For the campaign I'm working on, I needed several creatures I couldn't find anywhere (crab, octopus for example). Here's the crab: http://social.biowar...m/project/9096/

I don't remember where I got the model, but thanks to his/her author!

Animating the octopus takes longer than I thought, but I'll get it done some time!  ;)

Cool. Do you perhaps have a larger image? :)

Yes, but I can't attach images here (or more probably I didn't find how to do it. Whatever I tried, I had an error about a wrong extension).

i had that too -- but More Reply Options > click insert Image ( the blue rectangle ) and paste in the URL

[edit] uh, a bit more than that : I brought up the direct image in Photobucket, then right-click Copy Image Location, then paste *that* into the URL ... bother.

Did you mean you can't paste images directly? I just use Photobucket then insert the URL here by selecting the Image icon. The URL has to end with something like .jpg, .png, .gif, &c.

And with scaling, we can make a giant enemy crab!

I needed a crab years ago for Isle of Shrines. I had to make do with scaled stag beetles using crab portraits.

And finally we have a legitimate excuse to include terrible crab-related puns in our modules:

Quest-giver: "I want you to get a case of crabs from the fishmonger, then give them to me."

Adventurer: "I'd rather not, if it's all the same to you."

Awesome. So rare to see someone making new creatures

Why don't crabs like to share their tidal pools?

Because they're shellfish.

Thanks!

Regarding the other creatures I have in progress, for sure I won't be able to finish the octopus for tomorrow, and I'm not even sure I'll be able to start animating the dragon (I've got issues with the skinning... The thigh bone affects the belly, but if I change the weight to make the belly follow the spine, there's a gap between the thigh and the belly when the dragon moves. Maybe I'll restart the skeleton from scratch.) Actually, I remembered I could "Paint Weights" and modify the envelopes (might not make sense for those not used to 3ds max, sorry), so I solved my problem. And right now, idle.gr2 and walk.gr2 are done.

After the crab, time for the great white shark and the octopus (I need them for my module). As I will find a use for the green slaad too, I'll deal with it after (it will take some time, as contrary to the animals, or even the swamp dragon I'm also working on, they will need to wield weapons, so I definitely have to find a matching skeleton - I'm not ready for making all the combat stances for a new skeleton!)

Looking at the teeth, I probably need to redo the UV map, but it's a minor change. For comparison, I put Bruce between RWS's mako and hammer sharks.

I imagine that octopus will be a nightmare to animate. Good luck.

We'll have to call him Rolf. :)

You don't imagine!

In the meantime, the great white shark is available on the new vault and nexus.

Those look excellent!

I think RWS had some underwater content and swimming animations. Hopefully we'll be able to recover those. Now we just need some seaweed grasses, coral reef placeables, and maybe a shimmering seafloor light SEF.

I have all of these on my backup hard drive!

If they're not already uploaded on the new vault, I could take care of it.

The shimmering sea floor effect is also in the RWS underwater pack.  I use it extensively.

Does the new great white shark model use the RWS skeleton and animations? Those were pretty cool. I used the RWS sharks extensively in Isle of Shrines. Plus I've fooled around with using the RWS sharks as mounts:

No, it's got a dedicated skeleton. I tried with RWS mako shark skeleton, but there was always something wrong in the skin/vertex weighting. I've got a tiger shark in progress, let's see if it's easier with this one.

I decided to give it a try anyway: now, the green slaad can wield one handed weapons and shields. I never noticed how large it was: a great sword in its hand looks like a long sword for a human, and the standard club is just a tiny piece of wood:
