Yeah I mostly play HNs and Mage/CEs they have plenty of reasons to want Loghain's head on a platter that have nothing to do with Ostagar.

Fair enough.

In some ways I do agree with the idea that it's more about whether or not you like Loghain more than Alistair, since anyone that cared to could justify Loghain's crimes if they wanted to and dislike Alistair opinions and actions. I like Al a hell of a lot more than Loghain, and given everything Loghain did there's no way I can honestly say he would have ever lived passed the Landsmeet in any of my saves if I didn't need to unlock a certain trophy. I can't have him die slaying the Archdemon because then his kid makes sure he's remembered as a hero, a notion I don't tolerate.

I'm not going to dispute the HN's grudge, because even though we have WoG that Loghain didn't permit the Cousland massacre the Cousland doesn't. And of course Loghain is entirely guilty of what the CE's angry at him for. But what exactly does the mage have against Loghain? They don't honestly think the Circle trouble was his idea? What kind of idiot would Loghain have to be to sponsor trying to take over the Circle by force with a group that is almost certainly a minority, and under the Templars' noses?

You can WOG all you want. He kept that snake at his side fully knowing what he did. His head went flying right after Howe's.

Jowan and redcliffe. Like mages really need more bad PR. (And no she doesn't feel it's fully his fault. Isolde's stupid ass and Jowan are just as much to blame.)

Huh? Uldred got pissy when the Circle found out what Loghain did at Ostagar and refused to ally with him so he went abomination on the Circle Tower. I can't see any actual fault of Loghain's there.

It's why I took it out. Wasn't exactly fair.

Jowan and redcliffe however...

Connor only made that deal with the demon because of Loghain sending someone to poison Eamon, but I blame Isolde just as much as I do Loghain for it. I would love to have Jowen use her to power the Fade sending spell but then I can't free Jowen afterwards.

Yeah Connor was desperate, Jowan and Isolde are the fools that put him in that position. (Which really I prefer to solve this quest by having Isolde sacrifice herself). Though yeah it sucks but at that point at least Jowan for once was willing to accept responsibility for his actions.

I once sent Jowen into the Fade to face the demon himself, but he was so poorly built I never did it again.

*shudders* Same. My god his specs. Just...

Nope. I either use my PC or Morrigan there. Usually my PC. If I'm playing a warrior and told Morrigan to GTFO it's throat slit for Conner :(

Irving is also a good choice if you happen to want him there. He can use Hexes and Glyphs.

True but that means I took the go to the circle outcome. I don't usually take that unless I do the circle first (cause at least then to me it makes sense) and have a big party (recruited everyone I could that's not Oghren). So I can just HC I left half the party behind and that's why the demon didn't do anything.

I see. The character I'm playing right now(Mage Human) went to Redcliffe first, then did the Circle so I could recruit the mages help in freeing Connor. It's along path to take since you don't actually complete "Arl of Redcliffe" until the demon is dealt with, so I basically did 2 main quests in order to have Zevran show up.

Yeah I used to do it like that too but it really is odd that the demon would twiddle her thumbs that long. But my mages tend to go to the circle first, human nobles redcliff and my elves...do whatever (some of them do the dalish quest first though).

I do the Circle Tower first almost every time. Say what you will about Wynne as a person and a character, but she's useful as an in-game tool. This in turn makes it slightly less of a wallbanger that the demon doesn't act over the time I'm gone, since all I have to do is pop in and say "PR coup for the Circle in Redcliffe" instead of having to do the entire Broken Circle quest while the desire demon sits unattended. (Still a noticeable wallbanger, not that that always stops me. Of course, that's still not always how I handle that quest.)

True but I kill her because I can't stand when characters force themselves into my party and ruin my balance. I kill Tali for much the same reasons.

I almost always keep him alive.  I feel like though most of my characters would want him dead, they realize that having such a small number of Grey Wardens fighting in the final battle isn't a good idea.  With only 3 Wardens, the chances aren't that good that any of them would be able to make the final blow.

Unless of course, I play as a Dwarf.  Dwarves are constantly fighting the Darkspawn, so I think that it gives them a different view of The Blight when compared to Humans and Elves.

I don't consider my party's balance achieved until I have at least one Spirit Healer. And since I bought Awakenings I've come to like having two.

Not seeing a need to carry a healer in Awakening.I'm not even sure you need one in Origins.

My recent parties have carried my PC mage, 2 rogues, and Shale and did just fine with that.

You might need one in Angarrak, but really no reason to pick it up until then.

Yeah I don't tend to use SH much unless my PCs one. So Wynne screwed my team composition all up. If only you could ask her to stay with the children.

Why not just leave her at camp then? Despite the fact that I pretty much... well, don't want to use the word "despise" because I think it's a little too strong, I could never stand Wynne, and yet she was almost my perma mage during 90% of the game. Her usefulness in combat largely outweighted my negative feelings towards her.

Because I'd still have to drag her all the way through the tower and see her boring fade dream for the upteenth time. It doesn't solve the problem.

If I want a Spirit Healer that isn't Wynne on a particular play-through, I turn Morrigan into one and build her the same way I normally build Wynne. I like Wynne, but sometimes she dies just because I don't want to see her Fade dream.
