More Bob and Pixie cuts that show off the ears for female Elves

Totally selfish requests:

Laura Bailey VO option

Exotic hair and Eye colors*Red,Yellow,Green,Pink,Purple,Orange,White,Silver,Gold etc...*

Glowing Eyes option for Mages.*I want to make a Blood Elf Blood Mage. :P *

*Black hair options that don't look dark grey or deep reddish brown.

*I want to say unnatural eye hues, but this is fantasy. And even then, the lore itself says elves can have purple, vivid green, etc. etc. eyes, and the Qunari as well. So I consider it natural for the race. Even then, I'd still want nice violet eyes for humans and dwarves.

*Curly hair. This can be hard to render for some styles, but I'd be happy even with an elegant updo that has a few face framing curls that at least suggest curly hair if it can't be down.

*Darker skin tones that aren't patchy or change to ghostly in certain lightings. Even when I'm purposely not making a super pale character that looked normal in the CC, in-game, they look dead.

*Lighting, zoom-in, and being able to turn the character.

*Piercings. They've shown, thru Isabela, that people can have and get facial piercings, so why not us as well?

*I like everyone's idea about tattoos, especially Dalish telling us which god it represents.

*I want scars, freckles, beauty marks. And hopefully if we get them, they're on separate sliders. That also goes for tattoos and piercings.

*Better eyebrows that don't look either over-plucked or like Eugene Levy's.

*Elf ears that I can adjust to stick out. I don't want just the ability to make them bigger or higher up.

*I know we don't get body sliders, but it would of been nice, especially for the chest area.

*A way to adjust how we'll walk. Strutting or stomping around. Dragon's Dogma has spoiled me.

*Nail polish like Merrill had.

*Hair accessories, perhaps? I'm thinking of Isabela's bandana, but perhaps that could just be equipable.

*Eyeliner. The blacker, the better. Even the shadow couldn't be dark enough, was more a dark grey.

*Dimples

It seems most everyone covered the stuff I want most, but I think that I'd like to see better complexion options. Making a character that looks older in the previous games is pretty awful. It was improved somewhat in DA2, but I still could never go with anything other than the youngest-looking character because it didn't look right. I'd like to make an older looking character that doesn't have DA:O's Flemeth zombie face or Ginnis' wtf-5-o-clock-shadow?? in DA2.

There's only one important option: the ability to shape the mouth. It has such a huge effect on how a character's face looks that the inability to shape it was a major turn-off in DA2.

Most of the things mentioned above would be nice to have and many should not be too hard to implement with the new engine, but as for what I think we absolutely need, there's no more important and as yet absent option than the ability to shape the mouth.

(Oh, and the ability to have cheeks which aren't puffed up is also critical, but I consider that more of a bug in DA2).

Me again!  This one isn't, necessarily, mine but I do subscribe to it and would love to see our chars able to have non-combat wear for times that they're in the keep or at a ball; or even feigning a market run.  Gowns for the females (with the option of leggings if they're so inclined) and doublet and leggings for the males; not like DA2 where everyone wore the doublet and leggings, male or female, and only within their houses.

Yeah, they did. But they also once said we could only play as humans, so you just never know! ;)

I personally don't see body sliders happening. You either get sliders that don't change much (like Neverwinter's CC) or you start running into clipping issues and animation glitches like in the Sims 3. Body sliders are increeeeedibly complicated and I would rather get a bajillllion armors to customize from than a handful that are fully compatiable with the body options. That's how Neverwinter gets away with it, they only have ONE armor model for like... 12 levels? They just get different names. Or to use Saint's Row as an example, they don't have as many clothing options and/or they're palette swaps or they're not complicated to begin with.

SWTOR uses the body size options and those have their own complications because you have to make a separate model for each option and you run into glitches like one body type not actually having the correct mesh or texture attached to it.

Body options are nice, but I don't see happening unless they make that a major focus on development and at this point, if they were gonna do it, they'd said. =)

I agree with you that we probably won't get body sliders (or different body choices)  :crying: BUT as to your either/or scenario, I think Dragon's Dogma avoids both those issues! (But there are precious few cut scenes in Dragon's Dogma, and characters never really touch each other... ooo nasty!)

as difficult as it sounds, a way to use our webcams/playstation eyes to use a photo of the player as a base, it would work for humans and dwarves i guess.  elves and qunari, not so much.  but it could be fun to see what would happen

•I would love scars. I liked the option in ME1 and was a bit let down when they took it out for auto-scars in the sequels.

