Was dumb imo that characters would eventually just stop talking to you if they weren't romanced in ME2.
Characters only have so many lines. Once they use them up, you can either have a standard response, or have them say nothing. If you key new dialogue to plot advancement, that spreads the lines out (which is what happened in DA2).
it was tryed with Sebastian in DA2. for what I have heard, it didn't go very well.
Still, quite sad MaleShep "love" cure all, while FemShep...well...seems like she can only spread death or having human men being repulsed.

Anyway, it might have been a good choice for Talimancers to not be able to do anything with her, but instead discuss the promise of it once Tali finds a way to work around it (ME3 even gives reasons to hope with Rannoch/Geth suit integration).
It would have been a more... :S 'realistic'... approach to that situation, and maybe helped in not giving the impression that Bioware wants to cut off FemShep romantic attachments far more than they do with MaleShep's.
But this is more of a ME3 problem anyway. There was no big assumption in ME2 that you'd see Jacob wanting to be apart from Shepard, Garrus always being unable to do something sexual, and Thane having to die (people used to defying the impossible wanted the impossible cure? What a surprise!).
*Just want to say that the infertility thing isn't a big deal on either end, because so few characters can do it in general.

Jacob - Would have, but won't.

Where is it said Garrus and Shepard can't have sex? Sure seems like they do.
I think that person may be confused cause Garrus and Shepard do have sex that's made pretty clear in the Citadel DLC. Unless they were talking about extreme foreplay but I kind of doubt it.

Seems like you slept with him too at the end of ME2 and ME3 if you romanced him more proof of it in ME3 though unless agian extreme foreplay but I really really doubt it.

This convinces me that having Fenris (and characters like him) be gay and bisexual is something we need to do more of.
Both gay and straight men can be either masculine or feminine (and it's quite all right for them to be either, as well).
don't forget it turned out freaking sexy !!!! i was into Anders romance of course (heart and soul) but i went as far as to have this 'one night stand' i now call it with fenris, and i really loved the set of actions you choosed for them ! its actually his hard brooding and masculine aura ,in contrast with this moment of pure weakness for hawke that made it all hot and sweet !
but nothing better than anders lush body agaisnt a muscled mage hawke ~~ *start drooling*~~ as much as i like shaping male elves faces (like in DO) i can't choose them over a hard and muscled human body ~~

and if I remember right, dextro/amino aren't always allergic one to the other. there are just some cases of very hight intollerance, and in rare cases fatal.

Because there's already games with hetero, duh. Whereas we have to ask for homosexual otherwise if it wasn't for us yelling, the game would still have heteros only.

You are not a bigot for asking for heterosexual romances. You are only a bigot if you think that homosexual relationships should be less than in either quality or amount than the heterosexual relationships. There is also a a fundamental difference between a group of people who have been historically marginalized asking for equal representation and people within the majority who have been historically catered to asking for more representation in response.

Could you imagine how limited we would be if we avoided all games that required us to play as straight guys? Or if we only played games where we could definitely play as a gay person? I would have about 15 games to play ever.

You aren't worth arguing with. But if it's really an explanation for your 'observation' about this perceived inequality you want (which I doubt), I'll answer you this once:
Noone is calling anyone a bigot for wanting heterosexual romances. Lots of people want them. The game is including them. Lots of people are talking about them and being excited about them and no one is silencing them. The gaming world is full of heterosexual romances and isn't likely to lose them anytime soon.
Lots of people also want gay/lesbian romances. The number of mainstream AAA titles with gay romances in them can be counted on one hand. They just aren't common. LGBT players don't have many options/opportunities to see themselves in media. Dragon Age is one of the few games which provides this.
If Dragon Age give you a LI who is gay, that is ONE character out of the entire pantheon of video game romances that you, as a straight player cannot access. And it's a big deal for queer players because they almost never get access to a character like that.
If Dragon Age goes back to the formula of DAO, where two of the LI are only accessible to straight players and there's no corresponding gay/lesbian characters, then it's just adding to the old status quo of romances that queer players can't access. If you are asking for more straight LIs that queer people can't access, then it comes across as greedy/entitled. You don't NEED them. Gay/Lesbian players DO.
I don't think it makes you bigoted, but it does kiiiiind of make you seem like a jerk when you've got the whole bowl of M&Ms, to slap away the gay player's hand when he/she only wants one.

Plenty of people resisting the inclusion of homosexual romances purely on the basis of them being homosexual romances.
The issue comes from "who is typically advantaged?" Asking for a heterosexual romance is a bit like asking for graphics. It's fine to say it, but does it really need to be said? You're not a bigot for asking for it.

It's important to always remember this whenever you see some person coming in disparaging people because they would hesitate buying the game because of a lack of homosexual romances. This happens all the time.
When I say I'd be more inclined to have exclusively homosexual relationships,* it's more in response to people that feel that homosexuals shouldn't bother asking for content they'd like, because the game is more than romances.
* I'm also not in control of who does or does not get romances. I'm also someone that is fine without romance content, so if I lost heterosexual romances I wouldn't consider it that much of a personal loss - so it's easier for me to give them up.

I'm actually okay with all the romances (now). (Well, maybe not Jacob.)
I was more remarking on the impression they can have on other players.
Thane's romance is actually.. maybe even my favorite of the series.
