For example, mine is Sigrun from Awakening.

All it took to turn me against her was her speed. I was a human warrior who would do massive damage on the first attack to an enemy, and then she would run up, and simply because she was faster, finish the enemy off with a quick, weak jab and steal the glory of my kill!  Also, her face tattoos are ugly.

Are there any characters you hate on for no good reason?

haha.. Man, I love Sigrun. But I know what you mean, she's a kill stealer.

Lets see. This is a tough question. I wouldn't say hate, but I kind of dislike everything about the Qunari. Their conversational style, as well as their religion. I'm not even that excited about this new DAI companion, even if he might be Tal Vashoth. Because the Tal Vashoth still have the same weird communication style. They all remind me of that one guy in the corner at a party who just doesn't engage or want to talk much. There's always a guy like that.. and that's the Qunari to me in a nutshell.

One that is not characters but worthy of a mention: Those corpses you deal with in redcliffe. They are bloody fast. And the game is not designed well to deal with them because you can't even really hit them but if you target them and do a strike with a sword, it hits them even if they are far away. How are corpses so freaking fast? How?! Watch The Walking Dead, people. Corpses DO NOT RUN. They shuffle. This has history. Zombies, corpses are slow. Even the deathlords in skyrim were not THAT fast. Though they could shout you butt across a room or off a roof.

For characters with no good reason?

Wynne but is her preachy BS that I find so annoying a good reason? I mean, I really want to tell her to suck it. She's like one of those brainwashed fools that just repeats what she's told - this comes up so very nicely at the gauntlet.

Sten - his tone bugs. Really, it just does. I leave him in lothering.

Dog - annoying barking at camp bugs. Really it does. I don't get the dog anymore and then I went and did ostagar and it was there. Dragged me into a cut scene when I was getting the damn key and suddenly I now owned a dog that I actively went out of my way to not get. And then at the gate it's one of my controllable parties. Wynne suddenly is not an option. Sten, oghren and either Zev or Leliana and the dog. Well, I wanted to run the mage dammit. Two handed warriors don't need me to control them. Neither does the damn dog. So no more ostagar return because I'll end up with that damn dog and I don't know how to get rid of it. But now that I don't get sten anymore it's not an issue if I were to get stuck with the dog. At least a mod shuts him up. There definitely can be TOO MUCH realism. That yapping dog in my camp is proof. Someone kill it already.

Wynne. She would make a good priest. Her sermons every Sunday morning would bore the heck out of everyone to the point no one would go to church anymore.

emmm... i can't say i do.

In real life you have a this feeling sometimes, that you reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally don't want to turn your back to this guy in the shower.

Games however, are different. Most of the time you can form your opinion about character (or game do this for you), so i can't really recall any character i don't like for no good/bad reason.

I don't like Wynne, but I wouldn't say I don't have good reason.

For no good reason? None of them. A valid basis is a necessity for me to feel "hate" towards a character. There are a number I do not necessarily like but it's easy to simply pay them little to no mind because they are inoffensive.

Wynne's attutude is one I find extremely grating on the nerves and her dialogue was such a chore to get through the first time i played. Just not the kind of person I enjoy being around in the least, so I never bother to recruit her in all subsequent playthroughs. A shame that what is arguably the most valuable companion from a gameplay perspective happens to be such a shitty character.

King Cailan has absolutely no brain. At all.

Thats about it, really

I recruit her then give her some gifts I get from Bodhan and ignore her the rest of the game.

I used to dislike Morrigan for being Morrigan. But she's grown on to me since. Hate someone for no good reason? Nope.

When I play as a dwarf, and if Sten is in the party, at times he would come in the way of the cursor when I want to click on something else, thereby initiating conversation with him. It's the only time I want to kill him.

I wouldn't say I hate any of the characters, but I do strongly dislike how Morrigan's used to string players along with deliberately obtuse dialogue and misleading marketing ploys.

Actually i like all the companions in the game quite alot, but the two mages are the most "annoying" if you can put it like that. Morrigan is to manipulative and Wynne is to preachy. I wish we had a mage in the party that was in the middle sort of, a grey mage. Luckyli you can be that yourself if you make a mage and get the best from two worlds.

Not any of the companions, but a few of the small NPCs peeve me. The daughter of the smithy in Redcliffe Castle who you find screaming at you. Iunno, irritates me. Like, lady, calm the farm and get some backbone!

It's funny how many people HATE Morrigan or Alistair. I really love both of them and it pays off to get their true friendship. Alistair can be so idealistic and mage-hating but he is such a woobie and his past is so sad, it brings out the coddling mum in me. Plus he is hilarious and I enjoy his stupid jokes. Morrigan, again, has a terrible upbringing that has shaped her but seeing past that to a lonely young woman made me love her so much. Tearing those cold walls down is so satisfying to me, and getting her to admit that you are a friend that she cherishes is heart-warming :)

Brother Berkel, in Orzammar. I have trained myself to ignore the arrow above his head. His quest never ends well.

Well, I have reasons for all the characters I dislike.

Alistair-he should have listened to Duncan more. The Blight comes first, and anyone can join the Wardens. He's a good guy for most of the game though.

Eamon-when i do kill Alistair, and I don't much anymore, he's the reason. You know he's going to try and make Alistair the King no matter what happens. I'd love to kill Eamon.

Wynne-I could do without her moralizing. If she wasn't your only support healer, she'd be fertilizer.

Keili would show, which is kind of a mark against her. (Wynne has a worse mark against her, but being a Spirit Healer companion would pay for worse.)

I forgot to mention a peculiar one.

OLD TEGRIN

Traveling across the map takes long enough, and as I get further and further in the game, I always have to pray that I don't get stopped by this guy. Because as I'm constantly zooming across Ferelden to complete various tasks, I constantly run into this irritating dwarven merchant whom I have no intention of doing business with more than once to buy the gifts. Every time I get my hopes up for the chance of beating on some bandit scum or darkspawn, it's this guy who shows up instead. In my annoyance, I wished for the option to shank him so I could travel across the map freely without having to see him ever again.

Making a merchant a random encounter was a very bad idea.

My Amell Warden was bouncing all over the map just before Rescue the Queen, and she finally got so tired of Old Tegrin she did try to kill him. (And discovered he's immortal, as are his oxen, in addition to being annoying.)

oh_esme_please_dont_kill_the_dwarf_zps70

I should upload my tweak of the encounter chance to DA Nexus... I never had a chance to test it after making the edit, but there's no reason it wouldn't work. (That I can imagine, at least.)

ETA, done! Old Tegrin Gets REALLY Old. And I hate writing ReadMes.

Theskymoves,

I just love that picture. I couldn't stop laughing. It made me spill my coffee.
