As I seem to recall, in DAO, the Lady of the Forest was the spirit of a particular forest. As I presume there is more than 1 forest in Thedas, its not unrealistic to think there would be more than 1 spirit.
Ladies of the Forest/Forests? The heck are these?

Now THAT I don't see happening, but you never know, suddenly Biodev's might discover their collective green thumbs

The sylvans might have had something to do with it too. I'm liking your theory over here.
Perhaps the dryads could summon sylvan spirits and place them within the trees? I wouldn't be surprised if the dryads have some serious magical muscle.

It would be interresting to have to fight her unless your an elf .
It'd be interesting if playing an elf granted you the opportunity to avoid that altercation altogether

I'm not sure why, for example, a dryad would have a problem with a dwarf. I could see your point about other races, but I think it would be fun to make her hostile to everyone upon the first interaction. It would be nice if we got the option to use high cunning/persuade/whatever to talk her out of an attack, regardless of race. Then, depending upon your choices, she'd either relent and listen to your words; or just say "Sod it" and attack you anyways.

Dryad- "GIVE ME REASON TO NOT EXPUNGE YOU FROM MY HOME"
Elvenquisitor- "I like trees."
Dryad- "I have watercress sandwiches over here if you're interested..."

Thing is, the devs keep talking about how your race can affect your game. This would be a prime opportunity, and although it would suck, if each race got such opportunities throughout the game, I would be immensely satisfied.

Yes, the Lady of the Forest is our version of a dryad. There are other dryads, though not all of them are as benevolent.
Benevolent, or not, it doesn't matter ......!!!!

I don't argue, but I think there are other ways to play out the race dynamic other than with a dryad. I could see a dryad hating all mortals equally, unable to tell one race from the other. In my eyes, to her, they would all be reckless mortals that don't give one whit about Nature or the land they live on.
I know, it's pure opinion, but it's fun. All we have is the barest of speculation, but it's nice to talk about something different.

Except if you were Dalish, cause they seem be like "stewards of the earth". Maybe all races would have a chance to succeed, but Dalish would have a much bigger chance.

Exactly why I think it'd make sense for elves to get a pass at least once.

I can see your and Elu's point, since the elves really aren't in the best shape. Well, then the Dalish should get a lower difficulty check, but you'd still be (possibly) traveling with at least one shem, and a Qunari. I can see a Dalish having to make less difficult conversation checks to make sure the dryad doesn't try to attack other members of your party.

In the end it will always come down to watercress sandwiches

well ancient elves, and dalish elves take care of forests, even the Sylvan took notice of that when we talked to one in DA Origins. So I wouldn't count out favoritism on elves yet.
I mean, elves get the hate everywhere else on Thedas. In nature is where they get some love, and they love it back.
Fact, the dalish plant a seed when they bury one of their own.

Why not? I loved the Lady of the Forest as a character so I would like to meet and interact with another one. If the bottle was for the LI part, I just put that there since everone does that for the "*insert character here* for Companion/LI" things. ![]()
