Oooh and I forgot Leviathan completely. Like the way it took the form of the characters that you encountered during the course of the arc.

So in a thread whose purpose is to try and be positive this is your contribution? Thanks for that.

I also like the crashed spaceship in leviathan. I remember finding the logs of the crew for the first time, that was good.
Similar to the logs on Jacob's loyalty mission, one of them was especially creepy.

Leviathan in general has this very lovecraftian atmoshphere to it. Just makes me love it all the more.

The ascension (lift) part at the end of ME3 is awesome. I get goosebumps thinking about it. Love the contrast between the infernal (blood, disorientation, red light) bottom part and the heavenly (blue light, soothing music, the presence of a god-like entity) top part.

Being lazy I'll agree with the arriving at the citadel for the first time in ME1. Nice "video".

Lot's of other nice moments.

- the opening monologue of ME1, all the way up until the camera rotates to see Shepard's face for the first time

At which point I INEVITABLY realize I messed something up in the creator and Shepard looks awful. Back to square one!

May everything have mercy on my soul for this, but I honestly love Buzz talking at the end. It's mostly because I've always read it as a talk about science fiction.

Spectre Induction forever.

Favorite scenes, divided by game, but in no particular order

ME1

That completed sidequest noise

The Paragon ending to the "I Remember Me" quest and the Corporal Toombs quest. The Renegade endings are all right but the Paragon one is better

Finishing that mission with the biotic supremacists without losing any of those wandering scientists

+32 Paragon on the Feros mission, the little sidequests gave a warm fuzzy, but that was the big one

Related: Killing the Thorian. It deserved what it got

Chatting with Kaidan in a CO/XO way (I know he's not the XO, but still)

That way Tali's voice breaks when you give her that geth data

Hearing Garrus say he's going to apply for Spectre training, but do it properly

Teasing Ash with that conversation about her sister (both versions, BroShep is better though)

ME2

The part on Horizon between seeing Kaidan (and Ash) on Horizon until the part where they start talking about Cerberus

Miranda turning on the Illusive Man

Miranda seeing her sister safe for the first time

The conversation with Jack after her loyalty mission when you spare Aresh

Garrus saying "You know your plan has me walking into hell too? Just like old times"

Mordin's lightning-fast deductions

Jacob's bro-hug after you finish all of his conversations, and says they'll hit the bars when they are done

Random chatter with Kasumi, she's brings a lot of life

Samara's introduction

The moment just after killing Morinth, when Samara asks for silence, and pity

Mordin's quiet conversations in the krogan hospital

Mordin's "too busy" dialogues

Hugging Tali after she finds her father

The end of Thane's loyalty mission

Helping the salarians on Thane's recruitment mission

Legion's "What did we do wrong" conversation

Putting Zaeed in your party, and watching him mop up bad guys

That nod you get from Jack and the group when you save everyone in the loyalty missions

Sending David Archer to Grissom

Fighting Tela Vasir as a Vanguard on Insanity

The e-mail a romanced Ash/Kaidan sends after Horizon

The Romance music

ME3

Duking it out with James

Diana Allers's "This war needs to be won". It wasn't delivered very well, but it was a good line

Killing Eva

Reunion with Garrus on Menae

Saving the students at Grissom, and that part in the atrium. It was hard, but fun

Sur'Kesh, the mission was fun and the locale was beautiful

Tarquin Victus's final stand

Mordin's "I MADE A MISTAKE!"

Talking down Mordin, and the ironic echo about how he was too eager to atone

Eve - Nothing specific, she was just awesome

The heartbreaking speech you say to unconscious Kaidan (FemShep's is better, but BroShep's is still good). Particularly the "The Alliance can sure use you. I could...still use you."

Kaidan apologizing for Horizon. Ash's is cool, but he says he's sorry and never brings up Cerberus in relation to Shepard again. I can forgive him then.

Thane's saving of the councilor

The email you get saying how Aresh saved all those children

Hearing from Shiala again

Kirrahe telling me he has my back no matter what

The Scorpion pistol (Both Kirrahe's moment, and using it myself)

Tali coming back on the ship, and the first thing she tells me when we're alone is that she's sorry about Earth

Seeing Rannoch for the first time

Saving Legion on the dreadnought

Bringing peace to Rannoch

Tali taking off her mask on Rannoch, even if we don't see her face

Saving Captain Riley

Helping random folks on the Citadel with ones that aren't related to the Crucible. Of special note are the salarian who wants the heating stabilizers, the turian who wants the Banner of the First Regiment, and the guys with the financial VIs

Rescuing some elcor on Fortis/Dekunna. Missed awesome mission, but at least we could try to save them

The death of the Reaper dreadnoughts

Killing Kai Leng

Miranda's conversation after she kills her father and she's alive

For the Citadel DLC, the whole thing, provided there's no Wrex in it

Entering the bunker on Illos, viewing the pods and the scene with Vigil. the moment with Vigil set into motion as to what Mass Effect felt like. It was a very emotional (the better kind of emotional scenery) and memorable scene. Truely unique among other moments. I hope Bioware can create another scene with that type of quality as opposed to sad death scenes.

Heretic!

Nah, I just love my squad and my squad ragging on each other, instead of them falling all over themselves and fawning about how awesome Wrex is.

I never minded Buzz. I've always liked the stargazer scene. Even when I hated the original endings with every fiber of my being, I still never understood the hate for that scene.

I thought it was kinda cheese, but just having Buzz Aldrin speak a few lines for the game was pretty cool on it's own.

The stargazer scene didn't bother me to much. After all the dlc was released, you still get the 'one more story' line. If it meant only for dlc, then why leave that line in unless Bioware has other plans. I don't know.

It was cool hearing Buzz Aldrin's voice and reminded me of watching him walk on the moon in 1969. Awesome.

I also liked the ardat-yakshi monastery. The whole atmosphere is quite creepy, and dragging felare away from her sister before she sacrifices herself was quite emotive.

I also liked the samara recruitment mission come to think of it, and Thane's. They made good use of illium (especially the sky bridge between the towers). Really felt like you were in a place (LotSB built on this I feel).

Finally, I liked noveria. That whole arc was the best part of me1 for me; felt like you actually were on an isolated planet on the fringes of accepted practice (the only law is don't affect the share price). The character of Parsini was woefully wasted in later games.

There's so many great moments in all three games, but the OP asked us what we thought was "the best", and for me it's exactly that.

"The best."

If it's the best per game, then:

ME1 I'd say the conversations where a renegade femshep can convince Kaidan to be more renegade, and then convince him to be a little less renegade when he suggests overthrowing the council so humans can subjugate the galaxy.

ME2: "How about 'Goodbye'."
