I'm kind of curious...how many 'major' choices were there in Dragon Age 2? Off the top of my head, there was which sibling survived and what became of them, whether Aveline was married or not, how the circle mages were handled when Ser Thrask asked for Hawke's help, whether Fenris was returned to his master, whether Merril's clan was killed or not, Bartrand's fate, the respect of the Arishok, what became of the idol shard, if Isabella came back with the relic, if Isabella was given to the Arishok, the fate of Anders, the mage/templar decision, and what Sebastian did, which ties into the previous Anders thing. I didn't count choices that didn't seem to matter or ones that led to roughly the same scene no matter want. That's only thirteen choices. Thirteen. Let's see how Origins stacks up:
Your origin story and the little choices made within it, whether or not you helped defend Redcliffe, how the Connor/Isolde situation was resolved, The Urn of Sacred Ashes, How the cultists/Andraste were handled, the dwarven succession, the anvil of the void/branka's fate, how the elves and werewolves were handled, whether or not to annul the circle of magi, Loghain's fate, who was monarch of Fereldan, whether or not the dark ritual was performed, who killed the archdemon. Thirteen again. I might have forgotten something again.
Assuming major really means major, as in all the choices will be as high-stakes as the major choices in Origins, I'm excited that there's forty of them. Then again, the Crestwood scenario is probably considered major and it's just about whether or not one keep can be defended.
My expectations are unrealistic ;o;
