one 2 conversations( well one is banter with tallis and the other is a mention from hawks mom) that involve the human mage warden being mention, if there is more please share

The race shown in the trailers and posters and promos will likely be human as always and probably 95% of that will be male human with dark hair and stubble.

If they do what they did with male hawke where most of the trailers where of him in mage or warrior champion sets it will proberly be this guy
