My understanding is that in ME3, unlike ME2, the enemy AI needs time to acquire a target lock on the PC; the longer they see you, the more accurate their fire becomes. Yet I was just fighting my way through Cerberus on Omega when a shuttle flew in and while they were still in the shuttle and preparing to drop down they already had dropped my shields. My questions are: does the time required to acquire a target decrease as you go up in difficulty level? (I am playing on insanity.) Did they change anything about the Omega DLC targeting parameters? Is target acquisition tied to an individual unit, or do they have a collective acquisition level? (in other words, if one enemy sees you long enough to get a lock, do they all have a lock?)

Most of the AI is located in a single section and does not change based on difficulty. What does change is the amount of damage per shot (because of a multiplier).
There is some amount of "sharing" of acquisition data among enemies. I don't know if they were able to lock on you because other enemies had a lock, or if they can actually already see through the shuttles.

It might have something to do with difficulty. I noticed the same thing when you encounter the first two shuttles on Sur'Kesh.

One thing that really surprised me(in a positive way) was on my last run, while being on Elysium, aquiring Javik. I was pinned down by enemy fire, both companions downed and the centurions throws a smoke grenade towards me. Since I was pinned behind cover and couldn't change position, I decided to wait until the smoke clears out. When that happened, what waited for me? A turret right there in my nose!
I don't know if that was coincidence, but damn, I was impressed by that move! Really great move.
Oh yeah, I died soon after that ![]()
