Speaking of Tali's loyalty mission, I have to say that I love the renegade speech against the admiralty board.

This.

There are many others, and basically all have already been mentioned so I won't rehash them, but if I had to pick one that gets me right in the feels every single time, no matter what, it's heading back to the Normandy, post-party.  The music, that specific line.....man, it's dusty in here.....

That line did absolutely nothing for me. In fact, it had the opposite effect for me.

The best? Lolnope.

The Thane romance. It had its flaws, mainly the LI being a manfrog, but it's by far my favorite romance in the trilogy. Seeing FemShep cry in Citadel broke my heart.

I had a big list, but it was getting out of hand, so I narrowed it down to one.

The suicide mission.  There is nothing more exciting than that, in the entire trilogy, if you ask me.  Compared to that, the endgame events in ME3 seem kinda dull.

ME1:

  • Experiencing the opening Normandy section and the Citadel for the first time was breathtaking, to say the least. Taking in all of this brand new information remains to be the single most memorable moment I've had with the series, hands down.
  • All of the main story missions, with the exception of Feros (just not terribly interesting both gameplay and story wise, imo). More on this in the following points, because I can't do sub-bullet points on this forum.
  • Noveria simply had an astounding atmosphere once you reached the Peak and I genuinely enjoyed learning about the Rachni and course your ~key choices~ involving the fate of the queen. Of course the process of getting off the base and into Peak15 was a ton of fun. Benezia....I did not care about in the least; that was my only qualm.
  • Virmire brought forth the realization that **** was getting real. Being the first time squad members' lives are in your hands, it stands out as a significant moment for Shepard. Finally greeting Saren face-to-face and an explanation of his motives, and the hologram of Sovreign. Also Kirrahe is THE most badass non-squadmate, as far as I'm concerned. The Kaidan and Ashley choice may have been difficult for some, easy for others, or what have you. I didn't particularly care for either character all that much, so I can't say it impacted me emotionally in any way.
  • The sense of urgency that Ilos and the battle of the Citadel brought forth was executed extremely well. Between the meeting with Vigil, the chase to the mass relay, and the vertical walk up the Citadel tower, a lot of memorable events take place during this awesome conclusion. I remember the credits starting to roll and it had me CRAZY HYPED to immediately start playing the second one.

ME2:

  • I have to say that the very first time I played this game, I quickly decided I had loathed it and abandoned it after a the first few hours. I was pretty appalled by the resurrection plot and the fact that nothing even remotely interesting seemed to be going on during the time I played it. But, I eventually resumed the game after several months and the one mission that really had me gripped me onto the game for good was Mordin's recruitment mission on Omega. The mission itself was just okay, nothing too impressive. But it was the introduction of the character that really won me over. Mordin is my absolute favourite character in the series. I felt like the few minutes we got to speak to him during the mission really painted a general picture of just how cool this guy was. In my eyes, Mordin is, without a doubt, the best thing about the game.
  • Honorable mention goes to Tali's loyalty mission. Not much to say. Everything about it was outstanding.
  • Also absolutely adored Jack and Legion among others. Liked how experiencing some loyalty missions really changed my outlook on the character in question (e.g. Miranda), even if there were a lot of daddy issues to sift through.
  • The suicide mission was a blast to play through.............up until you fight the Terminator. That was a bit of a bummer. The rest? Simply awesome

ME3:

  • It's been said a lot already, but for good reason. Priority:Tuchanka. Favourite mission in the entire game. Emotionally gripping doesn't even begin to describe it. The fact that this entire mission tugged at my heartstrings so much only goes to show how great it truly is. The sheer number of variables at play that shape the outcome is huge. I can nitpick at most of the other missions for having small or large things I didn't like, but I can't think of a single thing I disliked here. Not one.
  • I almost lost my marbles when I thought that Grunt perished when I released the Rachni queen. Damn, was I played.
  • The Cerberus Headquarters station was mostly exciting as hell. Like with every Cerberus-related part of the game, there were some qualms to be had (I won't go into those). But one thing that made this mission stick out was just how badass it felt to carve a path through the bastards' headquarters and the last line of defense their troops put up.
  • I actually really enjoyed the Leviathan DLC. Gameplay-wise, it was a C-, but I really enjoy the more atmospheric missions that Mass Effect provides, that are a bit lighter on the action, so I was satisfied.
  • Citadel party. Chill times with all of my favourite (alive) characters together in one place. A sentimental way to close things off.

I have to add the Praetorian encounters. The first on Horizon was kind of brutal because of that awful shockwave thing it does when it raises the kinetic barriers, and those lousy death ray eyes. The best part was being prepared for the second encounter on the Collector ship after I acquired the Cain. It was pretty sweet sending that thing to hell in one shot.

I can't believe that I forgot about that moment at the end of the Citadel DLC. Yes, that scene, like Mordin's, almost made me think of all the dust in my room.

'Farewell and Into the Inevitable'

Just listening to it does it for me for some reason. The music in ME3 is very emotive, probably the best I've heard in a game for that.

Honourable mentions to 'Leaving Earth' and 'The End..'.

I got 9 seconds in before I remembered that I should probably do another round of spring cleaning to get the dust off my desk.

Seriously though, something about that song puts a pit in my stomach and gets me all worked up. It does such a good job of evoking the memory of that scene and making you feel like you're experiencing it for the first time again.

There sure is an awful lot of support for Citadel considering it checks a lot of a boxes that people on this forum seem to 'hate.'

We seem to have simmering hatred for half the squadmates by most posters here. At least. General very strong support for heavily Renegade characters and disdain for Paragon characters. Hatred for anything that can be perceived as a 'power fantasy.'

And yet there's overwhelmingly support for a party where everyone has fun and gets their picture taken.

I only posted that because of the music. I have never romanced Kaidan.  I have had only Liara, Samantha, Steve, Joker, edi, femshep and James in the group photo before. If there was a way to only have three I would've done that.

Here's what the group photo would look like with only 6 + Shepard

That opening in Mass Effect 1, just amazing, brings back so many memories. Never enjoyed a game as much as ME1 when i first played it. Pretty much all of my favorite parts are the ones that have some of the best music. A couple of which are:

ME1
- Drive through Ilos and talking to Vigil
- When the Alliance Fleet shows up
- When Shep comes out of the rubble, thought Shep was dead the first time through

ME2
- Seeing the new Normandy
- The whole suicide mission, the music built up as it went and made it feel amazing
- Shep looking up at the end and then seeing that reaper fleet show up, wow.
- All of LOTSB

ME3
- Curing the genophage
- Thinking Grunt was going to die, and then when i saw him come out alive
- Talking to Garrus and Liara in London
- Andersons final moments
- When i first heard Liara play Vigil in Citadel
- The end scene of Citadel, The Best.

There are so many

ME1

- Build up to it and when the title 'Mass Effect' appears on screen in ME1 with that awesome awesome BG score. Seriously it gives me chills everytime without fail.

- The entire unknown vast galaxy vibes throughout ME1, which was exhilarating and at times creepy too

- Virmire, IIlos, Noveria. I absolutely love em

- First convo with council and exploring citadel. I so missed the ME1 citadel, always thinking that I had it all covered and yet finding new things in subsequent playthroughs.

- Convo with Sovereign. It was a brilliant piece of writing imo.

ME2

- Again the opening sequence upto Shepard drifting away from the Normandy wreck.

- LM's of Mordin, Tali, Grunt

- Garrus, bromance ftw  :D  Characterization of almost every squadmate was brilliant. And of course Aria T'Loak  :o

- Garrus and Tali's exchange on the stairs

- Bringing Legion to Tali's LM.

- The suicide mission, such an awesome experience. Passing through the O4 relay and then wandering through that creepy base..ooh

- LOTSB, the car chase, the broker's ship, the encounter with Yahg, the kiss with Liara  (romancing her increased the charm of that dlc tenfold), Inviting her to Normandy.

- Seeing Reaper fleet arriving on the cusp of the milky way. Change in BG score gave me chills.

ME3

- Having Wrex back on Normandy. Infact the entire genophage arc.

- Mordin's final moments. I'll admit, it made me very very emotional. "Had to be, someone else might have gotten it wrong"  :crying:

- The reaper battles on Tuchanka & Rannoch. Also some of the dialogues during those battles. "There's a reaper in my way Wrex"  :D

- Citadel DLC   I don't have enough words to describe it.

- Javik. The mission to extract him on Eden Prime, the flashbacks, his interactions with Shepard and the squadmates.

- Liara romance arc, time capsule and in Citadel DLC.

- Talking with Anderson just before the starbrat appearing to ruin the moment. Final talk with some of the squadmates on earth. Saying goodbye to Liara when Normandy comes to pick her and Garrus  :crying:  :crying:

- An end once and for all. even though the endings were...erm underwhelming, that soundtrack is just outstanding.

Usual crap.

So in a thread whose purpose is to try and be positive this is your contribution? Thanks for that.

I also like the crashed spaceship in leviathan. I remember finding the logs of the crew for the first time, that was good.
Similar to the logs on Jacob's loyalty mission, one of them was especially creepy.
