Only asking for the puzzles involving colours, if any, to be modified tonnot involve colours. I enjoy puzzle in rpgs and other games, as much as the next man. I wouldn`t want them removed or anything like that. Just to be clear ![]()
A small request about puzzles.

The distinctive shapes and different color combinations are not mutually exclusive. One could have an item with a distinctive shape and a distinctive color.

The puzzle in Awakening was like that. They had shapes and colours in the Kal-Hirol.

Yes. Great idea. Just use White, Black, Red and Blue maybe.
DDO (Dungeons and Dragons Online) had this problem and they fixed it by including cues OTHER than color in their puzzles, so, for instance, if a puzzle is "set 4 colored wheels to different symbols" (common), the blue wheel has five dots on it that correspond to five dots on the plate that tells you the proper symbol.
Simply adding ONE extra cue other than "it's blue" totally fixes this problem and it really, really isn't difficult to do.

I am not sure if DA:I will have puzzles in it, or not. But lets say it does have some. Could I request that puzzles involving colours is avoided at all costs? They arn`t alot of fun for those of us who are colour-blind :\
Anything else is fine.
You forgot something my friend: levers.
I don't want to figure out correct combinations ever again. Most of the time int ends two ways for me:
1: push und pull over and over and over and over again until i get it right by accident.
2: Go read solution in some walkthrough.
Lever-puzzles not fun.

You haven't tried actually solving the puzzles?

You haven't tried actually solving the puzzles?
Tried? Of course i tried, but as i said, the solution to those kind of puzzles came always unexpected and without any intent.
Like: "wait, what? What did i do? How did i solve that? Well... nevermind."
And wheneiver i see about 6 or 8 levers, butons or anything else, that has to be used in the right order, i get f****** annoyed. I mean, we're in the year of 2014, do we still have to use the same kind of riddles that were in Games like IWD2, Kotor, and other much older games?

Not sure if it applies, but bordetlands 2 released a patch for colour blind people that not only shifted the various item colours(in the title for determining rarity) but also labelled them as well.
A good way to preclude the need for a colorblind mode is to make sure your game is colourblind-safe from the get-go. As in, can be played comfortably in black and white.

Adding in my support for this and the idea of an official replace-spiders-with-mabari patch for the arachnophobic. These are such small things to do--esp the shape differentiation instead of color in puzzles--that it's ridiculous if they aren't already doing it, with the number of people it'll help.
