Well, we are going to Orlais, so I'd like to see some gay NPCs walking around the world. Also, based on LI announcement, hopefully we might get some gay companions as well.

Yes lets get back on topic (just popping my head back in the thread again) 

 

Again I'd like our gay companions (assuming we have any) to not be so easily skippable like they were in DAO (yes they were bi and not gay but they were your only s/s options as well) At least with DA2 all bi approach you got at least one companion of your own gender that you couldn't easily miss. So what I would like to see is gay companions that aren't so easy to accidentally miss and gay NPCs in happy relationships and NPCs in happy relationships in general (just would be nice to see a few is all even with the world going to the Fade and all)

Thats why I said I'd like to see one in general, though if I recall correctly in DAO you can get two Dalish hunters together and they seemed pretty happy and maybe a person could count Isolde and Eamon? I just want to see one or two happy couples gay or straight or bi or whatever just would be a nice reassuring touch to see >>

Well, if the sample we've seen is representative, then there are an overwhelming number of males which means hit man-on-man action must be prevalent. If nothing else they must be very accepting of same sex relationships.

They're not really sentient for the most part, so I don't know if you can call it "relationship". Maybe except for those "awakened" by the Architect. Also,as they don't need to reproduce we don't even know if they have sex or a sex drive, a notion of romance, or even genitals. They could be like drone bees.

Sex is for more than reproduction and who knows if the song that drives them crazy isn't the Archdemon Madonna? Maybe underground they drink tea and play canasta, then archdemon, party drugs and a crazy Blight.

Sex is about more than reproduction when you have the mental faculties to make it more than that. Speaking from evolutionary point, if no sex is required for reproduction, why would the species have sex?

Seeing as how Beardy McWarden seems to have lost the grey in his beard/hair, it looks like they're going for making him look a bit younger. I'm sad about the loss of the grey, but hopeful that this means there's a better chance that he might be a LI? He's probably my top choice for a gay romance, but I'm trying not to get any hopes up.

DHMG is my pick for who I think the gay romance will be, closely followed by Solas.

While that would be nice, I don't see it happening. If we have to assign who will be straight, bi, or gay, Cassandra fits the straight only slot more than the other possibilities in my opinion.

I'd be okay with that too. I'm liking the looks of DHMG. It'd just be cool to get something different than the typical options (that is, an older, mature, bearded man, hhaha).

 

Honestly, I feel pretty lucky as someone who wants to romance a guy because I don't dislike any of our potential options (well, just based on the VERY limited info we have on them).

I'm still just over here in gay baby jail not seeing the downside to the "playersexual" model DA2 employed.

 

In an RPG, the more options available, the better. It doesn't take me out of the story to hear a ton of "you"s and "Hawke"s while I'm playing and I really wish they had stuck with it...

 

It is SO great to have queer characters in static fiction (books, television, etc.) but in a game I'm specifically playing to be a hundred different heroes (or villains, whatever the options allow), I just want as many options as can possibly be made available.

 

I am very happy we're having expressly queer characters and love interests with this model but I'm just a big fan of the PS model, I guess.

Always assume the worst. That way you are never disappointed. 

 

I prefer the sexually ambiguous, "everyone is available to anyone" style, but with the SSSS some people are going to get screwed over.

I just want Beardy McWarden to be an LI period I don't care if he's a gay, straight, or bi one so long as I know in advance and can plan accordingly  

 

Well if we do get a  2/2/2 system with the romances (hopefully we will since it seems Cullen is going to be an NCP romance and I'm not to crazy about Cullen or NPC romances to begin with) I'd really like to see either Hunky McBeardy Warden or Iron bull to be some LI's though I can't shake the feeling that if either or them are included in the LI slot I have a feeling that they would be a s/s option. And I sadly also have a feeling that Cassandra will be a straight LI her or Viv but those are just gut feelings. I personally prefer the all Bi system but we know thats not coming back sadly D:
