So, what is your favourite moment in Origins?

Mine is most certainly the end of The Anvil of The Void, if you side with Caridin. After you destroy The Anvil, he states that he will now end his life as he is well past his time and he has done what he needed to. He says to you, "Atrast Nal Tunsha, Grey Warden. May you always find your way, in the darkness." Then he lets himself fall into the sea of lava below. God, that moment. It always strikes a deep, deep chord in me. My PC just stands there, taking it in. It's so powerful for me. I side with Caridin (even for a re-load after) just to experience it again.

Do any of you have moments in Dragon Age that really affect you like that? Where, even if your PC would choose another path, you just need to get that moment again?

Runner up is telling Jowan, "Stay your path, Lewyn, Redemption suits you." If you let him go and run into him again later on. I love that line.

For me, the final scene in WH with Morrigan with my canon PC
On a side note this is what I am really wondering about in DAI.... How will this carry through, if at all... Sorry pet concern of mine

But there are soo many. How can I choose just the one?

The US ending struck such a deep cord in me, like you have no idea. Although, it was one of those things where the effect wasn't anywhere near the same the second time around. I think it was something to do with where I was mentally the first time, compared to the second time.

My favourite moment? Seeing Fergus alive after the coronation in the Human Noble Origin; this made me genuinely happy, it was something that I didn't expect, despite all the metagaming I did.

Mine will always be the part of the final onslaught when the Warden and companions march through the gates of Denerim between the soldiers cheering them on.

"And here we have the Puppeteer!"

"Tell us Warden, how will the Orlesians take our nation from us? Will they issue commands though this would be prince?

Love that moment.

When you free the werewolves from their curse. That whole scene where Zatherian just stomps his staff into the ground and its over, you see that look in his eyes! His torment is finally over. I always swell up under that cinematic.

US. After all the politicking and running around and changing the nappies for the B team so they can go play at the gates and then roasting that big lizard while trying to keep suicidal friendlies alive - the final, liberating moment when all that is over and you detonate the über darkspawn. It's cathartic, and in suitably grand style.

My favorite moment would probably be one of the kill scenes. Some were so funny.

1. Killing the deserter in the cage in Orzammar over some key he defecated. "He lunged at me. I had to defend myself."

2. Killing the wounded soldier in the Korcari Wilds. "Does the word 'insane' mean anything to you?" "I prefer 'ruthless' myself."

3. The whole conversation leading up to killing the old smith in Redcliffe; especially if Zevran and Alistair are with you. "Or how about we just leave him alone? Old man, drunk, harmless? Any of these ring a bell?" "You heard him. He wants to die." "True. I did hear that."

4. Sparta kicking the man in the cage into the lava in Awakening. "Let you out? You'll spread disease."

I love this response after the werewolves are cured:

Former werewolf: "We're human!"

Warden: "Yep, I do good work.  Time to pay up."

:P

Off the top of my head, my favorite moments would be:

-Morrigan's friendship dialogue with the female warden after killing Flemeth.

-The City Elf's return to the alienage.

-Alistair's speech before the final battle in Denerim.

I don't know. Probably something to do with Oghren. My true "bro" of DAO. Not Alistair. They did right by giving me another cool dwarf in DA2.

I think it's a nice moment when I bring wynne with me to get the ashes. I don't even care for her but I always bring wynne, Leliana, and Alistair because I know their beliefs and feel that if anyone should be with me when I find them, it should be these three. And it's such a great moment for all of them. I'm never a character who really cares much about all this andraste business since she really is the cause for my mage's crappy existence before she joined the wardens, but I can respect other people's views and feelings toward her, and it's nice to see their responses and that I could have given them this chance that to them is an unforgettable moment.

As a cousland, seeing Fergus alive.

That Zev will stick around out of friendship if you ask him when you have a high enough rating with him. Turns out he was a good and honorable guy if you treated him well.

Morrigan calling you a friend and seeming rather sincere about it.

Alistair thanking you for not making him king.

Killing Isolade for being a horrible person and having a good reason to get away with it. I always want to let jowan go simply for that. She did way more damage than he ever did. And then later when Alistair says how well it all worked out.... her death was so not even a care. Priceless. Even Eamon was pretty over it.

Saving the Alienage and having Shanni be thankful.

Having armies at my back to beat the blight and kill the archdemon.

As a mage, the words from Irving at the end. That was kind of priceless.

And all the wonderful moments with Alistair. I just love that guy.

I don't get the hate for Isolde. She seems to be one of DAO's more maligned characters. And the blood ritual is hideous. Just the idea of bleeding from magic is disturbing. I wonder what that feels like. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I think. Perhaps there is someone, but not her.

I once had Zevran with me in the Ashes quest, and while everyone was expressing how overwhelming it was to stand before the ashes, Zevran just said unimpressed: "Nice vase." :P

I like bringing Shale. The Guardian has much in common with her (standing in the same place for years), and offers his respect.

The hate for her is based on how she was jealous of an innocent child and had him shipped off. And how she treated him badly before he was shipped off. She's this supposedly pious woman who throws an innocent child away because of her jealousy. Then she tries to usurp the rules around mages and uses her noble standing to attempt to keep her son out of the circle and with her (while all others have to pay this price). And in doing that she almost gets her husband, an important arl, murdered as well as kills off half redcliffe. And for final insult to injury, she really doesn't seem to care about what she did to the town. They are clearly irrelevant to her. She's cool with mass murder so long as her boy is safe. Yeah, she's dead.

Oh, I can see how an Alistair fan might view it. Never thought of that. To me, it's only natural for a wife to wonder why her husband is raising a strange child. Especially considering the pattern of nobles and royalty, and their harems and concubines and bastards spread about the land.

Yeah, and this is one of the reasons why I dislike Eamon.  I understand that Alistair's birthright was a secret to the public outside their family, but he can't even tell his own wife the truth and instead goes along with her assumptions that he's his love child?

This.  The moment I read the subject of the thread this was the thought I had.  While there are many moments, none hits me like this one does. I thought he was lost with everyone else in Ostagar, to see him in the coronation hall after all that was done wrenched at my heart.  I loved his characterization, the perfect big brother  :D

Gate partings are also a good moment, but only if I know the Warden will be dying at the end.

every time you kill an ogre in slo-mo or another companion does the killing

when walking up to a locked chest you hear "I can do that for you".

killing  Howe when playing as a human noble.

meeting  Isabela and having a threesome.

The entire final battle at Denerim + the Ending Ceremony. No matter how many times I play through the game (just finished my 7th), it always affects me emotionally and provides a strong sense of accomplishment that very few games provide. Of course, it is the most emotionally charged part of the entire game, no surprise

In Awakening, it would be the sense of wonder that comes with exploring Kal'Hirol. That was without a doubt the best of the main quests. Getting to see just how things went down during the darkspawn attack was very nice. Also very touching that the dwarves succeed in an effort to reclaim it, as said in the epilogue slide.
