Or have you been spoiled by UR's?
I use the Pheaston, Avenger, scimitar, and even the almighty Predator but only on the GI. I use every other common on other kits. They aren't so bad....

A predator is not so bad as an emergency sidearm, especially with a power amplifier. It actually had pretty good dps, just to low ammo.
Mantis is also relatively good for its weight what I read (Not a sniper myself).

So, common weapons are moreless "bad", yes, but not completely useless.

I never touch shuriken or predator - too much clicking...

I'm going be annoying in that you have mixed common and uncommon weapons together. I still enjoy the avenger and mantis as common weapons, but usually on silver or below.

Your "commons" are a mix of commons, uncommons and rare. And yes, I still use the common weapons, mostly Mantis and Predator.

Common weapons? No, not really. Uncommon weapons, sure. I use the Mattock, Tempest and Incisor sometimes.

Headshot? If you can strip shields, you can kill them with a body shot.

I tried to complete all the weapon challenges for all common weapons some time ago. I still haven't used the Shuriken or Predator that much.

 

I really like the Mantis for sniping, but I don't use it that much.

Mantis and Mattock. Use them for goofs mostly.

I'd use the Mantis more if I sniped more often, it's plenty powerful enough. Also, I run the Predator on my DAI sometimes, mostly just b/c I want personally to complete the challenge. Otherwise....no, none of the other commons.
