I really like the avenger even though it blows, so I use it quite a bit

The Mantis is pretty good for a common.

I use everything at some point

Playing every match with the same kit and weapon gets boring really fast

I've occasionally pugged Gold as a HSol/Avenger, TSol with a Phaeston or HInfil with a Mantis.  The latter two are actually not half bad, though the Mantis is a bit gimp at dealing with bosses, and the Phaeston was being run with AP IV and so fairly decent.  HSol Avenger was just awful though...the only time I ever felt I was doing anything near decent damage was when I popped an ammo pack and hit AR immediately after.

 

Oh, and I almost forgot about the Locust.  TSol/Locust is a great combo.

Mantis is actually pretty decent on Infiltrators up to Gold (you can't kill mooks with headshots on Platinum)

Phaeston, Viper, and Mantis still get used regularly.  The sniper rifles more than the Phaeston.

Oh and the Phalanx as a secondary on my Striker/Kroldier build just for getting rid of Guardians

My manifest aint the best so run Avenger X on all my casting kits until i get to the capacity and weight reduction evos. Love that gun on lower difficulty. Nothing flashy but effective.

Raptor, tempest, and mantis are what I use most from the lower tiers. They're still good weapons.

Not a lot but yeah, on some characters I've still got a couple Uncommons equipped as the primary, the Mattock is good enough to be a Rare imo.

 

Out of the Common weapons, the Mantis is the only decent shooter and while I can happily use it on Gold, I'd be lying if I said I use it outside of completing challenges.

I like Mantis SI. I also like how Shuriken shoots (sound and feel), but I don't like how it does almost no damage Still usable on Silver on caster classes, though.

 

There are several good uncommons. Mattock is GREAT. I like Raptor. Locust is usable (but I like Shuriken better). Tempest isn't too bad.

Or have you been spoiled by UR's?
I use the Pheaston, Avenger, scimitar, and even the almighty Predator but only on the GI. I use every other common on other kits. They aren't so bad....

Avenger - HSOL - CS Incendiary ammo build**Favorite**
Pheaston - TSOL, GE
Scimitar - GI, AIU
Predator - GI ONLY
Tempest - GI, GE

Try the same HSOL build, but with disruptor rounds.  It's my personal favorite.

Uncommon weapons, sure.

Besides Mantis, Common weapons can be airlocked.

Not commons, but the Mattock, Eviscerator, Tempest, Locust, yes.

Just the Mattock, really, otherwise I use Rares or URs.

I still use the predator, mantis and pretty much all of the uncommon weapons on a fairly regular basis.

 

I haven't even touched the Katana in a very long time though, so I may have to give that another go soon to see if my opinion of it might've changed.

I still use the Mattock, that's the only one from those two tiers that sees any use.   Although I accidentally equipped the scimitar the other day because I wasn't paying attention... then I wondered the whole match why stuff wasn't dying like I thought it should.
