Hmm...  The only characters I actively hate are Howe, Vaughan, and Habren.  All with good reason.

Actually... now that I think about it, I don't like Jory much.  I guess it's because he's a sort of whiny character.  I mean, he's a knight who's afraid of being killed by darkspawn and dying in the Joining.  Come on, a knight is trained to protect others and taught to put the lives of others above their own.  Why does Jory ***** out when Daveth fully understands the purpose of the Joining despite his lack of formal training?  I don't get it...   <_<

I also don't like Aveline much either.  I know she's in DA2, but I just have to say it.  She's too much about legal justice.  She acts like she has to show everyone that she's independent and strong-willed when she doesn't need to.  And her voice... ugh, it just gets annoying after a while.  The only reason I bring her around is because she's the designated tank.  If I don't need her, I won't bring her.

I think the closest I get to hating a character for "no reason" is when I dislike the voice.

Any character that sounds like Jowan is immediately on my sh*t list.

I like Anders when he's voiced by Greg Ellis, but I hate Adam Howden's delivery.

I actually like Isolde. (By that I mean that I love her voice actor and I think she gets waaaaaaaay more hate as a character than is warranted.)

All the other characters I hate are for solid reasons (Oghren for being Oghren, Duncan for being Grey Warden to the core instead of a human being, Bodahn for advertising a special discount and then ripping me off worse than any other merchant, and Anders for doing everything he possibly can to avoid the path of reason and pursue the path of let's-f*ck-this-up-for-everybody-because-oppression).

OMG I just thought of one: I cannot STAND the little kid by the bridge in Lothering. "MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTHERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!" gets a little old after the first playthrough.

Okay and last one: I really like Leliana as a character but I wish she would stop appearing in every single installment of the Dragon Age universe.

Yeah.  I hope she doesn't show up in DA:I.   <_<

Now that I think about it, it feels like Leliana is DA's Liara.   :?

Have to agree with other posters - Anora, Jory, Isolde, Velanna, and yes even Wade are all on my hate list. Not to mention Barlin and those stupid spiders. Like I needed that cameo in da2.

Aveline, too, has annoyed me a lot lately. But I have reasons. To me, she's such a hypocrite. She tells my Hawke that Hawke is practically family. Not to mention she owes Hawke one because Hawke got her into the city. And she's all about justice and being on the right side of the law, etc. But when Hawke's little brother needs a job reference? You know, so he can stay out of trouble, make his own way in the world, and develop a sense of duty and purpose? What does she do? Tells the office of the viscount no, that Carver wouldn't be a good guardsman. Why does she do this? Because she's a *******.

Finally, I've got irrational hate for Duncan. He just doesn't seem to be all that he's cracked up to be.

I think you're meant to hate Velanna. No surprise there. Unless you're Dalish (and not even City Elf.. because she'll lay into them too).

Considering how ridiculous Awakening is on anything but a Human noble Warden, I'll take it. For the most part, I feel very out of place in that story as a Dalish... laying down the law with Amaranthine nobles, standing around in that keep with that big throne with the dog statues. It's all very Ferelden. The dwarves (like the bomber guy and the mason) make dwarf characters feel at home a bit, but elves are really out of place. So Velanna is a welcome additon. It helps me get into the story more.

The rest of the story is great with the Architect, but managing the Keep and acting like an Arl seems better for human characters.

I'll start thinking she's like Liara if my Warden is dead, Leliana somehow resurrects them, and keeps barging into my room, like we're married.

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news.  Apparently she is going to be some kind of advisor/spy master for the inquisition.

I agree the writers seem to have grown overly fond of their dear Leli, by the way. Not sure why they want to make her so important to keep dragging her back into the next game.

They have to have a favorite, don't they?  I mean, look at ME...  :?

She's the left hand of the Divine. You can't just avoid not having her around in these stories. Especially one about a revived Inquisition.

She might have always been a Seeker too. She's got a knack for deception. And I think they had her whole Seeker role planned out long ago.. her origins with Divine Justinia in her DLC kind of point to it. And her amulet in DAO (Seeker's Circle).

I actually figure my Mahariel went back to the new Dalish homeland after Awakening, at the "invitation" of the Crown. A wild elvhen arl was bad enough, but one who lights bonfires to Elgar'nan in the courtyard? The Chantry would have fits. You'd have to flatten your ears *so* much in that job, and you'd still get static from the nobles.

This is of course assuming the Crown even bothered to "invite" said Warden to leave, which would only happen if the arl stuck around long enough after Awakening ended. It seems to me that said Arl would stick around just as long as (s)he had to.

I figured since I saved the Keep, no one wanted me around anyways. The epilogue is amusing..

"rumors say that the burning of Amaranthine was an act of revenge, part of a larger plot to destroy all human settlements."

And when it comes to my second Mahariel, they're not exactly going to be wrong.

Characters you dislike for no good reason? The Guardian takes first place and second place goes to Justice.

I just started using him more and I really want the opportunity to tell him to shut up.

If you knew my human-hating city elf, you'd really understand why everyone was thinking that.

After the atrocity they committed by merging him with anders, I second, third, and fourth this sentiment. That made way for some truly horrible writing.

Any female with a name that begins with L and is bisexual seems to survive death and be plot armored. Yes? Do we agree? BW has a thing for bisexual women whose name begins with L.

I really dislike the one who gives you the riddle whose answer is vengeance. Why so bitter? Eh? Take it out on someone else. I'm here to save an Arl...

Yeah...  Seems like they tend to be one of the lesser liked characters.  I mean, why couldn't it be someone like Alistair or Wynne?   <_<

Most don't like wynne. Too preachy.... and possessed. Where's a bus to throw her under when you need one?

Now Alistair, he really needed a much larger cameo in DA2. Steve Valentine's voice alone is just too awesome to not keep him in the whole series. I know he grates on a lot of people (Alistair the character that is), but .... STEVE VALENTINE.... LOVE HIM
