Sera was her name in the leaked survey. It's never been confirmed that her name is still Sera, but it's likely to be given that pretty much everything else from that survey has come true.

Yeah, Sera and Dorian are in the same boat. We assume their names from the survey, but neither has an official confirmation.

It probably is. It's also why people are calling DHMG "Dorian" because that's the name of the final mage from the survey and DHMG matches the description.

I thought the mag that confirmed her was OXM and that they actually said she 'showed up unexpectedly', like the devs hadn't meant to reveal her? And even then idk if she was mentioned by name.
(I mean, I expect her name to be Sera at this point haha, but I don't remember it having an actual source

Most people just don't take the magazines around that time as confirmation of anything since half the stuff they said turned out to be wrong.
But more than that, the reason for my belief in this scenario is also because I can't wrap my head around the logic of announcing two LI's at PAX and them both turning out to be straight LI's. To me, it seems more likely they would have announced characters that had less restrictions on them, ones that could be romanced by any player playing as any PC. If I were in charge of reveals, I would have announced bisexual options first... especially given how the DA2 system worked.
I am hopeful for this as well! It would seem like an odd choice to announce only the straight LI's. I think it's more likely that Cullen & Cassandra are both bi (I have my fingers crossed for this one!) Also, they're pretty good at listening to fans and Cullen & Cass seem to be the most desired romance options (by both genders). Again, who knows how much of this is wishful thinking!

I mostly wonder because Sebastian was available only to a female PC’s. I understand that as a brother of the chantry he has to be chaste, but that has nothing to do with gender. As a prince of Starkhaven (and now the only one left) he’d be expected to produce heirs, so there’s also that. But, since it’s never mentioned or discussed, I’m just wondering if he’s unavailable to a male PC due to his beliefs? I cannot remember the chantry stating anything about homosexuality. Does anyone have more insight on this? Or is it left undefined?
The Chantry doesn't say anything about homosexuality. I don't believe Sebastian was unavailable due to his beliefs. Leliana was faithful and didn't have an issue with it. The Divine, herself, had a sexual relationship with another woman.

Bioware when it was Black Isle had romance tied into their stories from the beginning. Actually, come to think of it, I can list all my games I own with at least marginal romance in them. I even want to say no to a few, but as I think about it, they had some kind of relationship in those. hmmmm.... thinking too hard trying to think of one I own that *doesnt* have some kind of relationship. Anyway, Bioware builds romance into their story, so nothing gets taken away from, Allan even claimed it somewhere on these boards.
yes but they did supported moding and u could add them into a "resting house" and do many many short of things... So that was not a problem.
Even mass effect 2 that I own and it was NON gay, there is a mod program that it turns it into gay... Maybe your problem is the modding after all.
My problem personally is not the gay theme, but the luck of modding. I hope they will allow modding, without modding tools (at least). And if you wish it "gay", there are numerous of gay moders out there, to give you mods you love.
modding will never be the same as the real game . You're just arent pleased yourself because ,you feel like you just...cheat ! cheating yourself and game, deep inside ,the whole romance is fake ! how can you play like that ! it just wont hold the same thrill as to know the compagnion is really into you !and from the start ! and to discover the impact of your relationship over the other characters and the game's world. am glad they allow mods, they can turn out to be useful in other complicated things sometimes ,but not in something like turning the character gay .it will never be a rewarding experience .

nope just a ordinary mage(this warden mage is trained warrior like many Tevinter Magisters or Dalish or some apostages who was not raised in Chantry Circle when they are banned to training using weapons and armors) who all have this blue* eyes when they do strong magic, especially with emotions
*or orange/red eyes when they are reavers(have dragon blood)

i don't think we're loosing anything . having a well written romance through the whole game is what ,in fact one of the stronget values !! those who romanced Anders in DA2 for example can understand and know how it felt whatever the decisions taken later .what i meant is that sometimes it can take the game on a whole different path and thus your personal ending. Also, having the compagnion you like share something so close to reality in this fantasy world with your character is really great to see !! thats why we like to speculate and keep sharing our suggestions about who we want to see gay or bi and who we want to romance, Cause for those who seek a m/m romance , hoping our already favorite character will be gay ,will add something very enriching to our gaming experience . something truly new for some (like me) !!. Romance in such awesome games are the sweet icing on the top of them ,and thats why, i wish and seek and suggest what i like to try and have my perfect playthrough.

this thread is about every ideas or suggestions over the gay characters weither they are romanceable or not . i wanted to know the opinion of others over having a only gay character ,it was the alistair deception back then that pushed me here , i never thought they will actually make it haha !
now that i think about it ....is there no way to change some character's looks before the final release...? i mean is it too late ..?
I will have to say that Cullen will be anything but straight . There is a codex of him, that say from what i remember ,there is a rumor around that say ,back when he was serving in the circle of magi and before he saw it taken by demons ,Cullen ,felt in love with mage there. This mage is known to become a warden and after the hero of ferelden. some says he doesnt speak about it because it was an unrequied love and some because of what happened in this circle after .But what is known ,is thar meredith forbiden anyone who speak about the knight captain and this rumor and will punish them throughfully.
soo my guess know is, if you're able to import you orgin save too, and you were a mage, will it have an impact around his romance with the inquisitor ,some revelations maybe like Karl with Anders in DA2. Have the developers remembered this and gonna dig up this story more. After all, this is very thirlling gossip ! being himself a templar (who's pretty much torn by now) ,this can do a very interesting past and be even more intersting if the inquisitor is a mage too !
now i just can't help but imagine him coming out to my inquisitor like 'i felt in love with a mage once who's now the hero of ferelden' and the answers might be like :
diplomatic: love have no bondaries
funny: i bet you regret letting go of him now
hard: then you're not merciless
and the flirt option :why am suddenly happy the hero is a mage and a man, like me !
and am not trying to think about less pervy replies ~~