•Better presets to work with. There are only a few I use each time in the previous games.

•Body type customization. Yes, I know this almost certainly won't happen.

•More beard options than DA 2. Beards that aren't ginormous but still better than a scruff.

•Voice pitch changer thing

1: Bodily scars. (extra: size/angle slider)

2: Hair length slider. (Props, however, for Duncan's hairstyle addition in DA2)

3:Bulk slider.

4: Bodily tattoos (see scars)/ more options for all concerned, more Dalish/Casteless/standard.

5:Jewelry/piercings (possibly post-creation items)

6:Greater facial detail overall

1:Voice options + preview

2:Testing environments and lighting effects

3:Outfit options/custom colors

4:Post creation cosmetic change options (hairstyle, wrinkles, scars, not facial structure etc. Stuff that could reasonably change over the course of a storyarch)

5:Inclusion of all options from DAO and DA2, but not limited to them.

- Body slider. My Mage doesn't lift weights for eight hours a day.

- The ability to have beards without your cheeks becoming gaunt!

- Hair becoming damp and floppy in rain and water? Could be realistic, and somewhat comical.

- Sex appeal  (ZEVRAN! Get out of my reply box, this isn't Saints Row! *Throws boot*)

My wishlist:

Lots of good (LONG) female hairstyles! I'd love to see big curls or waves! I want my long locks to blow in the wind  :D

Stubble for male inquisitor

Editable hair accessories, like let us change the color

More realistic facial features

Beauty marks

Cool eye colors (Flemeth's eyes in DA2 were really pretty)

Better make-up, like eyeliner, no eye shadow under the eye, longer eyelashes!

Piercings, jewelry

Body tattoos, more face tattoos

Let us edit default inquisitors

What would be cool is if they let you watch a small cut scene with your inquisitor before you start the actual game to see if they look ok.

THIS. I would love that. Sometimes I've liked something in character creator and it was dreadful in the game. I've restarted a few characters because of that.

(Thread necromancy)

I think you need to go more basic than this:

1. Correct proportions. No massive shoulders/hands and feet and tiny heads for females like DA:O.

2. Presets should be inspired by 'average faces' of several ethnicities. Studies have found that the average face isn't usually picked as the the most beautiful face in a lineup, but it is still always picked as being attractive. Provides a safe starting point e.g.:

124.jpg

3. Following this idea, face parts should be based on real people. Bioware usually picks one or two usable options then throws in a few random variations to make up the numbers, like those weird upside down eyes in Mass Effect. No one uses 90% of the options except when making "The adventures of Ugly Shepard".

4. Scaleable skeletons. I know people have said they won't do this, but in Skyrim, the talented and perverted modding community have made CC so customizable it's really not difficult to make a character look cool or beautiful, and by adding in a few basic body sliders, you get tons of variety with hardly any issues of clipping.

5. Basic/advanced CC. Many games sacrifice tons of sliders in the name of streamlining CC, so if you want a good looking face you have to open up the toolset to get access to all the options. A simple solution: have a few basic quick and easy sliders (all of which provide good-looking preset parts), and then a little 'advanced' tab, where people like me can then fine tune to our heart's content.

6. As other people have mentioned, variable lighting and sensible zoom. Daylight/moonlight/indoors. Flick between the three, turn your dude around a bit, zoom out and maybe play a couple of animations/sample cutscenes, and presto, you will never be disappointed when you get in game.

2-3 different backgrounds to show off what our character will look like in the real world (dark cave, indoor with lighting, sunny outdoors). The amount of light totally influences the perception of colours y'all!

Maybe with the ability to have some generic lines so we can see emotion on their faces.

Cause sometimes my Hawke looked weird when talking.

Better and more variety in beards/facial hair.

And importantly: Facial hair that doesn't warp the jaw/chin underneath it. I'm assuming with the new engine, that won't be a problem. But I just wanted to throw that out there.
