How many people do you know that have pieces of armor taken from a friends body?
Not too different form keeping someon's ashes in an urn on the mantlepiece (which is far weirder). It's probably the only physical item of Shep's she has left.
Regarding the friend thing, that's how bioware wrote it. Shep and Liara are supposed to be on freindly terms, that's how they see it. Whether you wanted that or not is not the character's fault, it's how the writers wrote it.
For exampe, why in ME2, as soons as I am reinstated as a SPECTRE, can't I get Jacob and Miranda arrested as terroists and interrogated for what they know about the collecters and Cerberus, whilst I continue the search for the collecters with the behind the scenes backing of Anderson etc?
because that's not how Bioware wrote it. So I can't. I don't start endless threads about it though.

Traynor because reasons.
That and her Citadel dlc content is way better than almost anything really.

Oh Liara easily, I have tried other romance options in the game but Liara for me is hands down the most rewarding and poignant.

As you say that the way Bioware wrote it. I wonder what changed because you can talk crap to her in ME1 if you pick her up after doing Virmire.

There you go again with the friend crap. All Shepard's that I've played don't give a flying crap about her.
What's your answer if Shepard asks why you didn't tell his/her mother(for those that play as a spacer) about giving his/her body to Cerberus? Or why she couldn't give the armor to his/her mother? Is LIara now more important than Shepards mother?
von uber already explained the friend thing. I explained it a few times already. I'm not doing it again.
As for Shepard's mother, she is Alliance. It once again brings us to my previous point.
Do I think Liara is more important than Hannah Shepard? I don't and I'm willing to think Liara doesn't think that. But the bottom line is, it's sensible to keep that armor away from Alliance and Hannah is Alliance.

All of this reminds me of why I keep hooking up with Garrus.

No Idea. But then look at the fact in ME1 you can choose to not have people in your team; they largely dropped that too.

Lol I could be an ass to Garrus in ME1 and ME2 but he will always forget all of that and be the best friend - a brother with Shep in ME3. As Von Uber said "that's how bioware wrote it"
Anyway back to the topic, I decided to try out Liara romance in ME1 and I never look back since
. I feel like there are a lot of emotions in the romance, Liara always have Shep's back and support Shep, she was closed to Shep since the 1st game.
About Traynor romance, I tried out once but I didn't like it. To me it feels like Traynor likes all the hot/tough girls. Ohh EDI's voice is so attractive. Ohh I will seduce the captain by using the hot bath in her room and doesn't close the door *awkward*( it seems to me that this comes out of the blue )
But to each his/her own. The best solution is making 2 Shep.

I suspect that its all about the new player and damn the ones that played the previous games. The only ones that you can choose not to have on the squad is Wrex or Garrus and not both at the same time.

See what I was alluding to

I've never played as femshep but if I were to pick between one of Liara and Samantha, I'd choose Liara everytime. Even if I put my Liara bias aside, i never see Samantha as romance material. Don't get me wrong I value her a lot and appreciate her intelligence and attitude but she's strictly in the friend zone for me. And as pointed out before she also doesn't come on missions which certainly is a big hindrance towards developing a coherent romance arc with her.
But then again my opinion may be rendered null as I haven't played as femshep or due to metagaming, so whatever..

On an unrelated note, am I the only one to find renegade scars and glowing red eyes sexy on femShep?
I totally blame von uber and her second picture in her last post for this line of thought...

Go for traynor. With Liara, I would prefer to have a romance with her since ME1 and carry it along the 3 games.
Oh, I've never played a femshep before too, but I'll do it next. But I'll start with ME 1 right off the bat.

I've never actually completed a Liara romance in Mass Effect 3 I just feel it starts so slow. I get the reason behind it is because BioWare made Mass Effect 3 for new players and not for long time players but still right from Mars you should have the option to lock in Liara or VS if you went that way.
With Liara I got to the gift scene and it was the exact same as a Shepard that didn't romance Liara, I didn't like that. The only good part of the Liara romance at the start of the game is Wrex's dialogue about it, and while I found it awesome and funny, the actual Liara content should have been better.
With the Traynor romance, it's locked in after the first move, and from there it seems most of the Samantha dialogue changes to add in flirts here and there.

No, you're not. I can't stand the renegade scars on Male Shepards, but I can't bring myself to remove them on my renegade femSheps.

Man I loathe the scars and glowing eyes to no end. It's just not satisfying to have a mess-about renegade if Shepard can't use it to scare the crap out of people.
I think Shep is pretty scary without scars. You know, back on Mars, Cerberus pissing their panties just by figuring out Shepard is there.
It just wouldn't be fair to add intimidation factor of scars as well. As Liara puts it in the Citadel... you have a face that could stop a Reparer. I'm guessing that's not just a figure of speech ![]()

This.
The armor on display shows that Liara cares deeply for Shepard. Having photos on the walls of Shepard sleeping or in the shower would cross the line for me. You may try to headcanon that they're not friends at least but that's like me trying to headcanon that my Shepard hates Hackett despite seeing her saluting him every 2 seconds.

I hated them; especially on a woman who I want to be attractive. It reminds me too much of Fable. So right after recruiting Mordin in ME2 when her eyes begin to glow 50,000 platinum goes down the drain.

My take? Liara. For all the reasons Mike up there posted. Sure, she has no hair, but hey... scales, you know! Sexy! And yeah, she's alien... bonus right there.

Scales...sexy? No hair? Umm, yeah...
Out of the two I'd say Traynor, because I just find Liara genuinely unattractive and monotonous.

Liara is the most attractive LI in the game.
It is known.
