So the website makes a mention of the fact that Morrigan is the arcane adviser to Celene for the past 3 years. Which sets up a lot of interesting and/or dangerous stuff. But Celene made no mention of her in The Masked Empire which was set in 9:40 Dragon. Is that a plot hole? Or is the game going to be set in 9:43 Dragon?

It's a plot hole or there was miscommunication somewhere. Vivienne was called the Imperial Enchanter not that long ago in the BioWare blog and in Masked Empire by Celene herself. Of course, it doesn't mean the post of Imperial Enchanter is the same as arcane adviser, but to me it seems to be the same thing: they advice the throne.
Also, if it takes 3 years for Cassandra and Varric to go from Kirkwall to the Breach, I'm not going to believe one bit that the Inquisitor is able to save the world. Takes way to much time to travel around...

BioWare is pretty terrible with keeping their various timelines and chronology straight. Its nothing new.

So according to the recently redesigned Dragon Age website, Morrigan has been in Celen's court for about three years. If that's so why didn't Patrick Weakes make at least a brief mention of her in the Masked Empire? What was she up to once Celene went missing? Vivienne got at least a passing reference as "madame de fer" (the iron lady) and the official Circle enchanter at court. I also wonder what the relationship between Morrigan and Vivenne is like? Presumably they know each other?

She was my least favorite to bring with me on most playthroughs only because I played often as diplomatic, but I really liked her. As I've said before, she's a Dragon Age icon to me. I guess I just expected more hype, even if we know a little more about her appearing in DA:I than before.
I hope we get to see her use magic/her in combat
Also Claudia Black.
She is one of the best voice actors in gaming.

The fact that she's not a companion means she can't disapprove of everything I do. This is a travesty.

The BEST thing about this game was the feeling of choices that were being made, impacting the game's ending. There needs to be some conclusion for ALL the people that romanced Morrigan.... period. Whether or not my Warden "dies" or something "happens" to him doesn't matter. And that baby thing has been hanging out there for 7 years and needs to be addressed this game. I can understand people "wanting a new game", but the REASON this game will sell well is going to be because of the ones who have played Origins (DA-2 was garbage). Just "token" appearances by Leianna and Morrigan isn't going to be enough to satisfy me (Though,,, I LOVE me some Leianna !! "Shoes,,,, I love shoes !!"). Morrigan and my warden is THE subplot that made me buy DA-2 brand new when I KNEW the game sucked (from the demo and fan reviews). So, again, I'm buying this game as soon as it drops and that subplot of "baby and Warden" will be my 2nd most important reason why. Don't know how much I can longer I can hold onto a saved game file, lmao. Seven, or eight years is a long time.

okay, I hate Morrigans hair. I want to pull it out of her eye. O_o She is not a spring chicken anymore, and the hair does not fit imo

I only want morrigan to be depending in your choices toward her. If you romanced her and such then she will have a softer side, if you were against her/ignored her or even betray her in the dlc, then expect her to have some kind of a more different negative attitude. etc.
^ by the way I like morrigan hair, in DA:O and in DA:I

Huh, was expecting alot more posts in this thread. Compared to some of the other character threads, this is pretty small.
Anyways, i'm looking forward to seeing Morrigan again. Sure has been a while.
I could never choose Morrigan over Leliana as a romance, but that doesn't mean i don't love her character ![]()

I'm gonna say it right now: I think Morrigan is the evil opposite.
But I still love her for it.

I'm like "Yeah, Morrigan!" then I read stuff about her getting close to Empress Celene and maybe teaching her dark magic...And I'm like "Oh I remember Morrigan."
That whole thing with her getting close to the warden so she could do her dark ritual thingie.
I'm still on the fence about trusting her , and she's in the royal court for a reason.I doubt she's ambitious when it comes to Orlesian politics , she's no Vivienne.Celene is powerful but nothing magic related as far as I know.(well she's got a ring or dagger with some badass enchantment ,but that's it.)
So what's going on ?If she's after the Eluvians , Briala would be a better target. And chances are Morrigan knows more about the mirrors than the elf anyway.
I'm curious but I think I will be cautious when meeting her.

From what I understood, she is getting herself prepared (and the child if you did the ritual) for what is to come, change will come to thedas and she wants(and the child) to be ready. It also seems like she will embrace this change, while other will fight against this "change". What change? I am curious myself, I am hoping for a world where everyone can be treated equal and alot better with more peace, but hopefully not a world with demons or mages as rulers. I dont think she would allow such things, well.. depending on your treatment on her in the game and previous.

Celene is really dangerous without magic. I wonder if Celene is behind the veil opening????

I agree with you. Treating people as equals is excellent. Demons and blood mages ruling not what i want.

I'm not sure Celene would have much to gain by doing that.
Well in The Masked Empire she thought for a second that a Blight could unite Orlais but then she quickly tell herself it's a stupid idea.

The Blight hitting Fereldan and being stopped there before it could expand too much dashed any kind of idea of it uniting Orlais. If it hadn't been stopped in Fereldan and started going into Orlais, then I think we would've saw Orlais rally together to fight the Blight.

I hope not. I want Flemeth to rescue the Inquisitor from certain death after they have slain their first Ogre. We have to keep the tradition.
I'm fairly certain that didn't happen to the Warden Commander from Orlais. ![]()

I think I'll make my next DAO file romance her but not do the ritual. I really want to know how her kid is handled. Both as the ogb and as a mortal kid.
Does Morrigan appear or is mentioned in the masked empire?
I'm setting up a few playthroughs of each. Never romanced her and turned down the ritual. Wasn't expecting unique dialog in Witch Hunt.

I hope there are a few different mentions of the Warden-Morrigan relationship from DA:O-- a romance one, a friendship one, and a bitter enemies one isn't enough, because I'm reasonably sure convincing your bestie to get her boyfriend to impregnate you is somewhat comment-worthy.
