The only way I (somewhat) enjoy fighting them is with a MQI with grenade capacity or armored compartments.

I know, I've done it man. Still, being forced to adopt a single playstyle to play and have fun against a faction is bullshit in my book.
They better take care of the Geth issue in ME4...

My Claymore Huntress is one of my favorite characters, and this sounds like alot of fun- never tried a melee build with her, but it looks pretty awesome (according to Kalence, she's doing 3500 damage with a cloaked HM, that's with the Omniblade on the Claymore and Strength Mod III... I'd go Berserker/Hydraulic Joints, but I ordinarily use Geth Scanner on her, and it seems like it would be even more valuable on a melee build.. but 3500 damage in an AoE is pretty sweet!)
If her AOE damage worked through cover I would never take the geth scanner off of her. If I play her in platinum, I usually use the scanner and switch from melee gear to shotgun gear (since I don't melee as much in plat).
My Gold/Platinum kit would be the Drell Infiltrator. Nothing tops that black trench coat and Black Widow.

They should definitely take care of the bs stun lock and a couple more things but I don't mind bombers. They are a pain in the arse but they perform as intended and gives geth a bit of a vanguard. I do mind them dodging hitscan stuff though.

I would like have two:
-Asari Adept Comando 
with Wraith - universal death dealer agaist any faction, and kan keep indefinitely long, since not limited by consumables;
-Asari Vanguard Grenadier with Talon - one chick nuclear strike, as far as you have grenades. Extreme fun on gold, but can be tricky when the match takes too long due to bad team.
Turian Sentinel with Arc Pistol. The build is in my profile, although I am still experimenting with it.
If anything, I am choosing him for kinda sentimental reasons. I held my own in Gold with him for the first time. I also played with him mostly in my first runs in ME3MP.
But, if that sounds unoriginal, I can go with Asari Valkyrie. The second character I played with in ME3MP, also one that I use in Golds as of late. It may not sound like an achievement to the seasoned veterans, but I killed two Brutes in a tight space on my own. That was fun, or I was just tripping because of my high fever.

I hardly play anything else but Drell anymore nowadays because everything else is just too damn slow. Yes, Drell kinda ruined the game for me, meaning that I totally love playing them, but don't enjoy playing anything else anymore. Sometimes I still play Geth (except Juggy of course) and Asari kits. I don't play as often as I used to in the past - so I usually spend some quality time with my beloved Drells. If I had to pick one, it'd probably be him:

Build is THIS one.
To achieve max damage (step by step): pick a chokepoint, deploy warp.
Apply a generous dose of Crusader in many occipital lobes. Shockwave to surprise them to death.
Reload cancel and repeat.
If mobs come to you for free hugs, give them the cold shoulder: or better yet, use your head. (Never had to detonate barrier to escape, even in Plat.)
The only bosses you should keep away from are Banshees: if others bosses manage to rush you, you're not doing your job properly, you pyjack.
Remember to headbutt your krannt between waves.
Laugh like a mad krogan every kill you do with style.
